Is it possible to copy the song I purchase from itunes to my Nokia N95?

Only the iPod/iPhone range and the iTunes enabled phones from Motorola are compatible with iTunes for Windows and with copy protected songs from the iTunes Music Store. If you don't have one of these devices you can't play the songs in their protected state. You may be able to get your phone to connect to iTunes and add non DRM encoded songs to it with the aid of a third party helper program. Does anybody know if the new Nokia N95 can be synced up with Mac. The nokia website only mentions the PC suite for windows. I have managed to download photos via the usb cable, but would like to download maps for the built-in satnav, transfer videos music etc...
My dusty 5 year old PC laptop has been in the cupboard for 2 years since I bought my first Mac and I'd rather not go back and upgrade eveything just to make the most of this cool new device.

Out of the box, it has been my pratice to reformat my phone, so I have lost the maps. When I tried to download Philippines map (1.3 mb) it took me an hour to complete the download.

Sync Nokia n97 with iTunes?

I've read many different ways and some which don't seem to work so here goes!
I have a PC with the up to date iTunes where ALL my music is stored. How do I sync my Nokia n97 with iTunes?
Any help is appreciated!

There's a free app / iTune plugin that makes your N97 appear as a playlist in Itunes but you can't (or couldn't) then create separate playlists for use on the phone.
I've found the best way for me is to do the following:
Create your playlist in Itunes
Create the PLaylist in Ovi Music
Darg and drop the files from itunes to Ovi
Sync the Ovi Playlist with your N97
Bit painful but it works

I have an ipod nano and have been using it sucessfully with itunes. Yesterday I purchased two more and I don't know how to manage the music that I want and what the others will use. Any suggestions?

Using one iPhone with iTunes on two PCs

Hi. Is it possible to use one iPhone with iTunes [one user account] on two PCs?
I have a desktop at home, but I'm unable to use it to update my iPhone software. I've tried several times to get to the bottom of the problem, but when I update my phone, it goes into recovery mode. As a result, I loose everything on my phone. I eventually stopped updating my phone, but now I can't get some apps to work because my iphone software are not up-to-date.
I have now authorized my PC at work in order to update my phone. It has done it successfully, but I have lost my music. Everything else is fine. Will I be able to add my music files using the PC at home?
If it works, from now on I will use my PC at work to update and back-up my phone. I know I will probably loose my music every time I do this, but it is the only way around this problem. It just means adding my music files again at home from time to time.

You can sync an iPhone with iTunes on another computer but not for any iTunes content, and you can transfer photos from a single computer only.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced or manually managed with music and videos with an iTunes library on a single computer ONLY. When transferring any iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first. If you don't have Sync Music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and you don't have manually manage music and videos selected either with iTunes on another computer, you can sync away. If you transfer photos from another computer, all photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.
The reason you can manually manage music and videos with iTunes on multiple computers with most iPods is because most iPods support disk mode, which the iPhone does not support. Disk mode is not supported with the iPhone, the iPod Touch, and the iPad.

When using a NAS with iTunes, will iTunes ask if a file should be deleted and then delete it from the NAS?

I had some bad luck moving to a NAS earlier this year. I'm trying again now after getting a new hard drive.
One thing I encountered previously was that it seemed like if I deleted say a podcast or TV show manually that I had watched, I did not get the usual confirmation asking if I wished to delete the file. More importantly, the file did not seem to delete from the NAS. I had to go through twice the work to remove it from itunes and then again from the NAS.
Is that how it is supposed to work if the Itunes media is on a NAS? Not sure if it was some sort of issue with my previous problems or if that is how it works with itunes and a NAS device?

