Using pacman to update just one repo

I frequently use ABS, and as I understand it after you make a new package in /var/abs/local, you have to run gensync to update your local repository, then sync pacman with it. I tell pacman to use wget for file transfers, and I have a lot of unofficial repositories in my pacman.conf, so every time I run pacman -Sy, it takes it a few minutes to sync with all the repositories, but often I only want to update my local one. Is there any way to do this with pacman right now?
edit: if you wonder why I don't just control+c out of it after it syncs local, it's because I use wget as my download agent, and after you kill one wget it goes and tries the next repository mirror, so you're holding it down for ~10 seconds before it cancels everything. And it looks messy

the nice thing about having each repo in a seperate include file like the default setup is...you can easily do the above.

If you have, say, 30 chapters in a FrameMaker book, you can
update the content in RoboHelp by each chapter. That is, you don't
need to update the whole book when you want to update the chapter.
Use "Update" for one document and "Update All" for all FrameMaker
documents/books in RoboHelp project. However, you cannot Update by
HTML topic in RoboHelp. For example, if a chapter in FrameMaker is
converted to 15 topics in RoboHelp, you need to update the whole
chapter.
There is another powerful feature in RoboHelp which helps you
preserve the topics in RoboHelp from any update. Right click on the
FrameMaker document (chapter in a book) and select properties. In
one of the tabs, you can select topics which you don't want to get
updated when you update the Chapter. This feature is powerful
however should be used with caution.

If I want use my card for just one purchase, will my card info be kept on file against my will?.

I have set up an account without credit card. I do not want my credit card attached to that account. I want to make a single purchase using my credit card but I do not want my card delails kept on file and to be used for any future purchases without my card details having to be re entered. It is looking very much like my card details will not only be used for this one purchase, but that my account will stop being a non credit card account and will have my card details assosiated with it from now on. How can I be assure me that my details will not be kept?
It is bad enough that we have to trust that banks are secure enough to keep our details, but we should not have to trust Apple Co as well. It was once ilegal for companies to hold on to card details after a purchase had been completed, why is it now OK?

If you enter card details, you can only remove them by changing the payment method or if a None option is available in your account.

Good iOS5 update, just one error -35

It is a success story.
It took about 1hr and 40 minutes from the download of iOS5 to the complete restore from backup.
Onle small glitch. At some point doing the restore from backup, the phone restarted and a error -35 appeared
in iTunes. After the phone restarted, however, the backup continued and all apps and settings were all restored.
BTW, my iPhone 3GS seems as responsive as before or better.

There's been a problem with this all day. Seems to be a server problem - wait a day and try again, or use itunes on the computer to update, that works.

Unless you really only have one AppleID that you use with the iTunes Store there's really nothing you can do. In the case of having only one AppleID you should contact iTunes Store support, since that would be a server-side problem.

Bad idea.
Content bought with an Apple ID is forever associated with that Apple ID. Apple will not transfer content from one Apple ID to another and Apple will not merge Apple IDs. Unless you are prepared to forfeit all the previously purchased content and buy it all again with the new Apple ID, you will need to maintain the old ID to update and redownload your content.

Youll get that message when you change the iTunes account you are logged into, you can't keep changing it.

it drives me nuts having to emove all the other websites when I want to upload one.

For iWeb, I like to do only one site per domain file. I move domain files out of the Application Support folder and place them inside project or client folders, or in DropBox. Once you duplicate a domain file and begin customizing it, it will load and behave as a separate project/site.
I publish each iWeb domain/project direct to a server via FTP. Sometime I publish to a folder, then upload via FTP manually.
iWeb is a remarkable tool, especially when you work from scratch with blank tamplates

You can find the backup files and then copy them to a safe place if you are worrying about this.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then press Return.
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, then choose Run. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then click OK.

Go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings. the connecto to iTunes and restore as a New phone. Do not restore any backup. If the problem persists you have a hardware problem. Take it to Apple for exchange.
This assumes that the phone is not hacked or jailbroken. If it is you will have to go elsewhere on the internet for help.
