Using My N73's Bluetooth connection as adapter for...

Hey guys,
This is not a question that can be put into one sentence...
I shall put it as short and descriptive as possible.
I can connect my laptop to the internet using the Built-in Modem I have in my laptop (Dial-Up).
My brothers laptop is new, He does not have a Modem built in and I do not have any other hardware here.
I was thinking, Is it possible to Have the following setup
Dial-Up -> Laptops Modem -> N73's Bluetooth connection -> Brothers Bluetooth connection (on his laptop) -> Internet.
So actualy making a Networking Bridge from My Laptops Modem to the Bluetooth of my N73.
(I could maybe buy a Lan Cable somewhere here and make a Networking Bridge between the Modem and the Lan port, but only if this is not possible whatsoever.)
Thanks In Advance...

This has been a while, and I am back home now.
What I ment is what I said, I never mentioned my laptop having a Bluetooth connection nor using my telephone as a modem. I said that I wanted to use my Laptop as Modem and my brothers laptop as the client connection through bluetooth to my telephone wich in his way would be just a bluetooth adapter for my laptop. Now I figured that out myself and I had Dial-Up Internet on both laptops.
Since It worked I am going to ask another question hoping that you guys will just say I don't know instead of It's not possible.
How do I configure my N73 to become my laptops Bluetooth Adapter so I can connect any bluetooth device to my laptop.
(saves me 20 euros, but that is not the point)

  • 8130 Bluetooth Connect Option Missing for Some Devices

I cannot connect to some bluetooth devices on my Blackberry 8130.  Most devices I pair with have a connect option in the bluetooth menu but some don't, even though they have been successfully paired.  I have a specific device, a Holux H-1200 GPS that I used OK in the past with my 8130 but now refuses to connect and I cannot manually conect since there is no Connect Option for this particular device in the list of paired devices.  I have deleted and rediscovered the device multipe times.  When I pair successfully the properties show the Services SPP slave listed.  I have tried to enable and disable Trused and Encryption but nothing helps.  The Connect Option is present for all paired devices except 2 or 3 on my BB.  My bluetooth options are set at Discoverable yes, allow outgoing calls yes, address book transfer all entries, security level high, and all services are check marked.  I am with Verizon and my phone software level is 4.5.0.56.

In my own personal experience I have found that sometimes elements of the page (such as the Get Sample or Buy buttons) don't load in or load in incorrectly. Most of the time I've found that simply going to another page then back to the previous page fixes the issue or, like you have done, browsing from another devices shows the page just fine.

  • FileVault 2 / Bluetooth connection / WLAN - OS X Lion 10.7.4

    Hi Community.
I have some strange issues concerning the Bluetooth connection of my keyboard and my mouse ever since I enabled FileVault 2 on my iMac (mid-2011 model).
Before enabling FileVault 2, whenever I started my iMac, the keyboard and mouse would simply connect upon booting. Thus when I was asked to enter my password on start-up, I could simply use my keyboard and mouse.
Ever since enabling FileVault 2, when the password prompt shows up, my keyboard and mouse are not connected. I have to press a mouse button and a button on the keyboard, only then they are recognized and the Bluetooth connection is established.
Furthermore, after the system has booted up, during the first minute of use, I regularly suffer Bluetooth connection drop-outs of either the mouse or the keyboard, never both at the same time. Usually it takes a few seconds for the mouse / keyboard to reconnect. Then the connection is stable and I can work as long as I want to without any further drop-outs.
I know this is only a minor problem, but it drives me crazy. Especially, since the connection issues disappear, whenever I disable FileVault 2.
Is there any way to solve this?
I think it must have something to do with the fact that the prompt after enabling FileVault 2 appears at a different point in the boot-up process than without FileVault 2.
Something else happens, whenever FileVault 2 is enabled: after boot-up my iMac connects to my WLAN (Time Capsule 2 GB, 2011 model) and the connection is dead stable. I have Time Machine create backups via WLAN and it works as a charm.
Once the computer goes into sleep mode, upon re-awaking it connects to the WLAN and again the connection is dead stable - until Time Machine kicks in for the hourly update. Then the WLAN is still shown as connected, but the connection is lost, I cannot access the Internet and Time Machine doesn't work anymore.
Until I restart, then things are back to normal.
The problem disappears upon disabling FileVault 2.
And a third issue occurs after enabling FileVault 2: every once in a while, after I entered my password, instead of simply booting up, a status bar appears on the screen. The status is progressing, it appears as if it is loading something or finishing some process. Then the computer boots up, but is incredibly slow.
I have to restart it, to fix the problem.
Again, after disabling FileVault 2, the problem is gone.
I have already run the iMac hardware test, it doesn't show anything out of the ordinary. Most of the time, the system is completely fine and stable.
The problems only occur, when FileVault 2 is active.
Sorry for the lengthy post, but these things really bother me.
I hope they are gone, once Mountain Lion is released.
    Are there any solutions?
    Regards
    Sebastian

I have the same problem now that I've enabled FileVault 2 on Mountain Lion.

