Using my personal id in unlocked devloper windows phone will result to loss of my personal data ?

I was thinking to unlock my phone and use it to test my apps on my phone, but I don't have any other phone.
so I have only option to use my personal Hotmail id on my unlocked developer windows phone. But I am scared of losing my personal data.
So i want to ask if i use my personal id in my developer phone, my personal data like my contacts , my pics and videos and documents in onedrive will be effected ?

my situation is simple: what happens if i have unlocked the maximum number of allowed device and i have to unlock one more device but i don't have any of the other device to unregister. Can i unregister any of theprevious
devices using other mechanism and what happens with the unsigned apps installed in each of the unregistered device after this process

You can removed unlocked devices on the Windows Phone Dev Center Dashboard under Account / Phones. If you do that the removed phone will relock (I don't know exactlly how long it takes for that to happen). Once the phone has relocked sideloaded Apps will
stop working on that device (and you won't be able to sideload Apps on that device anymore).
I have read several reports that you can get developer support to raise the number of devices a single account can unlock in case you can give a good reason for needing more.

Yes, it is the same with me. I know a friend how upgraded to iso7 and lost all of his game center data. He tried singning in and re singning in but no change. Plus on to of all of this, apple is like have me and him to re-validate our itunes acount. Somthing weried is going on. So verified my itunes acount and it shows under settings that I am signed in, but when I go to the app store on my iPhone and try downloading or even updating a app, it says "can not conect to itunes store" after singing in! AND I'M NOT SURE I AM GOING TO UPGRADE TO ISO7 YET UNTILL THEY FIX THIS BUG!!!! HELP!

If you have data you want to transfer to a new Mac, Migration Assistant will let you transfer your files during the first time you turn on your new Mac, so you just have to follow the steps. See -> Move your data to a new Mac - Apple Support

I have 2 iCloud accts. One is old iTunes acct, the other is a MobileMe acct. I bought extra space and iTunes Match on the iCloud acct using my original iTunes ID. Now my phone will not let me turn on iTunes match cuz it defaults to the MobileMe iCloud ID.

Windows Phone newsfeed app won't connect to on-prem server

I'm trying to use the SharePoint Newsfeed app on my shiny new Lumia 920, and no matter what URL I try, I get this:

Please check the URL and your internet connection or try again later.
I have tried https://server.domain.com,
https://server.domain.com/my,
https://server.domain.com/my/personal, and
https://server.domain.com/my/personal/username and none of those will connect. The frustrating thing is that the iPhone and iPad apps connect just fine using https://server.domain.com.
Kind of frustrated and search engines produced no help whatsoever, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful, thanks.

Do you have a UAG (Unified Access Gateway) in you'r network? I haven't tried the Newsfeed app yet, but someone said on a User Group Meeting that you need a UAG to connect from the Windows Phone. From iOS and Android you could connect
without it.
I also found this article where it sayes:
"If your organization is using SharePoint Server 2013 the server must be configured with basic authentication in order to sign in to the app. Your system administrator can help you with this."

How to make backward compatibility of windows phone 8.1 app for windows phone 7?

I developed windows phone 8.1 app which is in windows phone store. Now, i want to make this app compatible for windows 7 also. Is it possible, if yes then how?

It may be that you are using non-backward compatible capabilities in your Windows Phone 8.1 app(s).
Developers that want to develop for different OS's usually have platforms with the different OS's on them for developing applications so they work on each platform.
I suppose you developed for Windows phone 8.1 rather than Windows phone 7. Therefore your app runs on a different framework than a Windows phone 7 has as well as probably newer hardware with greater capabilities.
So you will probably need to purchase an older phone that came with Windows phone 7 in order to develop for. I couldn't find documentation like the last link below (App capabilities and hardware requirements for Windows Phone 8) for Windows phone 7
from Microsoft but maybe you can.

How to change a Windows Phone start page programmatically?

FYI, I know the title is similar to many posts in this forum, but they don't address this specific problem.
I have the following line in the App.xaml.cs file:

When I change MainPage to Page1, it changes the page you see on startup. So far so good. The problem is:
On Page1 I have checkbox so a user can check "do not show this page again". When a user clicks continue, on the button click event if the box is checked every time the program starts going forward it should load MainPage.

