Using photoshop elements 13, can't see photo in folder

I have a folder with 5 photos in it.  all 5 are linked to the folder.  3 are not displayed.
any suggestions please.  Darrell

Hi,
If you are in the organizer, are you in the new adaptive view or the old classic grid view - see View -> Details?
In the View menu select Hidden Files and check that Show All Files is checked.
The two hidden photos aren't in a version set or stack are they? You would need to switch to grid view and expand the stack by click on the small arrow to the right of the photo.

Using photoshop elements 6.0 - converting raw photos files to dng, how/where do I add metadata?

Metadata can be added in Properties panel. select a file and hit Alt+Enter. It will open up Properties panel. You may drag drop tags on the media and do File > Write tags info to files to write tags in file metadata.

  • Hello - I am new to using Photoshop Elements 11, Can you help me?

    Hello
I have got 2 questions for using Photoshop Elements 11 -
    1. How can i delete loads of duplicate images that i have imported?
    2. What is the difference between albums and folders - I have set them up and basically they are all just the same photos i have grouped together - seems pointless having them twice!
    Thanks!

  • IPhoto 9 - Photoshop Elements 9: Can't open photo in PE9 with right click

I upgraded from PE8 to PE9 and set PE9 as my new preference for "external editor" in iPhoto9. However, when I right click, as i did in the past when I was using PE8, I get the welcome screen for PE9 (The window "shakes" for some reason.),and if I then select "edit" rather than "organize," I do go directly to PE9, but my photo is not there. If I try to launch again from iPhoto, another instance of PE9 opens, again with the welcome screen. This time when I click edit, I either get PE9 again with no photo, or it crashes.

You set the wrong file as your external editor. Go back into the iphoto prefs and choose the file above the file you currently have. You want the one with the blue square icon, but not the version number in the name and not the alias arrow on the corner. More details here:
    http://barbarabrundage.com/2010/11/29/using-photoshop-elements-9-with-iphoto/
Basically you currently have the PSE welcome screen as your external editor.

  • How can I save a picture in Photoshop Elements that was emailed to me using Photoshop Elements?

How can I save a picture in Photoshop Elements that was emailed to me using Photoshop Elements?

Save the attachment in a folder.
    From the Organizer menu choose:
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
Navigate to your image and click Open.
If the photo is embedded, make a copy or screen grab and then whilst it’s still held in memory open the Elements Editor.
    From the menu click:
File >> New >> Image from clipboard
Then use File >> Save As
    Then choose jpeg.

  • Using Photoshop Elements if shooting in raw

I shoot in raw.  Can I use Photoshop Elements 11 for processing raw photos?  or do I need a plug-in?

PSE11 comes with the RAW plug-in and can be updated to Camera RAW v7.4 via Help> Updates. Check for your camera at http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html. Providing it is supported by ACR 7.4 or lower you'll be fine. Otherwise you'll need to use PSE12, or the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert the files to the DNG RAW format PSE11 can use, or the software that came with your camera.

  • How can I use photoshop elements with photos

Title says it all.  I would like to use Photoshop Elements to edit my photos--how do I open them in PSE?

Yes your edits will be there if you import the edited version. Yes it will go to the Cloud with the edits. What you read is that edits made in iPhoto and Aperture after the library has been migrated will not be available in Photos. But you could still export from iPhoto/Aperture to the Finder and then import to Photos, like with PSE.

  • When I external edit an aperture photo using Photoshop Elements 9 and then get out, the changes are not reflected in Aperture when I return - this used to work for me but doesn't seem to have for some time - help please?

Have used Aperture for some time - at some point this stopped working - not sure when
    workflow:
click photo and elect to use the external editor (Photoshop Elements 9)
Copy of the photo is created in Aperture with the "O" badge and I am rolled out to Photoshop
Have to change the type to 8-bit in Photoshop to start making changes
When done and I exit I am prompted to save the photo
On returning to Aperture however the "O" badged photo does not get updated/reflect my changes
    Other Things:
I can find a changed photo sitting in the Aperture Library using finder or Photoshop itself - so I know changes have been made a new file saved (TIFF).
I am wondering if I am missing some (new) preference such that the changes are not proerly being saved for re-display/storage in the Aperture Library
I am running Lion OSX at the moment but the behaviour was the same under Snow Lepoard versions.
Current version of Aperture is 3.1.3, Elements is 9.0
    Any help/suggestions greatfully received

Try using psd.  Some rerports indicate some confustion between the apps with TIFF.  See:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15921933#15921933
I cannot confirm, nor test, since I use PS CS5, and not Elements.

I then found one suggestion that the problem might involve permissions. The suggestion was to right click PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe in its installation folder (which on my computer is at at D:\Photo\Elements 11 Organizer) and run Organizer as an administrator. This also failed.
I don't understand why running the exe from the installation folder would have worked.
I would have simply tried to run that exe from its real location :
Sorry, I can't help you more about permissions...

    I use photoshop elements version 11. I just bought a nikon d750. Photoshop elements can't read/open the raw/NEF-file.
Does a raw converter exist for this camera and where can I find it ?
    Thanks for any help.

You need Adobe camera raw version 8.7. Unfortunately your software pre-dates the camera. ACR 8.7 is only compatible with PSE13. But it is possible to download and install the free DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • How can I remove an object using Photoshop Elements 7?

How can I remove an object using Photoshop Elements 7?

You could probably use the 8 point garbage matte in this situation. I personally think the 8-point garbage matte is a bit cumbersome, but it should get the job done.
    1. Use the Razor Blade tool to place a cut before and after the shot with the bottle.
    2. Select the bottle clip.
    3. Press and hold Shift + Option, then drag the bottle clip up one track. This should create a duplicate clip directly above your original clip. (I'll refer to this duplicated clip as bottle2.)
    4. Locate the 8-point Garbage Matte filter and apply it to bottle2.
    5. Locate the Gaussian Blur filter and apply it to bottle2.
    6. Control click bottle1, and uncheck the "Clip Enable" setting from the shortcut menu. This will disable that clip.
    7. Double click bottle2 to load it into the Viewer. Then select the Filter tab.
    8. For the Garbage Matte filter, you'll notice 8 rows of numbers, these are the current locations for the control points, which you should be able to see in the Canvas. Start with point #1, and click the "+" button in the filters area, then in the Canvas click and drag to move the point. When you release the mouse button, you'll need to reclick the "+" button in the filters tab. Repeat these steps until you've isolated the bottle.
    9. Feather the edge of the matte.
    10. Adjust the Blur amount.
    11. Reenable bottle1. Playback the clip and make any necessary adjustments.
Depending on your experience with Motion, you might also want to try sending bottle1 to Motion, then use Motion to control the layering.
