Using Newly Installed Font in Applications

I recently installed Concielian font. It is in the Library and in User. It appears in the list. However, I cannot access it in any application including Text Editor. Please help.

I believe I originally did a restart after installing the font. At your suggestion, I did a cold start and that did the trick. Thanks.

Why can't cs3 find a newly installed font on my MBP?

I just got a new Macbook Pro running 10.6.7 and installed my old copy of cs3. I can run photoshop but it is not finding my newly added fonts. I've downloaded Hand of Sean from dafont.com and installed it into fontbook at the computer level and at the user level seperately and the font shows up there. it does not appear in photoshop through the text tool nor does it recongonize it in a layer of an old file. I downloaded the Snow Leopard font update and installed and restarted my computer but this did not fix the problem. Has anybody else delt with this problem?

All materials in iMovie has to be handled from within iMovie application. One should not move or alter anything in regard to iMovie on DeskTop/Finder as this can result in a major mess.

hi..
i´m now using the news OS X and the news pages version...
but now my installed font can't be used unter pages...
there is still the standard s*** but not that what i installed as ttf
within the font collection i can see it installed... i still can use it at the notepad... but not in pages..

Just go to Format > Font > Show Fonts and select it there and you should be able to use it.

Cannot get a newly installed Photoshop CS1 application to start up.

I have a PowerMac G5 desktop computer that has been freshly installed with Mac OS X 10.5.4. Using Adobe Creative Suite 1, I did a custom installation of Photoshop CS & ImageReady CS, and also InDesign CS.
InDesign and ImageReady started up with no problems. But after I double-clicked the Photoshop icon I got a window with the message: "Could not complete your request because of missing or invalid personalization information."
So I trashed the Photoshop & ImageReady folder and re-installed them again. But I'm getting the exact same results as before: ImageReady starts up alright, but Photoshop displays the same window and message.
All the other Adobe CS1 applications I've installed are starting up alright. Can you tell me what's causing this problem and how to fix it? Thanks for your help!

Interesting solution here...
1. Control+Click the Adobe Photoshop CS application file within the Applications > Photoshop CS folder and select "Show package contents".
2. Open the Contents folder, then open the Resources folder.
3. Locate the USERREG file in the Resources folder, and drag it to the desktop. Keep the Resources folder open.
4. Control+Click the Adobe ImageReady CS application file within the Applications > Photoshop CS folder and select "Show package contents".
5. Open the Contents folder, then open the Resources folder.
6. Locate the USERREG file in the Resources folder, and copy it to the Resources folder for Photoshop.
7. Launch Photoshop, and launch ImageReady to be sure the file was copied to Photoshop.

Newly installed Font not showing up in Illustrator. Can anyone shed some light as to why?

I've recently installed .otf version of New Century Schoolbook into FontBook. It's working fine in all my other Adobe programs (CS6 CC) but for some reason, it just doesn't seem to want to work inside of Illustrator.
Can anyone give me a hand getting this font up and running?

Have a feeling the alphabetical order may strange like mine on that font. Did they tag the menu name to have Adobe bur invisible, not sure. Also Check for the calssic menu name not matching font name of "ITC New Century Schoollbook".

Font book doesn't show a preview of a newly installed font

I purchased the postscript ITC font Zapf Dingbat. It appears in the Font Book list, but there isn't a preview. It works fine in Illustrator, put it appears as Helvetica in Text Edit. Quark Xpress lists it in the font menu, but it doesn't appear in the document on screen. It does, however, print correctly and show up in PDFs I create from the Quark document. Any ideas?

None of my fonts show up when they are first added. I just get a blank.
Another problem - I added and used Times New Roman PS on Monday and used it in a document -
Tuesday came back to same document, checked Font Book and the font was still active - except it wasn't. It defaulted on printing. Rechecked Font Book and it was activated. So I deactivated it and reactivated it and it worked. Why?
We also have to change Macs here because one Font Book will not use Helvetica today and another will. Tomorrow will be a different story. Why can't Font Book be reliable?

How to add newly installed fonts for titles?

I'm having a problem. I recently installed a few new fonts into my Mac's font library. It seems that Adobe does not pick up on these downloads. Is there a way that I can transfer these unique fonts into my Adobe Premiere Pro CC program?

You cannot 'transfer' fonts to Premiere, they must reside in the appropriate folder on the Mac.
The fonts need to be True Type.

Newly installed font but document still says 'missing font'

When I opened a Pages template that was sent to me for work, it said the font Dakota was missing. So I proceeded to download the font and it is now in my Font Book. However, when I tried opening the document again, it still said the font is missing. Whats weird is that when making edits, I see the font Dakota under the list of fonts and am able to choose it. How do I fix it such that when I open the file, the font Dakota will be used automatically?