This seems like what I want, but I get two errors I can't solve. Error 1 The type or namespace name 'UriMapper' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) and Error 2 'My.App' does not
contain a definition for 'RootFrame'
I can't find a using statement or anything that will remove the URI error. as far as RootFrame, that is used in App.xaml.cs with no errors. It's spelled rootFrame but when I change it in Page1 it doesn't make a difference. I still get the same error. Using
statements are the same for both pages.
I would appreciate any help or a point in the right direction. I'm using Visual Studio 2013 with the blank Windows Phone template.

Store a user setting and test it when the app launches.

That user setting would have to be stored in the local user settings (consider the first line of my code to be pseudo-code).
This works perfectly for a scenario where you have a page that should only launch the first time an app is run or an optional landing page.
I'm a self-taught noob amateur. Please take this into account when responding to my posts or when taking advice from me.

Windows Phone - Hybrid Sencha App Issue

We are building a hybrid app using Sencha Touch 2.4.0 targeting iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Although we are able to package and run the app for windows phone 8.1 using stub data but we are not able to make any calls to
the web service(services are exposed to public server). After building an app, when we make an XMLHttpRequest call (POST), the request seems to return a null response.
We are trying to hit a URL which is live(no VPN required) and accessible from Internet Explorer mobile browser. We are able
to hit the services and get appropriate response when we run the app in IE10 desktop browser(or even mobile browser).
We use a Nokia Lumia 920 running on Windows Phone 8.1 OS as the test device. We are not facing the same issues in any android phone or iphone. Therefore the issue seems to be restricted to windows phones only. We have tried
debugging the app extensively for any possible fault
in our code but we couldn't figure it out.
It would be very helpful if anyone has faced a similar issue and has a solution or workaround.

I'm not familiar with Sencha and you don't provide a lot of information about what your app is actually doing here, but check that you have network capabilities selected. In Visual Studio these are exposed in the capabilities tab in the manifest editor.
Without those declared the app does not have access to the network.

Installing Windows Phone Apps to Windows 8.1

Are Windows Phone applications supposed to installed on Windows 8.1 Pro? The 8.1 Start menu includes the Store application, but most of the apps I need to install refuse to install and insist that they need a Windows Phone account.

Each device processor has it's own architecture (a set of instructions that is supported by a processor), referred by a unique name. So, in the case of desktop, the architecture is x86 (or x86-64). In the case of phones, it's ARM (Advanced RISC Machines)
architecture. Hence, the apps developed for Windows Phone will not be able to run in Windows desktop, and so you're seeing the error message.
Hence, as britishdhez says, you can use the phone emulator. The emulator emulates the ARM architecture in the desktop PC, so Windows Phone apps will run on the emulator without any issues.

I want to create a webpage that can stream a LIVE video broadcast. And I want it to work with Internet explorer in windows phone 8.1.
Is this possible?
I was thinking about using jwplayer but I don't think it works with Windows Phone

Are you writing an app using the WebView or just creating a web page to be displayed in IE on the phone?
The WebView hosts IE so this answer should work for you either way but... The WebView supports the HTML 5 "video" tag. The platform supports a limited number of streaming formats natively including Microsoft's propriety implementation of RTSP and
RTSP over HTTP. If the video source is being streamed in either of these formats you can simply point the "video" tag at the server and you should be good to go.
If you want to support a different streaming protocol such as HLS or DASH you will need to create or find a 3rd party
Media Source Extensions plug in for the "video" tag that supports the protocol that you are using on the server. If you are severing Microsoft's Smooth Streaming content you may be able to use the
Smooth Streaming Client SDK for Windows Phone 8.1 although I'm not sure if the HTML5 support is available outside of a native HTML5 app.