It all depends on what your setup is. So if you have upgraded to iCloud Photo Library, then any changes that are made will be reflected on all devices that have that turned on. You delete a photo on your iPhone, then on iCloud.com you will not see it because it has been deleted. If you are not using iCloud Photo Library, then you will need to delete the photo on all devices to where it shows up. Keep in mind that if this was done very quickly, then it may not have been uploaded to your My Photo Stream as you need to make sure that you are on Wi-Fi and the Camera app be completely closed out. Transfering Music using Home Sharing with iTunes 9.2.1

I used home sharing on many occasions in earlier versions of iTunes just for playing music. The shared libraries had a small house icon next to them. Everything was fine and dandy until I decided to step it up a bit, by attempting to transfer music from my main library (on my iMac with iTunes 9.2.1) to my PC laptop (running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with iTunes 9.2.1). A cryptic error message was shown when i tried to drag a song from my shared iMac library to my hard drive library (on my pc), following the icon for the library changing to a blue stack of music notes. I then tried the reverse, attempting, on my imac, to change the home sharing settings so that my library would sync with my pc's library, after which the icon changed to the blue stack of music notes. In both cases, the "Settings..." button and "Import" buttons disappeared as shown in the following graphic:

Both computers now will play each other's library music but will not allow for me to change home sharing settings nor transfer the music.
If anyone knows how to rectify this issue or can better explain why iTunes is acting this way, please respond to this post. Your responses will be greatly appreciated.

(a) iTunes on all machines must be authorized for the same iTunes store account
(b) all machines must be on the same network
(c) all machines must have access to the internet.

According to Apple, payment methods accepted include iTunes store credit, credit cards, and debit cards. Presumably this means that if you redeem the gift card to create an iTunes store credit, the upgrade would be charged against this credit. If you want to confirm this, call the Apple online store at the number shown at the bottom of this page.

No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.

I'd like to get the new iPod Nano, but I have Mac OS 10.2.8, so I can't get iTunes 7. It says on the system requirements that I need 7, but is it really necessary? (i.e. is it possible to use the new iPod Nano with iTunes 6?)

While I haven't tried, I would image the answer is no.
Usually when iPods are released with a new iTunes version, they aren't made to be/are made not to be compatible with previous iTunes versions.
It may work, but I can't be sure either way (someone else may have tested this).
In the past, even if iTunes updated the iPod, there tended to be problems syncing.

New iPods need iTunes 7.0.2 minimum, to funcion properly.

Using another computer with iTunes to charge iPod

I have an 8gb 2nd gen ipod nano formatted for windows. Can I connect it to another windows computer and not have it automatically try to update and just charge it instead? Same goes for a mac? My music is on my desktop (PC) which is where I sync the ipod, but I also have a macbook and a sony laptop and I don't want my ipod to update with the music on the laptops. I just need to charge my ipod using the laptops.

You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys. On a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. However the safest thing to do if you want to connect to multiple computers regularly is to change the update preference to "Manually manage music and videos":

Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. Sync used new iPad with iTunes w/o setting as new device or restoring

few weeks after using new iPad that never synced with iTunes (backing up to iCloud), i want to sync iBooks and Aperture photos from iTunes library.
But, when i connect my iPad to iTunes using usb cable, there are only two choices: Set as new device or restore from older backup. I dont want to sync anything but iBooks and photos. What could i do?

Hmm, is Whitson's iPad the current name of the device, or an earlier iPad? Does that image you've shown occupy the entire iTunes window or is the usual column of library sources and playlists shown down the left-hand side. If the list is there then the iPad should appear as a device that you can right/option/cmd-click on. Failing that with all your purchases having come from the store you should be able to set up as new device and then reacquire all your store content but that would lose any data and settings. I suppose that after restoring as new, then backing up to the machine, you could then try restoring the backup from the cloud, and then if needed go through the original process as I suggested.
You might find that if you opt to set up as new nothing actually changes until you choose some content to sync, which may give you the opportunity to use the process I've previously outlined. Sorry I can't be clearer but I know that method has worked for a few people who have had to switch computers after a crash. I'm not personally familiar with the process under your precise circumstances.
The "cut the cord" feature which allowed you to set up the device without connecting to a computer is all well and good but if you have to go through this sort of effort when the time comes that you want to hook up your device to a library on your computer it becomes a complete nightmare.
