Using my MS Office with Yosemite: will it work?

I got a warning that if I update to Yosemite my MS Office software won't work? I'd really like to upgrade, but I'm a writer and EVERYTHING is in Word!

You can use Office 2011 with Yosemite, but not Office 2004. You would need to upgrade. See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Office 2004 and Other Applications Don't Work
If you have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite, it will not work post-Snow Leopard. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion/Mountain Lion.

And, then there is Apple's iWork suite:
Pages - word processing and layout
Keynote - presentation
Numbers - spreadsheet
Each can open and save Office compatible files. They may be purchased separately via the Mac App Store for $19.99 each.
As for other software, any PPC-based software will not run in Lion or Mountain Lion because Rosetta is no longer part of OS X. You will need to upgrade to Intel versions of the software.
(Access to the Mac App Store requires Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or higher and an Apple ID.)

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

You can create your control code in LabVIEW and then use a Call Library Function Node to communicate with your roboteq DLL. The first thing to do though, is check to see if Roboteq offers LabVIEW drivers.

It didn't work for me during my February 2013 visit to Switzerland. The Personal Hotspot feature on my iPhone 4S works fine when I am in the US. Upon arrival in Switzerland, my phone connected to the Swisscom network. Phone calls, SMS, Web, and E-mail worked fine on the iPhone. Funny is the Personal Hotspot feature completely disappeared from the settings menu while there. It reappeared once I was back in the US.

Have you tried the following troubleshooting document?
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
If you end up using the If the iTunes Store opens successfully section of the document, and the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox is already checked, try unchecking and rechecking it and clicking OK.

Lion - 2004 MS Office for Mac will not work

My 2004 version of Microsoft Office for Mac will not work in Lion. I suspect because this is a PowerPC application. My question is this:
Is there any program out there which will map the PowerPC to an Intel format? Other than trying to seel more products, I am surprised that Apple does not supply a mapping program for products made by Microsoft for the Apple devices.

IPhoto updated to 9.6 to be used with Yosemite but not working.

I upgraded my macbook pro software to Yosemite, and upgraded all my apps, including I Photo, in order for them to be compatible with Yosemite. However when I go to open I Photo it has a no entry sign around it and says I must upgrade as it isn't compatible. It is the most up to date version available but when I go to 'get info' for the app, it says it's version is 9.5. Although as far as myself and the app store are aware it has been upgraded and is 9.6! all apps are fully up to date. So confused, I've googled it and done everything I can think of and no one else seems to have this problem, Please help!!!!

Move the iPhoto 9.5 application to the Trash, then restart the App Store and sign into the store with your apple ID. Open the "Purchased" tab.
What does the button besides "iPhoto" say? If you see "Install" , let it install again. If it says "Open", click "Open" to run.
If you can get iPhoto to run this way, ctrl-click the Dock icon and click "options > Show in Finder", to see, where it is installed.

I just upgraded my MacBook Pro (early 2011) to OS 10.8.4 last night and my Office for Mac 2011 programs will not work. To test in safe mode, I shut down my computer, restarted in safe mode to see if I could open any of my word or excel documents, which I was able to do. I restarted, and tried opening an office document (word and excel), which did not work. Does anyone have a solution to this? I cannot revert back to OS 10.8.3 because I did not use Time Machine. Any help will be appreciated.

Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.

Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.

Web address with hyphen will not work in PDF

In ID, I create web links by selecting a url and then selecting New Hyperlink From URL. The new link is a Shared Destination by default with the web address as was selected. These links work fine when exported to PDF.
When I use the same process on a url with a hyphen (part of the address and not a line break), the resulting Shared link will not work when exported to PDF. The newly created link in this case always begins with file:///Users/.
What is it about the hypen that messes up the process? I work in a bilingual government so we have a lot of urls with hyphens in them. For example: www.cga-nb.org.

I recently installed photoshop cs2 on my pc with windows vista home premium. And the nudge function will not work using the arrows. Is there a work around for this?
