Using nokia's E series of phones with linksys

Hello,
I wonder if it is possible to use one of Nokia's mobile phones (E60,E61,E70 with VOIP features ) with any of the Linksys products? If so, what products are needed?
Grtz,

@ Mountain2k : What kind of scenario are you looking for? Using a Linksys access point/router? Or are you interested in connecting the phone to an SPA9000?
There are two essential pieces to tracking down a problem with your VoIP equipment:
The configuration of every device involved
SIP protocol traces
And don't forget: there's no such thing as giving too much information when describing a problem.

  • Registering SPA500 series IP phone with CME 8.6

Hello friends. I'm newbie with CME configuration, but now I'm asked to register SPA504G phones onto a CME 8.6 installed on a Cisco 2911 router using SIP protocol. I'm testing with a SPA 502G phone with software version 7.4.7. Within  "voice register global"  configuration I can't find "load" command for thisphoone model. About phone files, I only found "spa50x-30x-7-4-8a.bin" file for this phone and loaded into flash: unit.
How can I make SPA 500G phone be registered with this CME? I would appreciate somebody can help me with a guide to achieve this.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards
    Joe

    I have the same problem.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

  • Nokia Cannot support its own phones with PCsuite!!

Is it my imagination or is it true that Nokia PC Suite cannot support Nokia Phones?!
I have a very simple question for Nokia:
I have an E90, each contact on my phonebook on the E90 has multiple numbers, a contact may have 2 mobile numbers, 3 business numbers, 2 home numbers, so unless Nokia considers it illegal for a person to have all these numbers, would it be so kind and let us know how to edit all these numbers using the PC Suite?!
Because if my eyesight serves me right, that blind PC suite cannot see all numbers! It's like it's a 3rd party product! Hell, even 3rd party products like Oxygen phone manager can do a much better job!
So for how long shall I keep holding my breath every time a new release of PC Suite shows up and it turns out to be a complete joke, just a layout change! No core difference!
    Thanks!
    Farouk

    No luck
I will give you an example:
I created a contact for Honda Company as follows:
    Tel.(Business)
    xxxxxxxxx
    Tel.(Business)
    xxxxxxxxx
    Tel.(Business)
    xxxxxxxxx
Service Appointment (this is a renamed label)
    xxxxxxxxx
    Service Center
    xxxxxxxxx
    Service Center 2
    xxxxxxxxx
When using the Nokia PCSuite 7, trust me I clicked all tabs everywhere in Simple and Advanced screen, all I see is only one number, the very first Tel.(Business) one, and it appears again in the advanced tabs, but I never get to see all those numbers with renamed labels! It's really frustrating, and thanks again for posting.

  • 7900 series IP Phone with third party Gateway/PBX system expansion

    Hello,
I have a question about 7942G phone and 7937G phone.
A customer wants to add 4x7942G and 1x7937G phone to their existing system.
They currently have third party IP Gateway/PBX system with POE and having Cisco 3x7911G IP phones. Their current install/config is fully operational.
I have few doubts to ask:
Just by adding/connecting/configuring  7942G, 7937G  to the existing system will work?
7942G has option for Channels ( CP-7942G-CH1 ----  According to 7942G data sheet) Do customer have to use this model?
    Thank you

    1. Really should ask PBX system vendor
    2. These all are the same exact identical device.

  • Using Cisco 7961 Phones with Linksys SRW208P POE Switch

I am having a problem getting our Cisco 7961 phones to work with a Linksys SRW208P POE switch. The internet works great , but when I connect a 7961 Cisco phone it hangs at the " configuring IP " screen. Are these model phones compatible with this switch? Any Ideas. Thank You!

I'm having a similar problem with the Cisco 7941G phones using a Linksys SLM224G4PS (with PoE). Did you ever get them to work?
The 7941Gs work with the plain Linksys SR224 and using power injectors, but not with the smart switch. It has nothing to do with the PoE, I've used the power injectors with the SLM224G4PS. It wasn't a current overload problem.
I've gotten the phones to work for somewhere between 10-40 seconds, which has given me enough time to find the IP address (DHCP) then pull up the web interface of the Cisco 7941G.
The phone on the SR244 had GARP enabled and Voice VLAN enabled and the operation, the phone on the SLM224G4PS had both disabled.
The working phone on the SR244 had a operational VLAN ID of 31, the non working phone on the SLM224G4PS didn't have any indicated.
I'm guessing that the root of the problem is the Voice VLAN, but tech support tells me that out of the box the switch should pass everything.
    Apparently not so much...

  • Is it ok to use Westell 6100F in non-bridged mode with Linksys router?

I'm a new Verizon DSL customer.
After several attempts I was only able to connect my Verizon 6100F modem with my Linksys wired router in non-bridged mode.  I just changed the IP address in my router, and then released and renewed.  I did this just yesterday and the connection is fine...so far.
Fyi, I'm using the Linksys for its firewall.  I don't need wireless.
Since I didn't bridge the modem, I assume I'm basically using two routers, the 6100F and the Linksys.  Will this cause me issues in the future?
I need to decide whether to try again to bridge the modem or just leave it alone.
    Thanks.