Spotify on Windows Phone 8.1 has become practically unusable

Hey Folks, I've had this problem for a long time (many many months) and have been too lazy to post assuming that this is a issue affecting loads of others and that it would just get sorted but I've come to the point where I really need to find out what is happening. I absolutely love Spotify and use it reuglarly on my ipad and windows phone however my love affair with Spotify on my phone ispractically over. The app has become really unreliable and more often than not...unusable. Often it takes forever to load and I just see the scrolling (loading) green dots for ages before I give up. Ages being 5-10 minutes before I lose interest. Assuming I do get in, I then go to my playlists and the whole thing happens again, more and more scrolling which sometimes results in the playlists being revealed or again i just simply give up. If I do get to a playlist, I will select it....cue more scrolling whilst it tries to load the track lists which invariably never happens. Art work, none existent and if I do manage to play one track, the rest of the tracks on the album fail to get listed. If I even dare to go back to look at the playlists again, the whole thing starts over. It can literally take me twenty minutes to get round to playing one track! You'd think that this might be the sort of behaviour you'd get in a area of bad signal but this happens when i'm at home using my 50mb wifi and despite being connected to my wifi, which is reliable on all my other systems, I often get the message saying that Spotify is offline or can't connect to the network. I assume that this isn't a problem with my phone and is affecting others out there but it's become intolerable and since i pay my monthly premium Spotify subscription I expect a product that works. I understand that things get glitchy but this has been happening for the best part of the year and I really should now cancel my payments. If the problem gets fixed then I'd gladly sign up again and pay the fee but at the mo I'm not sure what I'm paying for. I never have this problem with the app on my ipad so clearly this is a windows phone problem. I have tried deleting the app and resintalling but nothing seems to work. Could you guys advise anything else I can try or at least let me know that you're aware of the problem and are trying to fix it and let us know when an update will be sent out. I know this didn't happen when I first used Spotify over a year or two ago. Thanks :-)

Hi, So glad it's not just me that is having this issue. The app is virtually unusable at the moment. The thought of having to uninstall and then spend hours, maybe days, re-syncing is not something I'll consider. Just sent the following e-mail - I'll let you know their response. If they offer me 2 months free, I'll ask them to take the offer and place it where the sun don't shine. Premium is pointless if the app doesn't work!!!!! Hi, I hope you can help. I have been a Spotify premium customer for a fair while now, and up until recently, would have recommended you to anyone - in fact, I have done just that, many times. However, seeing as you seem unable to sort out the issues with the app on Windows phone, I feel our relationship is at breaking point, and that makes me sad. A summary of the issues I have.1) Speed - It would be quicker for me to go visit the band, ask then to set up their instruments and play a song for me than it is to start the app, and get to a playlist - even when connected to wifi. I have a commute of around 90 minutes, and about a 3rd of that is spent trying to get to a playlist and start it actually playing2) Reliability - quite frankly, this is a joke. When I eventually get to a playlist, try and open it, it crashes. Admittedly, these playlists are quite large (700+ songs) but it's now started doing it on smaller playlists (one in particular is 270 songs). Considering the amount if time it takes to get to a playlist, and the time I spend curating these playlists, the thought of having to break these down into smaller chunks is not something I am willing to consider at this point.3) Syncing - 48 attempts (yes, I'm that sad that I counted) to sync a playlist of 700 songs. Sometimes it just stops (seemingly randomly) and says 'pending'. I later found out that this is because songs on the playlist had been removed by the artist (yes, I'm looking at you Prince!!!). Once I'd fired up the desktop app, removed these from the playlist) and then re-opened the app on my phone (after it had crashed) it would start syncing again. And then stop. And then crash. Surely it could simply skip unavailable files rather than just stop. I'm really rather fed up. I love Windows Phone. It's UI is far better than anything Android or that other lot have come up with, it syncs with my other Windows devices, and the majority of the apps I use (with the exception of iPlayer) are pretty darn perfect. They work. They don't crash, nor take an age to load. So please, please, please tell me that a) you are working on a fix, and b) that you will treat us Windows Phone users as equals. Some of us are normal. I travel all over the world, and so that is why I need one like that. It is unfair to the consumer, and frankly turning away customers like myself willing to pay high dollar to Apple for their product, who can I speak with to complain about this, because I know their are factory unlocked iPhone 4S' sitting in a warehouse somewhere just waiting to be shipped, and I want one. I know why, cause Apple signed contracts with each carrier so the carrier could increase their sales making customers sign 2 year contracts, I get it, I own my own business, but the delay of releasing factory unlocked ones is just not right and I should be able to buy one without having to buy it over in the UK where it is unlocked when it comes out right away, I should be able to buy it in my own country! These business practices we practice in the US need to stop, their is a demand that needs to be met with consumers like myself who don't need subsidized iPhone's with 2 year contracts with carriers and don't mine paying full price for an unlocked one, it is unethical in a sense, forcing the customer to buy it with a carrier contract and NOT giving the customer the option to buy it full price and own it themselves, OR, making the consumer wait a month for that option to be available. I understand your frustration, but when any form of rationing is required you have to prioritise. The number of unlocked vs packaged phones will be quite small and the number of unlocked buyers wishing to upgrade immediately will be smaller still. Against this you have the corporations sharing $billions between them.
It would, you're correct, have been fairer to release all at the same time, but fairer doesn't come into it: it's business.
