Using my Plantronics 340 Bluetooth headset as a pc VOIP headset.

I am trying to use my plantronics bluetooth headset with my computer, as a microphone/earphone combination, with the popular gaming VOIP software Teamspeak.
I have a notebook from an other manufacture running XP SP3. My Bluetooth stack is a Toshiba one. I reinstalled the Toshiba drivers/software because it was still using the generic Microsoft ones before, but I can't seem to get it to detect the headset.
What am I doing wrong? Please let me know if you require any more information about my hardware/software configuration in order to answer my query. The system is able to detect bluetooth enabled mobile phones, just not this headset seemingly.

Right click on the Bluetooth systray icon click on New Connection -> Select "Custom Mode" -> ...
Now you should be able to select the headset profile.
By the way if the software can control the headset then use the VoIP option. If you would like to control you headset with button clicks and so on then do not enable the VoIP option during the setup.

I resolved it. I had to put the Jawbone into 'pairing' mode, by holding down the Jawbone it two different places. So it is compatible.

Poor performance of Plantronics 510 bluetooth headset with BB8820

Although this post indicates that my bluetooth headset (Plantronics Voyager 510) has been successfully tested with BB smartphones, conversation partners often complain that they don't understand me well when I am using it. The headset worked well with my previous smartphone (HTC Wizard). My BB8820 is running OS 4.2.2, as it is the latest version supported by my provider (Orange Switzerland). I have also had complaints when using the bluetooth handsfree interface in my car (Nissan Qashqai). How can I get satisfactory performance?

An update to OS v4.5, which I found on the Orange website, seems to have improved matters slightly, but not much. Any tips?

Using Nokia 6680 with Bluetooth Headset BH-601

Hi all,
I have Bluetooth headset model BH-601 and need to use it with my 6680 mobile.
I was able to pair the headset with the mobile but I couldn't listen to music as stereo, I was able to listen to music on the left speaker of the headset with very low quality as I was listening using normal headphone.
I tried to use the headset with my PC and it worked perfectly.
Is there a way to configure the mobile to use the BH-601 as stereo headset?
Is there a compatible music player.

The 6680 does not have the bluetooth profile necessary for listening to music in stereo on a bluetooth headset. As far as I am aware there is no way to get this profile onto the phone.
The only Nokia phones that have this profile is the 8800 and possibly the 7390 which I dont think is even released yet.

Can a E63 use a non nokia bluetooth headset?

Ive signed up just to say thanks "psychomania" after struggling for nearly 4 days trying to locate the "authorise pairing" which reading from your post shows thats its on the "right D-pad action" you have saved me countless hours of headaches to come, the question is, why on hell isnt this put into the manual, as the instructions for the E63 doesn`t mention any "right d-pad" press to get into this area on the bluetooth screen, just a "go into options, and select authorise"... would be really helpfull if they explained how you got into this place first...!

Why won't my husband's 3GS work correctly with Bluetooth headset? I have a 4S, and I bought a Plantronics 903 Bluetooth headset, and it plays music great out of headset, but when I tried to do that with my husband's 3GS, only one earpiece plays?

It is not supposed to fit, and murray65 is correct - Apple never made a dual dock for the iPhone 3G, and in fact, early this year they discontinued the Apple Bluetooth Headset. You can either just use the travel cable to charge both devices, or you can use a Dremel (or carton knife, etc.) to widen the opening in the dock for the iPhone to accommodate the slightly larger and more rounded iPhone 3GS. See the last few posts in this thread for some links to pics of the process.

there is still no bluetooth wireless headset that works with the pre. i can put up with a lot of issues but not this. i do a huge amount of driving and safely talking on phone is a serious problem. i love the pre but on previous phone i could voice command phone calls and i could listen to gps through wireless headset. i would think that this would be a priority for palm to correct. i bought the best wireless headset from sprint and took back because of this.

