Using Nokia Maps favorites into Nokia Drive

Hello everyone,
is there a way to use my Nokia maps favorites into Nokia drive ?, i don't understand why we don't still have that option in a menu somewhere already.

Which lumia have you got? If you have a wp8 device and the latest Nokia Maps update you should be able to access your favourites using Nokia Maps and navigate from there which will automatically start Nokia Drve.

Hi, the latest Ovi Maps version for N82 enables you to synchronise your favourite to your Nokia Account (A common account that enables you to sign in and use most of the online services from Nokia, particularly the Ovi services, which Ovi Maps is one of them). Do you have a Nokia Account?
This enables you to bring your favourite online and sync to any other phone that supports them. I am not sure if N900 has this option in its version of Ovi Maps?

Why have not pre-installed Nokia map in my nokia 5...

Hi everybody:
I come from Taiwan. I bought a nokia 5220 in my country but I found my phone have not pre-installed Nokia map. It's look like usually in my country. I browsed many websites they mentioned that Nokia 5220 has pre-installed "Nokia map" in the device in Europe. Does this application disabled in my country or something else?
ps. I have checked Menu > Organiser > but it doesn't have "Maps".

You can install the portable Firefox 3.6.x version, that comes with its own profile, to access websites that do not work with Firefox 5+.

You probably need to create a new profile because the SQLite version used in Firefox 3.5 is not compatible the the SQLite version that is used by current Firefox versions.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

How do download Nokia Maps files for Nokia C6-00 o...

Recently I found an update files to my Nokia C6-00 Nokia Maps file,
I stucked at 81MB of 99MB and prompted the download is timeout.
I have fail download for 3 times.
Is there any where I can download the file manually for Malaysia map ?

Assuming that your C6-00 is running Nokia Maps v3.06 here you are Malaysia
Should howver you be running Nokia Maps 3.04 (unlikely) you would need Malaysia
Base map/ClientIndex is not altered frequently so older version usually suffices.
If you need any further help on deploying decompressed .zip of (16) folders 0 - 9 and a - f to E:\cities\diskcache, please post again.

Use dvt map component into adf mobile

Hello,
I'm just wondering if it's possible to use the dvt map component into an adf mobile application or if there's another way to display a map coming from mapviewer.
Does anybody know it there are any limitations?

Currently DVT Map component is not supported for ADF Mobile. Alternatively you could look at embedding Google Maps or just invoke Google Maps from your app. On iOS and Android, if you create a link with something like ("http://maps.google.com/maps?q=<Text or EL Expression containing the value of the address you want to search>"), then native Google Maps application would be launched to display that address. You can also embed a Google Map in your page as an image as well - check Google Map's site for details of how to issue an URL that could return an image containing Google Maps and search results.

Use of Data cable into NOKIA E61 smartphone

I recently purchased a NOKIA E61 model smartphone. I pushed the data cable into the slot at the bottom of the mobile phone and successfully transferred data from my laptop into the mobile phone. Now I am unable to remobe the data cable from the mobile phone. It seems there is a locking arrangement. But in the data cable head , there is nothing to push and unlock the data cable from the slot. I am afraid to exert force lest it breaks the lock of the data cable head. Can anybody suggest the technique to take out the data cable? I could not find anything (picture) in the Operator's mannual of the phone. I am working in a Oilfield which is far away from the nearest city. you cannot pull outwards, you can appy tangential force either up or down.i mean to say force in the angle of 45 degree like this \.Hope this will help.

Cann't connect to nokia map server with nokia suit...

this is very seriously problem,because i have problem to connect to map server,a view minute download, it seem have speed 2,4 mbps, but it stop and say, "you work in ofline mode". Any body can help me for solve this problem???

Need to know what device you are using here as in a last resort you could always download map data as compressed .zip, decompress it and install manually. It sounds as if you have a very poor internet connection and it is timing out.

HT4527 if i want to keep my iTunes on a external hard on step 4 I would just reset and use the map to the hard drive? also will this keep all info of the files? I do not want to loss all the play counts and tags

I'm upgrading to a new macbook pro mid 2012 with a Solid state drive from a macbook due 2 white that I have a 750 gb HD. My itunes is 95% of that Hard drive I just want to make sure I do not loss any of my itunes info in the move to the hard drive.

So, everything worked out just fine!
I have all my material in the ProRes Codec on a seperate drive now. The project itself was kept or rather duplicated, the bin structure etc stayed the same but is linking to the newly created files. The playback and workflow is fluent. I am happy!
Time info: For about 120 GB of material the codec change process took 25 hours.

N95 Nokia Maps 2.0 crashing

Help !
Last week I updated the firmware on my unbranded N95 to the latest 21.0.016 and udated Nokia Maps, then went a drive in the car to use the free trial and it worked perfectly.
As I was going on holiday at the start of the week, I purchased the 30day useage and also the traffic info update.
On Monday we set of on our holidays, we stopped at a service station and before leaving I put on Nokia Maps, within minutes it had pinpointed my location, but it kept asking to close my current connection and every time i did it the phone turned off!
If i selected no, it would let me select my destination and then crash!
I have lots of applications installed, so i removed anyone that used the GPS function (ie Picture locator) and it still does not work.
The only items that remain live (that I know of) when the phone is on is Step Counter & M-Panel, i removed M-Panel and turned of Step Counter and it does not make any difference at all.
I am annoyed that I have spent money and I cant use it, also the Traffice Info never worked anywhere I went, it kept saying (not availabe). Even when on M74 & M6
I went on to Nokia FAQ when I came back from holidays and it is a known problem,
I have re-installed Nokia Maps 2.0 and maps / voices but it still crashes.
Has anyone experienced this?

