Using Nokia Music in another country, i.e. Music S...

Hello Nokia,
I am currently using Nokia Lumia 920 that I bought from UAE and now using in India. My Nokia ccount is set to India and my phone region is also India. Unfortunately, for me, I could not access Nokia Music Store and Mix Radio etc. services. When I launch the app, these options show for a while and then disappear. I know it's because I am accessing it in another country. I don't want to know why it is impossible for a user to access the Music Store in another country, rather I want Nokia to come up with a solution for people who buy their phones from another region (for various reasons) and then use it somewhere else. I don't have a Nokia Music Unlimited subscription, I just want to browse Music from the Store and buy it if I like. Further, I want Nokia Mix Radio. Please, fix this thing. I am leaving my country for my studies, so I'll be in a different region for the next few years. Does this mean I have to buy a new phone whenever I move? This is just impossible. I hope I get some positive response on this. Please don't give me links to other similar posts, I have read them all and they're of no help.
Thanks.
Nokia Lumia 920

Think you already got a satisfactory explanation in another thread (not posting the link) as your post there-in suggests. This being a Peer-to-Peer Forum there is nothing more that you can get here officially from Nokia. You need to use any channel thru' THIS link to get an Official response from Nokia .

Just go to the store's website and buy tracks the normal way. Almost all online music download stores will sell you music no matter where you live. The only exceptions are the stores that sell major label music, e.g. the iTunes Store and Amazon, which restrict by country of residence.

Make sure the music you are buying is in MP3 format. MP3 is a universal format and plays the same anywhere.

  • Getting Music from Another Country

Im a big fan of japanese rock and other music but it wont let me purchase music under the japanese music store. Can anyone tell me how to do this or if it is possible.

Expanding a bit, in order to buy from another country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
This, BTW, is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice.

  • Can I use vouchers to purchase iTunes Store music in another country?

Someone suggested that I can buy iTunes Store vouchers from eBay and then click "REDEEM" on iTunes Store to buy music EVEN IF I live in a country which does not have iTunes Store. But Apple is trying to make life really difficult for us. In the Q&A section of the iTunes website, Apple says:
"Gift certificates and gift cards purchased on the iTunes Store are valid for use only in the country in which they were purchased. Gift certificates purchased in the United States may only be redeemed by residents of the United States."
Not only that, those who have access to iTunes Store are making unreasonable profits from selling those vouchers. A US$15 iTunes Store voucher is sold for $18.
Can someone advise what I should do?

As I understand Apple's position - the update to the iPT is considered a major update - much like going from OSX 10.4 to 10.5 - hence the decision to require payment. I also understand that the iPT will work without the update - hence the device is still usable.
I too am not a lawyer. To purchase via the legal outlets is the right thing to do and if I were a musician I would thank you for doing the right thing.
To purchase a card via e-bay and complaining that there was a mark up - the mark up was not from Apple - it is from the person that is selling the card on e-bay. It may not be a violation of copyright - but it is possibly a violation of distribution rights.
This discussion has been hashed out here in the forums many times so I will let you do a search if you want to know more about why Apple has to have different stores for different countries. If it were up to me the one-size-fits-all model would be my preference.

  • Can I use iTunes Match in another country?

My UK iTunes Match subscription renewed automatically in December. I have moved to Amsterdam and don't want to change my country settings for my iTunes account, nor create a new one. My Music collection seems intact as usual, but I can't seem to complete a full download from the cloud for albums or individual tracks. Does anyone know what's happening?

    Hi,
You will need to cancel your existing iTunes and resubscribe in the country that you are now resident. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5432
Make sure all you music is downloaded and backed up.

  • Purchasing Music from another Country Store

    Hi,
I dislike the fact that I can't get music from other store than the one from my country. As an example, on the USA store, there is much more albums from internationnal artists than on the Canadian store. That's a bit annoying. Some older albums that I can preview, but I can't buy.
    Thanks.
    Mac-Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   I like vintage bands

Copyright holders for content vary from country to country, so until the Canadian copyright holders for any content you might be interested in, allow Apple to distribute, there is nothing Apple can do.

