Using plug ins with Photoshop CC 2014

I have downloaded and installed Photoshop CC 2014 but none of my third party plug ins were automatically loaded.
I copied and pasted the relevant plug ins from previous version Plug in folder and some of them have appeared in my filters in CC 2014 but they do not work
In earlier versions all my filters opened in a separate layer but now they do not work at all even though the Nik filters do open but the effect does not apply.
My perfect Suite and capture One plug ins do not work at all either

My apologies. Your post jogged my little grey cells to the point that I did a few experiments. In essence, you are right. My plug-ins do not work with 8-bit greyscale images. I like to deliberately shoot B&W and have a Wratten #12 minus-blue filter on the lens--as I used to do with film cameras.
The raw files ( Fujifilm's .RAF) were converted in Adobe CR by checking off "Convert to Grayscale" under the fourth tab. In the future, I will do the B&W conversion in Photoshop with either Nik or Topaz plug-ins.

Using Plug-ins in photoshop CC crashes PS

I can't use my plug-ins in Photoshop CC (Digital film for photoshop V.3 and Nik effects filters ). Everytime, I open one of them, Photoshop crashes...
I already tried to update the graphic driver but there is no update available.
What can I do? I am stuck not being able to do my work on Photoshop CC

Can I use CanoScan 4400F with Photoshop CS 2014 Mac OS X

Hi,
I'm stil using Photoshop CS3, but I would like to update to Photoshop CS 2014. I installed the trial version, but I don´t find a way how I could use my scanner (Canon CanoScan 4400F). Works fine with CS3.
Any ideas?

Nik: Installation - Nik Collection Help
Whatever brand of plugin you have, check the maker's website for the proper up to date CC 2014 versions, and look under Support for install and use instructions.
Those instructions differ by maker, and we can't tell you off hand how to do this if they are not Adobe products.

Possible to make plug-ins for Photoshop using Dreamweaver?

With the new cc 2014, I have been doing a little bit of research into how to structure a plugin for my workflow when I animate. I've been reviewing the cc 2014 sdk guide and I have been wondering if it is possible to use Dreamweaver cc 2014 a Photoshop cc 2014 extension for Photoshop since it's full support of html 5. In the guide it explains that almost anything you can do when making chromium extensions, you can do with Photoshop cc 2014 (or any other).
Has anyone tried this?

Photoshop is a totally separate graphics app for creating images, not code.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see how you could use DW to build a PS plugin.

Using Text Tool Freezes Photoshop CC 2014.2 x64 release

I have just updated Photoshop CC to 2014.2.0 -- 20140926.r.236 x64 release. Now I am experiencing an issue when I use the text tool to just type a few words on a new document or layer. The application seems to freeze up as soon as I start typing? I wait several minutes with nothing happening and have to resort to using the Windows task manger to kill the photoshop processes. This did not happen before I updated to this release?? Please advise how to fix this if possible to [email protected].

Build Plug-Ins with CS4 SDK under OS X 10.5 SDK with Xcode 3.1.2?

I have existing Photoshop Universal Binary Plug-ins built under OS X 10.4 and the OS X 10.4 SDK, with Xcode 2.1.x & Photoshop CS3 SDK. They are mature and stable.
I am attempting to build these Plug-Ins with the new CS4 SDK under OS X 10.5.6 & 10.5 SDK with Xcode 3.1.2.
They do not build as there is a conflict in PITypes.h with the attempted redefinition of uint32, already defined in the Apple header cssmconfig.h, amongst other problems.
Has anyone built with a similar configuration?

I've had good luck with Snow Leopard 10.6.1, XCode 3.2 and the Photoshop CS4 SDK by changing the build settings like this:
1. Open the Target Info window: Project->Edit Active Target
2. Change Architectures from native to 32-bit Universal (because my native is 64 bit)
3. Make sure Base SDK is 10.4 (you must have that installed of course). If you select 10.5 for some of the Photoshop examples, you get complaints of depreciated APIs.
4. Change C/C++ compiler version to GCC 4.0
In the case of using these steps, there is no need to edit any headers, comment anything out, etc.

Nik PLug-ins with Aperture

Greetings, This is for anyone using Nik Software plug-ins with Aperture. Is there a way to back out of adjustments once you've saved your work in the Nik editor? When using with Photoshop, the Nik adjustment will create a "layer". Deselecting the layer will allow you to essentially remove the adjustment. I don't see any way of doing that in Aperture. Am I missing it, or are you basically down the road with the adjustment once you make it?

Once you save in NIK, the adjustments are "baked in." There's no way to go back and remove them. What NIK does is save the TIFF file that Aperture creates and hands over to it, with the NIK adjustments. This won't affect the original RAW file.
You could always go back and send that same TIFF file to NIK an indefinite number of times. It wouldn't really be "non-destructive" but you can re-do or tweak any adjustments you want to tweak.

Can I use plug-ins in iPhoto? THe plug-ins are Neat Image and Noise Ninja.

Yes, there is a plug-in architecture for iPhoto, but as to whether these two will work with whatever version of iPhoto you have, you'll need to ask whoever makes them.

Installing Optional Plug-ins for Photoshop CS5

I have downloaded the Optional Plug-ins for Photoshop CS5 but when I double click on the zxp file I get a message:
"There is no application set to open the document “CS5 Optional Automate Plug-ins.zxp”.
I have tried selecting "choose application" in the same message window and navigating to Applications>Utilities>Adobe Installers but the only option there is greyed out.
I am using Mac OS 10.6.8.
Any suggestions appreciated!

I have a few Plug-ins for Photoshop CS, can I develop plug-ins for Photoshop Touch for Tablets?

I would love for there to be a way of using my favorite plug-ins within PS Touch but I imagine that's a little more complicated than using the standard 8BF plug-in standby.

Regular JPEG is capable of high definition (size) images.
The "HD" in "HD Photo" is a reference to the fact that the bit depth can
greatly exceed the 8-bit limitation of regular JPEG. That's primarily
of value in high-quality photo editing, and for archiving originals.

DVD player upconversion is no better than the upconversion built-in to
any decent HD TV; i.e., it's mostly just marketing hype.
