Using other site structure storage instead on index.portal

Hi.
The question is quite simple. All data about WebLogic portal structure is stored in index.portal XML file. Are there any ways to move data storage from this XML to database, actually to force portal to retrive data about site structure and portlets on pages from database?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

When I click on a link I get sent to a bunch of other sites and the problem doesn't occur when I use windows internet browser.

When I click on a link, whether e-mail, yahoo or other search engines, E-bay, Amazon, etc. I get sent to another site. If I click back and then re-click on the original site I get sent to where I wanted to be. While I am browsing on a web page of any of the above, or other sites, I sometimes get a voice ad or possibly a video, but I can't locate it or turn it off. This does not happen when I use windows internet, or it's Google chrome internet, only with Firefox. I have used Ad aware, and Mal-bytes anti-virus but they come up blank.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. Why is the audio of MSNBC, YouTube and other site videos very low when using Firefox?

For several weeks now, when I view videos from msnbc.msn.com, youtube.com and other videos from other sites, the audio is so low....I can hardly hear it. But when I view the same videos using Google Chrome, the audio is very good.

Did you check the volume setting in the Flash player?
Do those Flash players have a volume button that opens a slider?

Moving pages using Manage Site content and structure is corrupting the version history

Hi,
I am using share point 2010 manage site content and structure feature to move pages from one sub site to other. After doing several edits and check ins of a page and if I try to move the page using manage site content and structure , the version history
is corrupted in the destination site (i.e., all the versions are not showing).
Note: Sometimes content is also getting replicated after performing move operation.
Is it a Bug/ Known issue in SharePoint?
Any info on this issue is very helpful to us.

Mismatch between the Content Database size and the total of each site collection' storage used.

Environment: SharePoint 2010 with SP2.
Issue: One of the Content databases size in our farm shows 200 GB as used. There are 25 site collections in the DB and we counted
the total storage used of all site collections in that Content DB and is not more than 40 GB. (used "enumsites" command and counted the each sitecollections storage used).
What actions/troubleshooting were done?
Ran one script which will find the actual size of site collection and how much space used in the disk. But didn’t find major difference in the report.
Checked “Deleted from end user recycle bin “in all the site collections and no major storage is noticed.
Planning to Detach the problematic Content DB and attach ,will check whether any major effect is there
Why the Content DB shows 200 GB as used when the total storage used of all site collections is just 40 GB.
Appreciate suggestions from any one.

As there is only 20 MB of unallocated space for the above said DB, SQL DB team informed that they cannot perform the DB shrink at this moment.
So we are thinking to Offload all the site collections to other new DB and then will Drop the problematic database. In this way we can overcome the
issue.

No, there is no issue with the mismatched sizes. We are not on short on disk space. We just worried why it occupies that much size(200 GB) when
the total storage used of all site collections in that DB is 40 GB.

Might be a corrupted database ...
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Try turning off the Camera Roll option in Settings>iCloud>Backup & Storage>Manage Storage>Your device. Then turn it back on again.

I have been searching every other day for over a month trying to find a fix in Windows Safari with no joy. I want to resolve, not switch browsers. Please offer up a solution that only refreshes the Top Site thumbnails once a day or as some controlable interval. Started about two versions ago, now on ver 5.1.5. Windows 7 64bit.

I think I solved the wifi connection problem, just by switching off completely the router! sounds trivial, but in this case it worked!!!

Our setup:
Exchange resource forest
BES 10 installation in SITE A
User with mailbox in SITE B added to BES 10
We use Certificate Based Authentication'.
Issue:
When user presents their authentication via ActiveSync to CAS in SITE A the request should be proxied to the CAS on the other site once the lookup for the user's home mailbox takes place. The activation on the BB10 device fails and requests the
user's password. I get an error in the IIS logs of SITE A. Nothing is recorded on the CAS in SITE B and wireshark logs show connections to the CAS array of SITE B but nothing is logged in the IIS logs:

To narrow down the cause, I’d like to confirm the following information:
1. Could other proxy requests be achieved successfully? You can try to use proxy to login OWA to have a test.
2. Could all your ActiveSync come across the same issue?
3. Check your ActiveSync configuration of your servers on both site A and site B:
Get-activesyncvirtualdirectory |fl *url
4. Is there any firewall in your environment?

How do I get icons for my yahoo email, Face Book, You Tube, and other sites that I use a lot?

In the past I had icons on my toolbar for my Yahoo email, You Tube, Face Book, and a lot of other sites that I use a lot, but I can't find where to get them to add to my firefox tool bar.
Also I have a lot of plug ins that I'm not sure I need, is there any way you can tell me what I need or don't need to keep?

I disabled acceleration in the flash player by linking to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting and scrolling to the line that specifically outlined my problem - split horizontal screen with green line - clicked on the flash link then right clicked the flash icon and ticked disable acceleration.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled more programs then I probably need to.
We will see how long it lasts* site explains it may not be permanent
