Using my new MacBook Pro with my old HP 6110 printer
I just purchased a new MacBook Pro and synced it with the settings from my old computer. I'm now trying to print to my old HP 6110 printer. I see HP 6110 printer in my printer settings, but the job gets stuck in the printer queue. I'm wondering if my 10.6 OS is not recognizing my old software. Does anyone have any ideas to solve the problem? Thanks.
To put your mind at rest somewhat, it is supported - I have a brand new iMac (10.6.5) and I simply plugged in my 6110 and it worked without needing to install any drivers. Might I suggest you attempt to remove any existing HP drivers you may have synced from your old system and try with the Apple-provided MacOS native drivers?

Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

New macbook pro with an old display M8149
I have a macbook pro which I bought in 2009. It's the newest version. I want to connect it to an old cinema display (model number M8149), which has only 2 usb ports at the back without any other ports or cables. I checked all the adapters in mac store, but there are only 3x8-pin adapters. This M8149 has a 3x10-pin port. Can anyone tell me which adapter I should buy?

I am trying to import songs to my new macbook pro from my old computer using home sharing. Both computers say that home sharing is now on but neither show up in each other's library menu. I am logged on with the same apple id for both computers. and both are on a stable wireless connection
Logging into itunes store on each machine wth different Apple IDs is OK Autorising each others machines with the other Apple ID is OK. This is completley separate from Home Sharing
For Home Sharing to work you need to
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share.
You need to select one of the two Apple IDs you are using and ENTER THIS ON BOTH MACHINES WHEN CREATING THE HOME SHARE.
Home sharing will then work -

New Macbook Pro with old Macbook HD
Is it possible to upgrade to a new macbook pro and use the old HD from my current macbook. I would like to get the performance upgrade without having to reload all my programs and other things. It will also make it easier to put the new HD from the new macbook pro into the old mb and have it as new without my info inside and have all the latest software installed and clean. Also , what is the max amount of memory on a 15" mbp.
The OS version being the same is irrelevant - the hardware is different. One example - your new MBP has dual graphics cards. The 'old' OS won't support that, because the hardware wasn't present on the old machine, so necessary components (call them drivers if you like) weren't installed.
To be blunt, if you swap the drives or clone over the old system, you will have problems. You can do that with _the exact same model_ but not an older one. -
I have a 500 gig time capsule. I have used with a Macbook. The Macbook has a 500 gig hard drive which is about 3/4 full. Now we just purchased a new MacBook pro with a 1 TB hard drive. Do I need to buy a larger Time Capsule?

Probably yes. You might be able to get the full backup of the new MacBook Pro on the Time Capsule, but it will not be long before the Time Capsule is out of space.
Better to add a new Time Capsule and backup the new MacBook Pro to the new Time Capsule, and keep the old MacBook backing up to the old Time Capsule.
If you do not want to add a new Time Capsule, another option would be to erase the Time Capsule disk and start over again with new backups of both Macs and move forward. -

Do you have your system backed up to Time Machine? If so, you can open your user Library and copy your Mail folder from Time Machine to your Desktop on your new machine; then copy THAT folder to your new machine's user Library.
To get to your user Library, open Finder and Go and press the Option key. Library will show up. Click on it to get into your user Library. Now go into Time Machine and you should see your user Library for Time Machine. Restore the Mail folder to your Desktop. -

thanksI understood your question perfectly and the answer is absolutely yes. When you change the iMac into target display mode you underlying operating system continues to run all existing applications. For example in my case if I finished editing some video and am about to enter a lengthy render process or something which may draw lots of resources like hand real, I set it to start on the iMac and then switch it to target display mode to use it as a monitor with my MacBook air in the meantime.
Only one small caveat in your case though. Since the target display mode is a feature of OSX (eg the OS interprets the special key stroke and changes the iMac into target display mode) you should make sure Lion server supports the target display mode feature. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't but that's the only thing currently crossing my mind. Keep in mind the compatibilities between ports as noted in my blog. If any of your machines have mini display port and you intend to connect the new iMac in target display mode you will run into issues. In that special scenario, I recommend buying a refurb iMac from 2010 which urtilize the displayport allowing you to use it as a display for all your macs -- those with thunderbolt as well as those with displayport. If you have thunderbolts then definitely go with the thunderbolt iMac. -

Migration Assistant (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Migration Assistant) is the tool that you would use to restore backups from older Macs to another Mac.

I have a new MacBook Pro with OS X Lion 10.7.4. The DVD player does not have a feature to store film clips. Why? This is useful for my work and I had it on my older computer? Why the loss of capacity?
I cannot recall the DVD player ever being a place to "store" videos - it is simply an app to play videos.
If your machine is new, then iMovie should be included as the "shrunk" version of iLife is included with Lion (iMovie, Garageband, and iPhoto). However, iMovie is not a place to store videos either - it is a video editor. You import your clips and edit them in order to then burn to a DVD or share via a social media site.
Have you considered simply dragging the clips to your folder "Movies"? That would be a great place to just store them (please be aware that videos are usually large files, so keep your hard drive space in mind so you keep a minimum free and available for the OS to operate properly): -

On my Mail Accounts setup it was set to "verizon.net" on incoming.
Now it faintly reads, "incoming.yahoo.verizon.net"