I have been using a Plantronics 855 bluetooth stereo headset (it's an old model, but still works great; prior to that I was using a Motorola 820). When I first got the Pre both headsets worked perfectly. I had little drop out on voice or music playback. Once when I did have a connecting and sound problem, I just deleted the pairing, rebooted the phone, re-paired the headset & I was OK again. That model works great for me & it's not even on the compatibility list. In your post, you wrote that you got the headset from Sprint. Since you didn't mention which wireless headset you got, I can only guess, but if you got it from Sprint, I know I've read some posts that have indicated connection problems with both the brands available from Sprint & the Pre. That's just an opinion from what I've read in various forums. I recommend the model I have. It can still be found on Amazon (I think), fairly cheap. And I know it works. Also I understand the new wireless headset from Jaybird might be good. I have no experience with that model & it's expensive, but it is sold at Target & if you don't like it, it should be easy to return.
Also, at least with the model I use, I can get the GPS voice instructions over my headset & not through the speaker. Not sure what could be going on with your headset there, except for possibly loss of AD2P channel signal which seems to be the channel that the Navigator program uses, not the voice channel. The only suggestion I could make would be to open up your bluetooth menu, disconnect the headset manually, then restart the connection manually before starting the Navigator program. That always seemed to work for me when I would lose the Navigator instructions over my headset.
I also wanted to post an entry to let someone at Palm know that I had written in another post after 1.21 came out that the AD2P stereo connection had become buggy. The headset was loosing connection more frequently & when it reconnected it would not automatically reconnect the AD2P signal, just the voice. It was a real pain having to manually reconnect the AD2P everytime the signal dropped.
But I wanted to report that with latest version 1.31 they finally fixed the problem. I had a brief drop out of the bluetooth signal to the Pre & when it restored the connection automatically, it reconnected the AD2P stream too! Finally, thanks for fixing that! Plus, I think my drop out frequency is back down again. I've gone all day & only had the bluetooth signal disconnect once, whereas after 1.21 it might have dropped out 5 or 6 times.
If the original poster hasn't updated to 1.31 yet, then that might be the best step to improving the wireless headset experience.
Aside from that, as with the above poster, I would wish that Palm would find a way to implement voice command in Web OS already. I really like the Pre & am very happy with all the features & work I can do with it now. But voice command is necessary & it shouldn't be missing anymore this far into the release. It would be nice to know if this is even coming down the pipe sometime in the near future.
Thanks for all the improvements in the 1.31 update so far. Please keep up the update release frequency & don't just wait for new models to come out.

help please Bluetooth Headset on X200s - Broadcom Windows 7 Driver Not Installing

So just installed Win7 RTM (v 7600) on a X200s. I have a Plantronics 510 Bluetooth headset that I use for VOIP. I followed the connecting instructions (just as I've successfully done with other Lenovos) and gone through 1 failed attempt (which happened on the RC version 7100 too). WIn7 happily recommends I download the newest Broadcom Driver at http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php
I download this driver install kit and when I attempt to install it I get an error immediately. (this worked fine for me on my old X61s)
"The program cannot upgrade your software. Please contact the manufacturer of your bluetooth device for support."
The problem with this is that Plantronics relies on the built in BT driver to work. I had a challenge on my older X61s (discovered it wasn't installing due to internal firewall issues) but knowing that, I took the X200s home and tried the install at home, off of corp net.
I've been able to connect successfully to other Bluetooth devices (like my mobile phone) but the BT headset won't take any drivers. Broadcom's "support" is anything but supportive.
I've uninstalled (through device manager) the BT Peripheral Device & scanned for hardware changes. Still get the same failure.
Anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone run into this problem also and found a solution or workaround? Thanks in advance.

On my X200t with W7 RTM x64 I came across the same issue.
First I went through the process of trying the W7 beta from Broadcom with the same result.
Then I used the unpacked driver-only from the lastest official Lenova Vista X64 package, which allowed it at least to be properly recognized. The headset however remained fully unoperable.
I ended with a full install of the Vista X64 package and now the headset works fine. Not a single issue anymore.

