Using photoshop on more than one computer

I purchased Photoshop CS6 for my home Mac several months ago. I am about to buy my daughter a Mac. Will I be able to install photoshop on her computer, too? Can I use it on more than one computer in the same household?

You can "install" it on two computers, but the End User License Agreement stipulates that you cannot run it on both at the same time.

Yes, you are allowed to have to installations at any time from the same license, provided each installation is for your own personal use and the two installations are not used simultaneously

I am new to ipod. I set it up on my laptop, and have all uploaded my cds to my ipod from there. I do nat have internet at home, so tried using my parents computer. How do you use the ipod with another computer that doesn't have all your songs on it? When I go to sync it, it ask if i want to delete all my ipod songa and replace with the ones on the other computer. I am trying to get album artwork. What am I not doing right?

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library. Even when manually managing an iPhone, you can only add content from one iTunes library.

Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it.

I have just purchased a new ipod after my old one broke down and when I hooked it up to my computer i got a message saying that this is the 5th computer my ipod is registered to... Being a new ipod i would think I should start again with this process... I have only hooked the new one up to one computer... can anyone help on this

If you purchased from the Mac App Store, there is no serial number, so no, I'm afraid you can't. Anything in the Mac App Store is subject to Apple's terms rather than Adobe's. I have itunes on an old ( and therefore very slow!) laptop. Hoping to get a new laptop soon, but can I just install itunes on this new one and use it with my ipod?
My ipod is set to update manually so I think it should be ok. Just don't want to do it before asking just in case I lose my music!

You're welcome. One word of caution though if you are using an iPod that holds more than your computer and you want to fill it to capacity. If you delete songs from your PC and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up songs you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD. USING POD ON MORE THAN ONE COMPUTER

I really need some help. I'm trying to use my pod on my home computer and everytime I connect it I get a message that says "The Pod is linked to another Itunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this Itunes music library and replace all existing songs on this Ipod with those from this libary?" The answer is No! I want to keep the stuff I downloaded from work and intergrate it with the music I have at home. My pod won't appear on the screen so I can change it to manually operate. I have already erased itunes and reloaded it - no luck. I'm at my wits end having spent 3 hours trying to figure out what to do? Can someone help me? I've been all over apples site trying to figure out what's wrong. Thanks!

Hi Leah,
Nothing is wrong with your shuffle. What you are describing is the intended, normal behabiour of the shuffle. All other iPod models have an option called "manual mode" where you can use it with multiple computers and transfer music from multiple libraries to the iPod. The shuffle does not and there's no way around this. You can only have one computer's songs on it at a time. Basically it is the least expensive iPod and therefore has the most limited feature set. I agree that Apple's site and documentation should be much more clear about this difference between the shuffle and the other iPods.
If you want both your home and work songs on your shuffle at the same time, you'll have to first transfer the songs from your work to your home (or vice versa) using the "disk mode" of the shuffle (coping using Windows explorer), and bringing them into iTunes on the other computer (using File->Add to Library). Once the songs are all in one library then you can transfer them to the shuffle.

I just purchased a new Mac and downloaded CS6, which I purchased in July of 2013 and installed on my old PC. After the install when I tried to enter my serial #, it told me it was invalid. Is this because I can only install it on one computer or am I doing something else wrong? I was under the unstinting that once I purchased it I could install it on all of future computers/devices.

If you see a red x, you may have gotten a number in the serial number incorrect or you could be using a number meant for Windows or a different language.
If as I suspect, you bought a Windows version, then the serial number will not work on a Mac.

Depends on what you mean by crippled. I have an iPs and it doens't seem to be crippled to me, but some people consider the lack of a screen to be crippling.

Mine misbehaves all the time. I have to continually put it in time-out and even that only lasts for a few hours. Then it misbehaves again.

Note that when it says "publicly accessible location", it needs to be a place where everyone has read and write access. The most common such place is the Shared folder in the Users folder.

ITunes plus songs - Can I use it in more than one computer?

I"m planning to buy songs from iTunes. Now that the songs are iTunes plus, is it possible to copy the song file to a different PC and upload it to iTunes?
I've been used to buying songs from Amazon as it is MP3 format and wondering if iTunes plus offers the same flexibility as MP3 format when it comes to using it in multiple devices/machines.
Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

Yes you can copy the iTunes Plus songs to other machines.
I wouldn't quite say it has the "same flexibility," however. The Amazon songs, being MP3s, can be played in virtually any player, program, or phone, while the iTunes songs, being in AAC format, are more likely to run into incompatibilities. But if you are talking about other machines running iTunes, then it will not be a problem.
