Using my Japanese iPhone4 in Italy

Hi there,
One year ago I've bought a White iPhone4 here in Japan and I am still in love with this amazing phone. When I say "I have bought", I mean I got the phone + a contract with the career (Softbank) so I've paid almost like 40,000Yen (just for the phone) + 2,000 every month (for Internet + other services).
I should go back to my country (Italy) and I have this huge problem to solve: I don't know how to make this amazing Phone work once back at home.
It's the same iPhone everywhere, same color, same model but as far as I heard, I cannot use it in Italy due to some differences I wasn't able to understand.
It's still under warranty and I just would like to understand if I can do anything: I mean, I've paid entirely a phone, so it makes me so mad hearing that I cannot use it in Italy.
Could eventually Apple change it with a working iPhone4 for the Italian system?

I believe the iPhone is sold in Japan as carrier locked only, which means you can't use the iPhone with any carrier's SIM card.
Only the carrier an iPhone was sold as carrier locked with can officially unlock the iPhone, or send the unlock request to Apple on the owner's behalf. You need to contact Softbank about this.
If Softbank does not unlock iPhones, Apple can do nothing about this. You can sell the iPhone to someone in Japan and use the proceeds to purchase an iPhone in Italy.

To type japanese on a computer you change the keyboard, not the font. Go to system prefs/keyboard/input sources and add Japanese/Kotoeri to the list, then select Hiragana in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen, then type. The font will take care of itself.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to Mac's as this is my first.
I purchased a Mac with a Japanese keyboard as i'm half Japanese and use Japanese quite alot.
I'm wondering if I can use the Japanese keyboard whilst in English language mode.
I can get it to type Romaji but it won't seem to let me use the actual Japanese letters that are on the keys whilst i'm in English language.
If anyone knows a way please tell me.

I have a question about link between new depriciation engine and chart of depriciation.
My client want to use US chart of depriciation as standard chart of depriciation becuase it has already standard setting like IAS deprication keys.
it means I have to create Japanese chart of depriciation by copying from US chart of depriciation(non-japanese sample(0JP))
I have a little doubt about it. In my previous project, I copyed chart of depriciation by copy from Japan sample Chart of depriciation(0JP) stored in SAP.
Is it possible to copy from non-japan sample charg of depriciation to using Japanese new depriciation engine? I worried some errors will occrues if I do not use sample chart of depriciation(0JP) .
If I need to use sample Japanese chart of depriciation, please give me the idea why I need to use Japanese sample chart of depriciation. I want to know the examples of non-Japanese asset accouting consultants who have working experience in the area.

My client use one COA to all over the world. And not only Japan, other country aslo use the COD which is copied from that of US. Basic reporting line is for USGAP. I will customize 2 depriciation ares, one for US GAP and another is JGAP. No need to create TAX realted customize. It means it enought only adding Japanese new depriciation keys to Current US COD. No need to add more Japanese local requirements.
In this case, I want to know follwoing point.
I know COD controll depriciation keys, but I want to know more detail about COD, what kinds of controls COD do. What is Japanese local requirements. Why better to use COPY of JP COD.

You are of course deleting the tunes from within the iTunes interface.
The settings that I am referring to are your device settings for the iPad. It should show in the left column of iTunes when your iPad is plugged in.
Go through your playlists and make sure that the tunes(s) are removed from any playlist. You can prevent the sync as noted above then do a sync and the iPad should update with the content from you Mac.

If you had already removed the device from 'Find My iPhone' in iCloud, then you jus tneed to powercycle the device in order to activate it.

If it has not been removed, then the activation lock is still active.

She will just need an adapter to convert the US-style plug to the Italian style. Any travel store will carry such adapters, as will probably stores such as Best Buy and Radio Shack, or she can get the travel kit from Apple:

I had a similar problem:
Original Windows 8 was in Portuguese, but I'd installed a English (US) Language Pack and used Windows most of time with English set as display language.
After updating to 8.1, I couldn't download the English Language Pack.
Windows displayed a message to connect to internet in order to downlad the language pack, eventhough the computer was already connected.
The solution that worked for me was going to advanced language settings (Run dialog -> "::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}\0\::{BF782CC9-5A52-4A17-806C-2A894FFEEAC5}\CommonLangSettings") and choose "Use language list (recommended)" in "Override
for Windows display language"
After that, the language pack could be downloaded normally from English's Language Options

My question is: Is it possible to use an iphone purchased in Japan (with a japanese sim card) in Europe with a european Sim card. I know it has to be unlocked but that's not a problem. My concern is the Sim card.

Issue with LPAD/RPAD when using with Japanese data

Hi,
I am trying to apply LPAD/RPAD on Japanese data, but its giving different results than expected.
LPAD/RPAD is returning less data than length passed.
Database: Oracle 10g
Could some one help me on this.
SQL Query: select length('アップリカ'),lpad('アップリカ',5,' '), length(lpad('アップリカ',5,' ')) from dual;
Output:
LENGTH('アップリカ') --> *5*
LPAD('アップリカ',5,'') --> アッ
LENGTH(LPAD('アップリカ',5,'')) --> *3*

I have made a little research and it seems that your problem is connected with way RPAD function works.
Actually it counts 'display units' instead of 'real' characters count. And in japanesse one 'real' character may be formed from few display units.