Lumia 625 windows bluetooth headset problems

Using a Plantronics voyager edge headset on a Lumia 625 with windows 8.1 often results in a audio stream that is interupted 3 or 4 times a second.
Already changed the phone, bought a higer bluetooth version headset (4.0 vs. 2.1 ) but still no solution.
Heard rumours that it is a known problem, and that a lumia 930 does not have this problem.
Plantronics and Nokia/Microsoft are apparently working on it, but no info on when it will be solved.
Anyone with the same experience, and anyone that knows a workaround?

Problem emerged as of starting to use the 625 with a plantronics Discovery 975.
Did all the things requested by nokia support, power cycle, factory reset, etc.
Phone was exchanged for a new one without result.
Bought the latest blutooth version headset from Plantonics, the voyager edge, problem happens slightly les frequent now but still remains.
Im running out of options.

6021 and Plantronics 640 Bluetooth not working

I try using 'Search for audio enhancements' AND the 'Pair new device' options to try and connect my 6021 and the Plantronics 640 Bluetooth headset and neither work.
According to a site the headset and phone are compatible.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I've seen two of them, but none for at least 15 years. I did see a Tesla two months ago, quite an amazing sighting.
There was an earlier post, more of a rant, telling folks that if they have a luxury car (believe the poster had a Jag) don't get an iPhone 3GS; that thread was expunged, I imagine due to its tone. But it appears all the problems posted here do relate to high end cars or specific earphones. My visor mounted BlueAnt Supertooth 3 has made the 2G to 3GS transition just fine .. and I'm sure the lack of any cable connection to the phone is one reason why.

The bluetooth headset pairs with my phone ok (iPhone), but my computers just dont find it.
I have bought additional USB bluetooth stick, but getting the same resutls.
I wonder how can I pair it with my macs?

Jabra Halo stereo bluetooth headset skipping with IPAD...

Hi, does anybody here have ever used a Jabra Halo Bluetooth Headset with an IPAD or Iphone? I just recently bought this device and paired with my IPAD and iphone 3gs, and I'm very disappointed, sound quality is great, but the audio keeps skipping every once in awhile, very annoying especially if watching a video or listing to podcasts, perhaps there's a setting that I have missed? any advise would be very helpful, My firmware by the way is ios 4.2 thanks...

To be clear this is NOT an issue with Stereo Bluetooth headsets, it is a problem with the chipset in Apple's iPhone and iPad.
Prior to the iPhone 3 I had a T-Mobile Dash with stereo bluetooth and it worked beautifully. When I got the iPhone 3 the bluetooth was a disaster with skipping and dropping the connection.
I eventually went over to a Sprint EVO and the stereo bluetooth paired with my $300 Nokia noise canceling headphones was awe inspiring. I purchased an iPhone 4 and it arrived yesterday. Today I listened to those same headphones and got skipping and it even unpaired for no reason at all.
The issue with the iPhone 4 seems to be that when the screen is active there is no problem. However, when you lock the screen it starts skipping.
So, I just wanted to point out that stereo bluetooth has been broken on the iPhone for at least two generations and apparently on the iPad too which is extremely disappointing. It's not the headset mfg, its Apple.

Bluetooth headset troubleshooting?

I am attempting to use a Plantronices M3000 BT headset with my Macbook for VOIP. I have the BT headset paired successfully and the preferences in my softphone set (either X-Lite 3.0 or SJphone).
When I call my VOIP number from a landline I get a warning "There was an error connecting to your headset. Make sure it is turned on and in range. The audio portion of the program you were using may have to be restarted." Likewise, if I click the call button on the BT headset I get an error message. I initially suspected a bug in X-Lite however SJphone gives the same error.
The BT help in OS X suggests ensuring the headset battery is fully charged. I have fitted a replacement battery which is fully charged. Any suggestions on how I troubleshoot this?