  • PS4 Controller Bluetooth Connectivity Problems

Hi there. I've been using the PS4 Controller with my Late 2013 Macbook Pro for a while, and bluetooth connectivity was fine for a while. Around the time I updated to Yosemite (although I'm not 100% certain that would be the cause), the controllers stopped being able to connect.
When I attempt to pair the device, it shows up as discoverable, allows me to hit 'Connect' in the Bluetooth preferences pane, and actually says 'Connected', although it continues to have the spinning load wheel next to it. Typically, when the controller ACTUALLY connects, the light on the back of the DS4 changes from quick flashes to a solid orange color. After a while of this, the controller stops attempting to connect, and the Bluetooth pane says the pairing failed.
I have reset the PRAM and SMC multiple times, am fully up to date on software, have tried plugging the controllers in via USB first (which works, but I want Bluetooth working again), and have done a ton of searches for similar issues. Very few people seem to have an issue remotely close to this, and the ones that do are able to fix it with an SMC reset.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I had the exact same issue you had, and I took the following steps to fix it:
    1) Turn off Bluetooth
    2) Terminate every single process in Activity Manager that you can terminate
    3) Open the terminal and type sudo rm -R /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.E5A09B51-7B2E-53AC-ADF0-*********.plis t (I censored part of the name since I am not sure whether these characters have any importance)  or sudo rm -R /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
    4) Trash the file manually if you can't get this to work ^
    5) Restart your macbook
    6) Open the newly formed Bluetooth.plist with Sublime Text, delete everything inside and re-save the file (I know, this feels like black magic, and I don't think it had any input... but I am just telling you the steps I took!)
...and now it works flawlessly. Tried with two controllers, and they still work even after I pair them with other devices.

  • IPhone 6 Plus no bluetooth connection to iMac or Bose Wave, IOS 8.1 last Version is installed

After update to IOS 8.1 on iPhone 6 Plus and 5s I get no connection to my Bose Wave System or my iMac.
When I start Bluetooth on iMac and iPhone I get the connection Number on both side. After pushing the connection button I get on the iMac the message "connected" for 5 to 10 seconds. On the iPhone "No connection". I test it 10 times with the same result.
What can I do? Wait to the next IOS-Update?

  • Adapter for usb 2.0 to Firewire or thunderbolt

I have an iMac with USB 2.0 Firewire 800 and Thunderbolt.
I bought a Seagate External Drive with USB 3.0. On the BOX of the Hard Drive it says can upgrade speed transfer by connecting an adapter for firewire or thunderbolt (not included).
I was told there was an adapter that I can purchase to insert on to the end of the USB 2.0 cable of the hard drive so that I can plug it into my firewire slot or thunderbolt slot. I hope this makes sense as my google search comes up saying it's impossible to do. Why offer this on the box if there is no such adapter?
It's currently plugged into my USB 2.0 slot but would like faster transfer speed as I access this drive continuosly.

Awesome, ok now we're getting somewhere.... the link you provided shows what I actually have right now. As far as the connection of the USB 3.0. I think what I need is the a base for a Firewire cable or Thunderbolt and NOT for a USB 3.0. I wonder if they have those types of bases to swap out on the external drive?
I'll have a look at my Hard Drive and check it out. Perhaps I read the box wrong too because it shows pictures of cables... not bases for the EHD
Also not sure if they will ship this to an Australian address as I live in Australia.

  • Windows Media Player 11 Bluetooth connect with N73

Anyone can help me with connecting N73 to Windows Media Player via bluetooth?
I have Nokia PC Suite updated and Bluetooth connects with it.
I can see it on "My Computer" folder as a phone and also as a camera.
In Device Manager, i can also see it as a "Portable Media Device"
But Windows Media Player doesn't seem to detect it when it is connected to PC via bluetooth. Only when connected by cable. But as I want to get rid of the cable, how should I manage this?
    Thank you very much.

As you are using Windows 7, you can use this extension from Microsoft - http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/html5-extension-for-wmp-plugin

No. You need a converter box like this to go with your MDP-VGA adapter:

im having trouble connecting my macbookpro to the tv. im using a mini display port to hdmi adapter, when i switch tv/video to hdmi on the tv nothing pops up, and i dont have the arrangement tap on the display settings, please help!

I've found that the order of operations, so-to-speak, can be important when hooking up mini display port to HDMI.  I have the most success with the following operations in this order:
    1)  Plug HDMI cable into mini displayport adapter (the cable should not be plugged into either the TV or the computer at this point)
    2)  Plug the mini displayport end of your new super-cable to the computer.
    3)  Plug the HDMI end into your TV.
    4)  Switch inputs on your TV to the proper input.
    5)  If still nothing on the TV, try a different HDMI port on your TV.
    Hopefully this helps!  Good luck.

    18. What is the maximum resolution available for use with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter?
The resolution available with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter is 1920 x 1200. VGA displays that use higher refresh rates (such as 85 Hz) at resolutions of 1600 x 1200 or greater may not generate video properly until you lower the refresh rate.

    How can I detect displays?
If the detect displays option is not available, hold down the Option key while you are in the Display pane.
How do I select additional resolutions on my display?
You can use the Display pane of System Preferences to specify how your display works. Not all options appear for all display models. By default the best resolution for your display will already be selected in System Preferences.
To select a different resolution, use the Scaled option. Some additional resolutions may be available when you hold the Option button.
I hope this information helps ....