Bridge CS4 not using newly installed Enhanced Image Processing Photoshop script

Hi all,
Hope someone can help here. We just added this Photoshop extention: Enhanced Image Processor by Manovi to our Photoshop CS4's Presets/Scripts folder. Here's my problem. The new image processor opens and runs great - in Photoshop. But when I'm in Bridge CS4 and choose Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor it opens/uses the old script. Does Bridge cache this kind of thing or what's going on.
How can I get Bridge to use the new image processor? (note: Old script was replaced by new one in Photoshop's preset/scripts folder - the old one is no longer there - although we did save a copy of it elsewhere)

I don't have CS4… but in CS5 the paths to the files in Photoshop's scripts folder are coded into the functions that call them… Bridge reads these files on request evaluates them then runs… I would suspect the file name may differ from what it's looking for… Have you tried calling it the same and placing it in the same location? If this fails you may need someone to edit the Bridge startup script (not a job for the faint hearted)… Sorry but that ain't going to be me it uses localized strings don't understand them yet… Paul R may well say he can do it I don't know… So NOT cached… but possibly NOT read either in you case…

IC WebClient - Install Font Types Mail Forms

I hope you experts can help me out with the following issue:
With the IC_MANAGER business role it's possible to create/maintain mail forms. To do this, go to "Knowledge Management" in the left menu and after that select Mail Forms.
In here you can maintain your mail forms. I want to extend the font types. Now I only have the font types: Times New Roman, Arial and Courier. I want to extend thist list with 'Verdana'.
Does anybody know how this works?

Hello Maarten,
1. Upload the TrueType font through transaction SE73 in the backend system.
2. Maintain the table TBTFFONTMAP throught transaction SM30
Logon to the webclient and you should be able to use the newly installed font.

Is it possible to digitally sign a jar file that will be used to install CF in WebSphere?

I am currently working for a contractor for the DoD. We are maintaining a project that uses CF installed as an application through WebSphere. We are currently going through a security checklist and being asked to provide evidence that the CF application has a digital signature. From what we can gather they are looking to see that the jar file installed into WebSphere is digitally signed. We have reached out to IBM, and have received a response that digital signatures are recognized by WebSphere.
Unfortunately, it seems that those that are looking for the evidence do not know much more than what the checklist requirement states. They cannot provide more details or expand on what they need. Any assistance or advice in this matter would be appreciated.

That is correct. The CA has verified, and is certifying, that you are who you claim to be. If you or I use a 'self signed' certificate, it does not carry the same level of trust. As you might understand already, the dialogs are different between the two certificate types, and some users cannot accept trusted code from an unverified (self-signed) certificate.
I have been meaning to write a page on the differences between the two certificates. It is well worth looking into getting a cert. from a CA.
There was a stage when one of the major CAs were offering 'freemail' certificates that came emblazoned not with your name, but 'free mail' itself. I did not like them because of that, and continue to use a self-signed certificate.

Install Adobe Air application (.air file) from command line in Mac OS X

Is there a pure command line utility to install Adobe AIR applications (.air files) in Mac OS X?

Thanks for your reply. I already knew that command but it's good to see it again.
In the meantime I have found a tool called ARH (AIR Redistribution Helper) which can be used to install an air application, uninstall an air application, etc.
Now I would like to create a .pkg file (for Mac OS X) that will use ARH together with my .air file and that will install or update (uninstall/install) the application. But I guess this is no more an issue for Adobe AIR. I have to learn the tools specific for Mac (Iceberg, Xcode).

Where are the installed fonts?

I did an upgrade from Pagemaker 7.0 to InDesign 5.5. I used my installed fonts in Pagemaker without problems. Now, if I opened a Pagemaker document in InDesign there was missing the font. If I'm using MS Word the font will be avaliable.Also it works in an old Photoshop version (5.5). Now I realised when opening the document in Pagermaker again the error comes "Font not found". What can I do to use my installed fonts in new Adobe products?

Is Pagemaker still installed? (InDesign will show the path to fonts used, I'm not able to recall if Pagemaker has a similair function, but it may be looked into)

5.5 would not be an old Photoshop...

Clean and tidy fonts between application 1.1.1 and 10G

i am testing Apllication Server 10G on forms and i have noticed a differnce between the clean and tidy fonts that are in application 1.1.1 and forms 10g.
in application 1.1.1 the fonts visualized when i run forms on the application are very clean and tidy (i use standard arial fonts)
in application 10g the same froms visualized the fonts are NOT clean and tidy and it is difficul to view !!!
What kind of problem is this ???
The situation is worst than the old version or i have forgotten some thing ???
The installation is a standard installation !!!

we are speaking of high end routers that are expected to process tens of thousands of flows per second even just differentiating on source and destination ip addresses there should be enough variety in your traffic to use the parallel CEF links in a fair way.
CEF uses an EXOR of ip source and ip destination and an hash seed that changes only when the system is reloaded.
etherchannel can use EXOR of different fields:
MAC SA exor MAC DA
IP SA exor IP DA
L4 SA port exor L4 DA port
but only one of them applies to a type of traffic at a specific time.
Or you expect a few very high volume flows on the links (DR or DB synchronization just to say)
So to answer your question, unless used for connecting two data centers, I don't expect to gain in fairness by using a bundle.