Here are things that I have ever heard of what can happen (or happens) with Double NAT:
#1 Might not possible to get online, depending on the LAN IP of both routers. But it sounds like you already solved that issue.
#2 NAT and Double NAT cause lag/latency.
    I point to two source(s).
    a) URL: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/15872
Title/Location: All DSLR (dslreports.com) FAQs » AT&T Southeast Forum FAQ » Motorola Info » How do I properly set up a Motorola 2210 with a Netgear router.
    b) As to why that theory/concept is true, go to http://www.endlagnow.org/ELN/TakeAction_TopTips.aspx
and read tip number one, there.
#3 If you want to allow users from the net to connect to you, I point to..
http://www.portforward.com/ -> Other Guides -> Port Forwarding Behind Two Routers?
    #4 http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/992
Where they talk about Double NAT, VPNs, and visiting secure (SSL) sites.
#5 Some routers may or may not show up when doing a trace route to the outside.
Another problem with double-NAT is some screen sharing methods may not work. Such as Apple "Back To My Mac".
Using and troubleshooting Back to My Mac in Mac OS X 10.5
I just logged on to this forum to see if I can find the necessary steps to turn my Westel 6100F up to "bridge" so I can use my Linksys WRT54G2v1 as the only router on my home network.
PS, I'm subscribing to this thread in case anyone has a link to step by step for setting this up on the Westel 6100F (I can handle the Linksys end of things).

i have 3 iphone with same apple id, is it possibele i can use whatsapp in all the three phone with same apple id

Whatsapp uses your mobile phone number, not your Apple ID. So you can use it on 3 phones, but each phone will be a different "person" on whatsapp's network.

  • Connect nokia phone with pc using irda

    Hi everybody,
I want to write a java program that will communicate with my nokia 7250i using the ir port. I have already achieved that using nokia pc suite, But i want to create my own application. Firts of all I have to find out how a java program can send data through the ir potr. I guess that java can use ir port as a normal com port but this may be wrong. In order to check this I open hyperterminal and I plug my usb infrared adapter.Hyperterminal cannot see any extra port (it can see only my modem and com3 which is not used by infrared - may be someone know a way to see what is using this port?(1))When I put my phone close to the inrared adapter hyperterminal fids to extra ports com4 and Nokia irda modem. It can not use com4 and when I ask to connect to Nokia irda modem it asks me for a phne number.
Given all the above can somebody suggest me a way for my java program to send data through the infrared adpter?(2)
If you think this is not the thread I should post such topic please propose me onether(3)
Does anybody have a link for similar applications or problems (programs to communicate with phones)(4)

  • Problem In using Nokia PC Suite with the new Nokia...

My Nokia Ahs 310 is a new phone I bought and I tried with it to connect internet through my PC using Nokia PC Suite. But, when I connect phone to the PC it tells that it can't find the drivers and install the new device. And in someyimes in Nokia PC Suite it showed as "connected in non compatible USB".
However I can't log into internet using my Nokia Asha 310. Please help me in this regard.

scoobyman, I think KRNS tries to use his Nokia 310 as modem for his computer. Consequently, no Wi-Fi involved.

This does not affect the Nokia 310 but only Nokia Asha 501, Nokia 301, Nokia 210, and the Nokia 206 – because my Nokia 310 works with Nokia Suite and PC Suite perfectly. Furthermore, The Nokia 301 was tested with the PC Suite successfully. Same for the Nokia 206. Success reports for the Nokia 210 are still missing.

install the latest Nokia Suite. This install the latest Connectivity Cable Driver automatically. Then
install the latest PC Suite (I like its modem handling more)
Nokia 310 » SIM Manager » choose SIM1 (at least for data)
PC Suite » Menu » File » Connect to the Internet
Works here with my Nokia 310, just tested for you. However, I was not able to use SIM2 for the computer. If neither PC Suite nor Nokia Suite worked for you, please say so!

  • I refuse to buy nokia phone with less than 1500 mA...

I realized this after latest addition of E52 with 1500 mAh battery So far, i have purchased about 30 or so Nokia handsets during past 14 years.
The battery Life of E52 is just marvelous. simply amazing. Cant imaging how I survived 14 years exclusively using Nokia phones with less than 1500 mAh battery.
The new touch screen phones like the latest N-800 with HDMI Port has only 1200 mAh battery!!! why not put a 2100 mAh battery on such a beauty? people are going to use the phones more than just making call, this demands more battery power. 1200 mAh battery will last less than a day.... People, expecially myself will be dissapointed in using such a phone with so less battery power.
Granted these days processors are more efficient, but wont it be good if Nokia puts little more juice to their most beautiful touchscreen handsets?
Having less battery power is the main reason i have been holding off my purchase of touch screen phones like N900, and now this N-8.
Please Nokia, please try to put the best in it's class battery for the best in it's class phones.
Even the iPhone 4G has (1200 mAH) less capacity battery than my E52.
My E52 goes on and on for weeks together without charging. On heavy usage it easily lasts for 1 full week!... (never been like this for any of the previous nokia phones...) especially the top of the end models like my old N82
So far, I am very happy with my E52. Wish some thing similar i.e. slim E series comes with touch screen soon.