  • Can I use Nokia prepaid in a country other than wh...

We bought a Nokia 113 prepaid phone in Switzerland using Orange Communications. We are going to Italy and would like to use the same phone. Is it possible to use this phone by buying a SIM card in Italy using Telecom Italia? Is it that easy?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yeah. If your phone is not carrier locked and Telecom Italia uses same GSM frequency as your own carrier, the new sim will work without any issues

  • Can I purchase music from another country?

I want to purchase the track "Empires" by a British artist named Lamya.  She passed away and it is a very good song.  I can see that the song is for sale on the US iTunes site but it says I cannot purchase it because I am in Canada. How can I access it?  I don't understand why there is a restriction for this.  If I went to the UK and bought the CD there, I could bring it back to Canada and it wouldn't be a problem.  If I bring my laptop to the US and purchased it while in the US, would I be able to keep it on my laptop, iphone when I returned to Canada?

You can't - the Terms of Use of the stores state that you can only buy from the country that you are in (e.g. due to licensing/distribution terms etc)

  • Using Apple TV on another country

    Hello,
I am going back to Spain on christmas holidays and I was wondering whether if an Apple TV brought in the USA would work in Spain.
    THX

It should since the power adapter is built into ATV, so 240V 50hz is not an issue. However in order for you to rent movies from iTunes I believe it has to be connected to a U.S. iTunes account. I got a friend in Sweden that run his ATV first generation just fine, but he has an U.S. bank account with a credit card connected to that. I would also assume that movies and music added to your iTunes account on your Mac or PC should stream just fine as that part is not connected to a credit card, I have myself added movies manually in iTunes and they stream beautifully to my ATV.

  • HT5012 Why can't I use my iPhone in another country

I bought my iphone5s in UK with a T-mobile sim in it and came back to Nigeria my home town. To use the iPhone 5s in Nigeria, using a Nigerian SIM card (MTN), it then refuse to activate the phone. It sent a message saying carrier server not supported...

Usually this is done with a phone call. It will be up to you to learn how to call the UK from Nigeria.
Start from this website, then follow their instructions.

  • Is it possible to use iphone4s bought in another country in US?

Hi I'm currently in Korea, and planning to stay here for 5 months. I need a phone in Korea and what i thought I could do is I can buy iphone4s here and use for 5 months, and after 5 months, take it to US and use it in US with verizonwireless line (which I currently have but temporarily stopped because i'm not using it for 5months, and plus, I lost my iphone4 so I'm trying to buy it in korea and take it to US). But what I heard is I can't use it with verizonwireless like regular iphones that we use in US.
Please answer my question. Thank you!!

A phone purchased in Korea would likely be a GSM phone. This won't work on the Verizon Wireless network since it uses CDMA for its voice network. A GSM phone will work on a GSM network here in the USA. How well will depend on the radio frequencies of the phone.

  • I wanna use my ID to another country.

I created my ID in America, but I wanna use to my ID in South Korea too.
    Would you help me?

And switching back and forth between countries can make real havoc of the content that you have purchased.
If you qualify with legal residency in both nations and the requisite bank credentials, I suggest, as one who has done this, that you create a wholly new Apple ID for Korea and authorize your Apple/PC products to use the content of both Apple IDs. As a caveat to my suggestion, be aware that in signing into one Apple ID on a device you may activate the Apple 90 day policy and not be able to change to the other Apple ID on that device until 90 days have passed.

  • Using the charger in another country.

I bought my MBP in Hong Kong. I'm about to go back to Canada. i was wondering if the charger is able to switch voltages on its own without the help of an adapter.

All that's needed is an adapter so the plug fits the outlet. The MBP's power adapter runs on 100-240 V an d 50 or 60 Hz, so it works worldwide.