UPDATE:
Now MAPS 2.0 loads perfectly connecting to WIFI LAN but as I zoom in closer as I get to street view it crashed out eveytime. and zooming into recent find the same.
Tried GPS ASSISTED, crashes out
Tried Just Network BAsed but crashes the same.
And before I was able to do everything except LIVE GPS Voice Assisted guidance but it would PREVIEW the Journey and the Voice used to work, its now totally unusable.

Nokia Maps / Ovi Maps Installer

Hi All,
I heard that we were now able to get maps and navigatoin for free, is this correct? I have a n95 and when I go to use the navigation feature in Nokia Maps (just updated it), it says that navigation is a premium service and that I have to pay for it.
I thought there might be a new program available so I tried to install Ovi Maps from the Ovi Store on the phone but it just gets to "preparing to install" and then says "Update Error" and quits.
I have tried reinstalling the firmware but get the same response. Does anybody know what is going on, have I missed something?

As your phone is a S60 5th edition, I believe that the last stable release of Nokia Maps was 3.06. Versions afterwards like 3.07, 3.08 and 3.09 were solely for Symbian^3 devices running Symbian^3, Symbian Anna and Nokia Belle: http://betalabs.nokia.com/trials/ovi-maps-for-mobile-v3-07/download_and_installation I'm not too sure if 3.06 graduated from Beta Labs into Nokia Store, but you can always check Nokia Store for the latest version listed there.
Yes, you could always switch your SIM card and memory card with your son's phone if you believe it is a software issue, or that it is a hardware issue. Likewise, checking the Maps data and installations when your phone is connected to your computer in Nokia Suite. Apart from Nokia Suite and Nokia Maps on the Nokia website to download the installation files, there is not really any other place to source the installation files.

Nokia Maps Crashes

Hi,
Loaded Nokia Maps 2 on my N95 with 1gig memory card in phone. Problem i have is that Maps shuts down after about an hour of driving. I have the incar charger plugged into the phone when the maps are in use.
The phone software is V12.0.013

on the UK 3 network.

The Nokia instructions do say that if you install the Nokia Maps 2 into N95, the phone must have the latest 20.0.15 firmware in it.
Also I think that the 1 GB card is too small for Maps. Especially the satellite maps take space. Downloading a single city takes several hundreds of megabits (> 100 Mb).

All users are complaining about NOKIA MAP Loader. Nokia is not giving any answers. So, we don't want to became nokia betatesters. Stop using this application... it is the biggest **bleep** i have ever seen!

I think route dragging should be implemented. It is a pain in the neck to always use additional waypoints, just to find the correct route

N82 Nokia Maps update fail

I have a problem with my phone. The phone was turned off by mistake during Nokia Maps update. Nokia Maps do not work at all now. When i push button "Maps", I don't get any reaction. Nothing happens. Could you please give me a piece of advice, how i can to reinstall Nokia Maps or something else? I was trying Nokia Maps Loader, but it did not help me...

Try reinstalling it using the same procedure you used whe updating. If this works fine but if it doesn't then you have to reinstall the previous version and then try updating again.
Because Nokia Maps is embeded in the firmware, to reinstall the original Nokia Maps version, you have to reinstall the firmware. To do this, you have to use the *#7370# reformat phone code. Before reformatting you need to backup all data in your phone because your phone will be wiped.
After reinstalling the firmware, you will find that you are back to the previous version of Nokia Maps. Now try updating again. After you successfully update, delete the "Cities" folder on the memory card, use Nokia Maps at least once. Now finally you can use Map Loader to download latest maps.

E90: Nokia Map Manager 1.1

Has anyone got this working? How does it work? What does it do?
I have Nokia Suite 7.0.7.0 installed on Win XP Pro.
Do I have to have the phone connected via USB in Data mode or PC Suite mode?
I have "My Maps Folder" set to
G:\Installs\Nokia E90\Maps 2.0\Maps
(this directory is empty)
I have my "Searching in root folder" set to
G:\Installs\Nokia E90\Maps 2.0
(this directory has the Maps 2.0 installs etc)
My Phone is connected, it shows the memory available, I have used Nokia Map Loader 2.0.2 to download and install Australia maps, they seem to be there when I run Maps 2.0 (Nokia_Maps_2.0_2204_3.1_u.sis) on my E90 (FW Version 07.24.0.3)
I just see nothing in the Map Manager.
Am I missing something?

The map manager is for the 6110nav only. This is because it uses route 66 for it's navigation not nokia maps.

Nokia Maps quits at the 40% mark

Hi,
I have a N79 and the Nokia Maps app doesn't work.
At first, it woudn't launch at all. After I downloaded the latest version of Nokia Maps from the nokia site, it would only show the splash screen, but it would quit again at the 40% mark.
I've also installed Google Maps, and that won't launch at all.
Things I've already done:
* updated firmware
* installed latest nokia maps software
* downloading maps using nokia map loader.
* deleted CITIES folder on microSDCard (someone adviced me)
On an other forum someone adviced me to format the microSDCard. Though it should work even withouth the card in it.

Are you running v11.049 or v20.175, check by keying in *#0000# on standby screen? If answer is the former then this is a known issue so don't waste your time here. Normally application quitting at this point is due to disparity between Maps version and downloaded maps, which you would seem to have covered already.
