Hi, good day to everybody ! Can any person let me know whether a PCMCIA card is compatible with the expansion slot of Lenovo 3000 G400 ? Thanks !

Using a Verizon pcmcia card with my iMac desktop

I purchased an iMac desktop computer last week.
Unfortunately, the only way to access the internet in the rural area where I live is via a Verizon wireless card.
Is there a way to use a pcmcia card with my iMac desktop? I know that there is a USB to pcmcia card adapter for PC's, but I have not seen one for the iMac.
Or can this card somehow be creatively hooked up to a wireless network device so I can use the built in airport device to connect to it?
Please help!!

Verizon has an adapter that will work - U720 I believe is the model. However, any similar adapter should work. Also, most cell phones can be used as modems with the proper cable. You can purchase cables for your cell phone model from your cell provider's local outlets.

i am trying to use wild card with variable but getting an error message, "You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression."
$src = 'C:\Temp'
$TabletzipPath = $src + "tab*.zip"
i would like to copy the tablet zip file which is placed in in $src to be copied in $TabletzipPath.
i am using tab* because this file name changes continuously. so if i give a fix name for example tablet1.zip than it works fine.

Not sure if the wildcard will work without seeing how you're using the variable.
That said, I can say that it looks like you're missing the backslash between the $src path and the wildcard filename. As-is the above code assigns a value to $TabletzipPath of "C:\temptab*.zip" instead of what you are likely expecting ("C:\temp\tab*.zip")

Problem with Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 Laptop

Hi all,
I'm new here and hope someone can tell me whats wrong with my Lenovo 3000 N200 0769. Two days ago I got up in the morning and turned on my laptop, it started and shut off about 3 seconds later. It does it every time I try to start. I was able to get the windows intro, and then could not sign in as the keyboard didn't work. When I unplugged the power cord it immediately shut off. Is it a Battery malfunction thats caused this or a Virus? PLEASE I need some help here!! I googled it and on some other sites some said it was the Battery. Thanks very much.

Also, with the battery out and AC unplugged, press and hold the power button several times. Then, re-attach AC and try to start it up. You could go into BIOS and reload BIOS defaults (that's an option) save and exit. Try to start up normally again.
If the system boots up only part way, hangs, or shuts off then I would tend to think the fan & heatsink could be clogged. See this article on cleaning.

The N200 is very similar to the N100 in this regard.
If the fan and heatsink are clean, I would check the battery - these systems don't like to run with just the AC. Try to see if it will start up from just battery with no AC, or start with battery in and AC, and then unplug AC. If it shuts off, then the battery is defective and should be replaced. Most of these, especially N100 seem to do much better with a good battery.

Using wild card with Captivate 5 ( fill in the blank)

I am training software package that requires many fill in the blanks besides the login screeen. If I were to recording the actions using Captivate 5 record, I think, I can only use a demonstration recording as oppsed to having my students interact with the product by filling in the blank. For example, my product asks for a login. When I login to demonstrate how it should be done, the product reponds correctly. By my student is limited to watching as opposed to interacting. While login is not such a big deal, there are several other areas where the same concept applies. Ideally, I wish to use wild cards in fill in the blank so that any name or information can be used to interact with Captivate and move the slide along. Is this possible, and if so, how?

I think Lilybiri may be misinterpreting your use of the term "wildcards" to mean using them in the programming sense.
Perhaps you are referring to the characters that appear in a typical Password field to hide what the user is actually typing?
If so, the text field object in Captivate has an option to use these password characters so that the user's typing characters are hidden. The characters used are asterisks, which are what some people refer to as wildcard characters.

I m using labview 8.6 version. I hve interfaced labview with cdaq 9172.
I have used 9201, 9203 ,9219 card.Now i want to use 9264 card i.e analog output card.I am not getting how to use it .wheather I hve 2 use on function plate express--> input-->daq assistant or something else.please help me. i want to control valve through 9264.i am sending some screen shot how i m trying 2 use.

Hi Ajju
You can use the DAQ Assistant express VI, but since the 9264 is an output module you will need to choose "Generate Signal" instead of "Acquire Signal" in the dialog. Then you will specify what you want to output, from which channels, how fast etc. in the same maner as you do when acquiring a signal.

Using Scope card with Motion card

In my application of Non-Destructive Testing of tubes using Ultrasound, I am using a motion card for controlling the motion of the Ultrasound probe (that runs with stepper motor)using the motion card. This probe moves all over the specimen under test. I am using Scope card to get the data from the probe and display and storing the waveform. Now I am moving the Probe step-by-step manner by specifying the step-increment and acquiring the data. Is it possible to acquire the data if i move the probe in the continuous manner by specifying the speed and end position alone? What are all the things i should take in to consideration to get and store the data efficiently?

From the standpoint of the Scope card there should be no issues with measuring the data continously. There are several LabVIEW shipping examples that you could take a look at.

Can I use 640g HD with my 3000 G430?

Sure - why not? As long as the width of the 2.5 inch drive will fit in your bay I see no reason why not. Sometimes these drives are a little wider as they get bigger. Just make sure it will fit the bay in your laptop. You can always check the specs of the drive manufacturer and see if it is the same width as your 250gb drive. If it is wider - you might want to check with Lenovo support just to make sure it will fit.

Wifi pcmcia card with antenna for PB g4...

Will any wireless card work in the pcmcia slot of my PB G4 or does it need to be Apple specific? I already have the built in Airport extreme but I want to get a pcmcia card that has an external antenna attachment. My neighborhood has free wifi spots that are a bit out of range.

HT1918 Couldn't use debit card with iTunes store

I opened a new bank account. When I tried updating my debit card in iTunes it didn't work. I got a message saying "Your credit card does not match your bank's records." The same thing happened to me a year ago when I opened a new account. After a few weeks it worked. This must be common. Has anyone else had this problem?

Debit cards are no longer accepted in the iTunes Store, it seems. The current valid payment methods are listed here:

You can try contacting the iTunes Store and asking if there is any way to use your card, but they probably will tell you that it's not possible.

Using a debit card in any online service where it stores your card is a bad idea in any case since if someone gains access to your account in the service, they can quickly drain your bank account. Credit cards limit your liability, as do prepaid iTunes cards.

My bluetooth on my Lenovo 3000 is turned on and I can see my mobile phone when I try and pair the device. I add in the passcode on my phone and on the screen when requested but the phone will not pair. Any advice as to what I am doing wrong and why it will not work..

How can I use PCMCIA card in Satellite A300-177?

I recently purchased a PCMCIA wireless card for my Satellite A300-177 laptop and when i went to fit it found out that they use the express card now.

I know this might seem a bit obivous but with companies nowadays you never know if the conections are the same even though they share the same name.

Is your notebook delivered without WLAN card or you want to use faster WLAN card?
The adapter compatibility can confirm the manufacturer itself. They must offer specification for own product.
Anyway, I think your notebook has WLAN on board and I don't see the reason to have this big additional part. Sorry but it looks awesome for me. I can understand you must to have it because the notebook is without WLAN but .... I don't know.