    Hello kmschmehl-
I cannot truly express how sorry I am to hear about your total experience with the delivery and subsequent return of this fridge.  It certainly sounds as though Best Buy has put you through the ringer and I can absolutely understand your disappointment and anger with us.
While it sounds like some aspects of the purchase and delivery were at least adequate, any opportunity that we had to show you why you should purchase from Best Buy went by the wayside.  However, Best Buy is not in the business to provide merely adequate experiences and I am saddened that this is the best we could summon for your purchase.  We are capable of better than what we showed you.
I’m glad to hear that you have finally been able to get the assistance you needed to get this refund resolved and make you whole again.  In addition, I do hope that you are enjoying the fridge you purchased at Lowe’s.  I certainly wish that it had been a Best Buy fridge in your kitchen instead, but I can understand why you chose to go with another retailer.
It sounds like the store has you in good hands once your card arrives and I believe that the reason they need the physical card is that the credit card company requires it to be physically scanned for returns.  Hopefully you will not run into any further issues with this refund and it’s my hope that sometime in the future, you might grant us another chance at your business.  I will be sending you a Private Message with some additional details as well.  To check your Private Messages, please log into the forum and click on the envelope in the upper right hand corner.
Please let us know if you run into any further concerns.

  • Any Nokia phones with Threaded Text messaging?

I'm looking for a Nokia phone with threaded text messaging.
Rather like the Palm Centro or Iphone:
Anyone know of a basic model that can do it?
I'm currently lusting after the Nokia 3720 Classic and would love if it could organise messages in a more useful way, and banish my thoughts of bulkier handsets. I've loved my Nokia 6030 for a few years but its disintergrating now.

s60 phones are usually the smartphone family the E and N series all run on s60.
6700 new navigator, the 6220c also runs on s60, 5800xm runs on the new gen for touch screens s60
the lower modesl 1xxxxx,2xxxxx,3xxxx, 5xxxx,6xxx (the 6 family is divided and can either run on s40 or s60 depending on the phone) series usually run on s40 platform.  for every phone you can look up specs and it will tell you which platform or operating system the phone runs on
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

  • Cheap nokia phone with bluetooth audio

Hi, I'm looking for a cheap Nokia phone that'll work with my car kit for calls. I like the 225 but that doesn't do it apparently. So something similar if possible.
    Ta

    A) Nokia 215, first model of Series 30+ which got Bluetooth HFP added.
    B) Nokia 208, last model of Series 40, even offers stereo-music (Bluetooth A2DP).
If the Nokia 208 is not avialable in your market, please, have a look for the Nokia 301 (Series 40). If you go for the Single-SIM variants of a Nokia Series 40 based phone, you even get Bluetooth SIM-Access which is required by car-kits with external antenna. Another option would be a used Nokia E52 (Symbian/S60) which allows even Internet access for the next couple of years (because it supports SHA-384 hased SSL certificates).

  • Tutorial - Connecting an Nokia Phone with an iPaq ...

This Tutorial is as a result of a post by qvodude on 13th January 2008.
Tutorial – Connecting an Nokia Mobile Phone to an HP iPaq Pocket PC
This tutorial has been done using a Nokia 6260 (S60 series 2) and an iPaq 5965 travel companion (windows mobile 5).
Turn on the phone and then go to menu>connections>Bluetooth. When you open Bluetooth you are asked to give your phone a name. (I named mine Nokia 6260). Hit ok. Then highlight Bluetooth and select options>change and switch Bluetooth on. Then scroll down to My phones visibility >options > change > shown to all >ok. Your phone is now set up.
Switch on the iPaq. Start > settings > iPaq Wireless and turn Bluetooth on. Then tap done. On the settings page tap on Bluetooth Manager. When you open Bluetooth Manager it gives you a welcome screen. Just follow the instructions. Luckily my phone is in the list so it was fairly simple. If your phone is not in the list then select Generic Dialer or generic generic. The ipaq will then search for devices in range. In my case it picked up my phone and my laptop. I then selected my phone and was asked if I wanted to pair the devices. I said yes accepted the code that was on the screen and then pressed next. A message then appeared on my phone asking if I wanted to pair with my iPaq. I entered the same code that was used on the iPaq and pressed ok. The ipaq then asked if I wanted to connect to the internet and I said no as I did not want to connect at this time.
On my phone if I highlight Bluetooth and scroll right it shows Paired devices > Pocket PC 5965.
I then tested the setup by tapping tools > connect on the iPaq. My phone then asked if I wanted to Accept connection request from pocket PC. I then selected yes and my Pocket PC showed that I was connected to my network (Optus).
I trust that this helps you. If you have any further problems let me know. I will be going away next Thursday 22nd and will not be back until Wednesday 28th. Whilst I am away I will not be in a position to access these forums so if you could get back to me before then I would appreciate it.
    Regards
    Barry
