Using my windows xp professional tablet COA

I have a Toshiba Portege 3500 but I can't get my COA to work right now I am booting linux, is there any way I can just use my the coa with my xp pro cd from my other computer? I really don't want to order the media for $25 bucks and even then I have to buy a crappy usb floppy drive that i'll never use again.

Portege 3500 Tablet PC
If you install Windows XP Professional and never use it again on the other computer, you should be able to reuse its original product key. You will probably need to explain to Microsoft on the phone that you are transferring Windows from one computer to another in order to activate.
Two things you need to understand.
1. The product key on your laptop is useless for any retail version of Windows.
2. You will not be able to use the tablet features on that machine. In order to do so, you would need to install Windows XP Tablet Edition.
If you want the tablet features, then you should order the recovery discs. The version of Windows restored is preactivated. So no key is required. You can probably get them from these people.

  • Hi Im using OS Windows 7 Professional 32bit driver for apple ipad air in order to transfer photoes from ipad to hp laptop

Unable to transfer photoes from ipad to windows 7 laptop.

"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

That is one heck of a post for a newcomer here. Your instructions worked like a charm, with one exception:
When uninstalling the Broadcom Device, I had to check the box to delete the driver, and then had to scan for new hardware to get the device to show back up. Then I was able to load the edited driver software.
I am not complaining, but very grateful, as I was pulling my hair out on this one.

  • Virtual PC for Mac with Windows XP Professional

    I have two questions.
    1. My VPC crashed (blue screen of death) on our powerbook G4 15 inch, and it states that the problem is a "unmountable boot volume." Is there I way I can correct this, I have programs on the VPC which would take a long time to reinstall?
    2. I am considering purchasing a Macbook and wonder if I can use the Windows XP professional from my Virtual PC 7 with windows XP professional in boot camp? I doubt it, but thought I should at least ask.

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
I don't know about question 1. Might be one to ask in the Microsft forums.

  • Windows XP Professional Task Manager

    Hi,
    I'm using a Windows XP Professional Edition Machine that does not open Windows Task Manager. I've tried CTRL+ALT+DEL and clicked Task manager and nothing opens. I've tried CTRL+ALT+ESC and absouloutley nothing comes up. I've gone to the directory- C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr    and double clicked to open it and a message comes up with saying;
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.exe
The Specified path does not exist.
Check the path, and then try again.
I'm also using antivirus- McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0.0 with the newest Virus definitions. I have scanned the computer thoroughly, but nothing has been found.
    Help would be highly appreciated.

  • Windows 7 Professional 64bit OEM Retail Key has been blocked for used by microsoft

    I purchased Windows 7 Professional 64-bit OEM on 19th
March 2014,  from a well known retailer, it is legit with the plastic case Hologram and the COA sticker. Before I instal on my laptop HP430, I ask to [email protected] about the Key is valid or not. On 20th March 2014 I got an email reply
from [email protected] that my Key was Valid. After that I decide to instal on my HP430 Laptop and activated with no issues.  On 2nd May 2014 my laptop was error so I decide to re-instal my Windows on the same Lapotp HP430. Finally I try to re-activate
my License using online activation and got an error message "This product key is blocked for used by Microsoft". I was trying to activate with Phone activation, but I got the same error "This product key is blocked for used by Microsoft".
Can anyone provide details on this? Why is my key blocked from activation? What could of happened that compromised my license key?
Thanks for your time reading this.

The lack of a Windows marker in the SLIC table could indicate that the machine originally shipped without Windows installed - certainly, in India, this ships often with only some form of DOS present.

  • Windows 8.1 Professional Tablet

    Hi,
Is it possible to push a company portal app out to a Windows 8.1 Professional Tablet without going to the Microsoft Store and just using the workplace enrolment?
    Thanks

The alternative would be the version available in the download center, but that won't be installed during the enrollment. For more information see:

I managed to install windows 7 professional x64 bits but however when i tried to install the drivers using the OSX MAC CD using boot camp, it prompt me boot camp x 64 is unsupported with this computer model. Then i tried the method by right click the bootcamp x64 and managed to install the drivers. However, i still couldnt manage access the internet and it prompts me no networking hardware detected...Any idea how can i solve it?
P.S i tried updating my bootcamp version 3.0.4 in mac os with bootcamp x64 version 3.1 exe but it shows me weird wording..

    Uninstall 2.x totally
    Use CCleaner Registry tool
Do whatever you need to to nuke the existing Apple programs and folders hidden here and there also.

Yes, the license allows 2 installs for the owner's personal use. You can check this in the license agreement if you wish.

Cannot install Windows XP Professional on my MacBook Pro using Boot Camp. When I get to the point of inserting the Windows disc and clicking 'Install' at the Boot Camp Assistant screen, it keeps telling me that it cannot find the Install Disc. The installation disc I am using is a new full install disc. I have tried to do the same thing using a Windows 7 disc with the same results. Does anyone have any answers. I am getting desperate!

I am using MS Office 2010 and Windows XP Professional, can I use iCloud for backup of my files and documents? I am planning to transition to a Mac so using the iCloud seems to make the most sence.

No, it is not a backup method at all.  If you delete a sync'd file on any device, you delete it permanently from iCloud.  That by its very essence is not a backup solution therefore.  A backup solution does not automatically and simultaneiously delete the file everywhere when it is deleted from the original source.
iCloud is strictly a syncronization tool for using files on multiple internet connected devices.

  • Windows 7 Professional (64bit) installation using bootcamp

I've read a 100 different posts on this forum regarding slightly different issues on this problem, but failed to solve it myself. I'm installing a copy of windows 7 professional (64-bit) through bootcamp on my iMac (bought late 2009) running OSX 10.6.4. The issue may be that I'm using an .ISO file (legitimate digital version i bought through school, with a serial key). I've burnt many different copies using both disk utility and Toast Titanium to make sure the disk burns in a bootable fashion. However I've had the exact same issue every single time. After partitioning the windows volume through bootcamp and initiating the windows install, the computer reboots. A screen appears and says 'loading files' the progress bar fills up twice and it then commences to another screen that 'Starting windows'. After about 15 seconds the disk drive audibly stops spinning and the computer hangs at this point seemingly frozen. I've done it multiple time erasing and re-partitioning the windows portion each time yet still hangs at the exact same point each time and I have to physically turn off the computer and restart. The only thing I have noticed is that a orangey-brown pixal appears above the 'windows starting' as if to commence a progress bar. This is driving me crazy as neither Microsoft or Mac support these issues.
Any help would be muchly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Pete

    Burn the ISO in Windows?
*If you used Apple Disk Utility, as has been said 100x here, burn it at 2x reduced burn speed (sometimes it boots and installs but still fails otherwise).*

  • HT203163 using windows 7 professional cant download itunes 10.7 - get error: the installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory

I am using windows 7 professional operating system.  I am unable to update to itunes 10.7.  I received this error message:  The installer has insufficient priveleges to access this directory

    Okay.
The message can also be consistent with disk/file damage.
The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
