Using my phone in Australia
I bought a sim free iPhone 4 from the apple store uk, now I'm in Australia and wondering if it will work with a sim card over here? I heard somewhere that once you put a uk sim Clard in the phone it locks to that network, is this true?
No authorized service provider will touch this phone in India, or help you in any way. One of the downsides to purchasing an iPhone in a country you don't live in or intend to use the phone in.
You'll have to fly back to Australia for all warranty/service work...you can't mail the phone to Apple, as Apple does not accept International shipments.

Yes - unlocked means unlocked, but if there is a problem that requires an exchange under warranty, the warranty would be honored in the US only. You would need to return to the US for an exchange under warranty.

If its does not work Then what is the procedure..???Call AppleCare and tell them you just want to know if your iPhone is unlocked and if not, who is it locked with. If it is locked contact the cell provider and ask them what their unlock process is and complete it if you qualify.

When you buy an iPhone in the U.S. it's locked to that country with the carrier you bought it for.
If you bought the device unlocked in the U.S. it's unlocked, you can use it on any carrier. Even one's outside the country.
If you want to do a repair on a device you bought in the U.S. and your using it in another country, you must send it back to the U.S. Why? That's where you bought it from.
AppleCare Protection Plans and AppleCare Limited Warranties are registered to your hardware.
Your hardware is your iPhone.
Wherever hardware that was bought then that's the country it was designed to be used in and that's where it was manufactured.
Apple is very localized - if you call U.S. tech support, you'll speak to somone in your country.
So, what does all this mean?
In order to do a repair, you need to send it back to the country you got it from.
And we're all customers like you. We understand that you're upset, but Apple isn't gonna bend the rules to one individual.

You can use the phone with your australian number provided international roaming is enabled. You will be charged more ( for messaging & talking )than that in Australia since you will be using someone's else's network.

I wear hearing aids that are made for Apple, the audio will go into the hearing aids via Bluetooth. I'll need to use my phone for voice only.. I drive for work and have a wok oh one too and both are synced to a bluetooh headset (LG). I'm trying to figure out how to talk on both phones ( use speakerphone on work phone?) without using a bluretooh headset. I don't know the range of the microphone on the IPHON, thinking about hanging it around my neck or put the phone into a stand/holder on the dash and use the speakerphone feature. You can't do anything with that problem.
Take your iPhone to the closest Apple Store and they will give you new one for 200€/$ or if you bought your iPhone in less than 12 months you will get it for free. -

Unfortunatly the only way that you can get it off is to get the old user to input the password. You may need to contact that old user and see if he can put the old password in. hope this helps.

I upgraded from Iphone 3g to iphone 4. I had to update my macbook pro to Lepard just to sync. the **** thing with the new iphone 4. I bought and updated to lepard. Now when I try to sync itunes does not recognize my new iphone 4 as mine and wants to erase everything I have bought using the phone before it will sync! It says everything on the phone now will be cleared in order to sync it with my existing info on the computer from my previous iphone. How can I just get everything from my current iphone 4 into itunes, basically add it to the info from my previous iphone 3g that is currently in my itunes? I dont want to lose what I have on my phone currently....I paid money for half the apps for crying out loud.
I was so frustrated by this when I first bought the phone that I just pushed it out of my mind and NEVER synced it. Please help...Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

My iphone 4S wont allow me to restore a bckup of icloud it has just rebooted the os and for over 24 hours i have been trying to fix it i use this phone for my job so i need help. when i try to restore it says "Your iphone could not be activated becuase the activation server is unavailable, If the problom presests goto apple.com/support" It has done this for 27 hours now PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

My iPhone 4 IOS 6.1.3 is locked with a passcode of which I did not setup on my phone. How do I eliminate the passcode so I can use my phone?
If you did not set the passcode, then someone else with physical access to the phone did. It can not set itself.
Plug it into your computer running iTunes and restore it.
