Using premier pro on 4k display

hi I'm thinking of buying adobe and using adobe premier pro on a 4k display but have been reading people complaining that even after scaling in windows it has no effect on premier pro and the text is tiny?

This will work in the upcoming release of Premiere Pro. We've added HIDPI support on windows systems.

How can i copy files from one external hard drive to another using macbook pro with retina display?

That's odd - if you open Disk Utility (Applications->Utilities) and select the disk(s), how are they formatted? If you're only going to be used with your Mac, they should be formatted as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".

What does the detailed crash report say?
And have you updated your video card drivers from the GPU maker's website? (most crashes on launch are due to bugs in out of date video card drivers)

My video has no sound but i want to add the audio using premier pro.
when I want to import the file,it said:your video file has no audio.
But i want to add the sound to my video!!
Does anyone know how to solve this problem??

So you have a  video (.mov)  that some how you got from  Flash.
It has no sound on it.
Does the .mov import into Premiere?
If it does..you edit it in the timeline (sequence) and add audio to  the audio track(s) before exporting it.

  • Help!!  using premier pro 3.0 and HDR-HC3

I am a novice at using premier pro. I have a very nice website and made the mistake of taking some footage in HDV format using the sony HDR-HC5 handycam. In the future I will take the footage in a lower format. The problem is I need to put at least 30 seconds worth of the footage i took in hdv format onto my website. When I play the footage and/or record the footage I have on adobe premier pro it is in slow motion and very choppy. Can anyone tell me how to make this HDV footage play in regular time? I would really apprecaite your help.

  • Best quality HDV to DVD using Premier Pro CC to Media Encoder CC and Encore

I have been struggeling to create a decent looking DVD from my HD video.  I am a newbe.  And I have read many, many forum posts trying to learn the best practice and have come out even more confused.  Many posts are back in 2009 and I don't think they apply.  Some recommend dynamic link which does not appear to be an option for me.  So I am hoping to get a clear answer to my problems.  I am including alot of info because I don't know what is really important.
I have 2 types of video that I am merging into my sequences.
    Sony:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 11.5 Mbps
Maximum bit rate                         : 16.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 440 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
Scan order                               : Top Field First
    JVC:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 16.3 Mbps
Maximum bit rate                         : 17.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 920 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
Scan order                               : Top Field First
I set my sequence in Premier Pro CC to
    AVC-Intra 50 1080i
    29.97 fps
    1440 x 1080
    HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.3333)
    30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
Hopefully I set up my sequence correctly???
Dynamic Link is not available to me, so I export the sequence.  This is where i get confused.
I export to MPEG2-DVD.  Preset NTSC DV Wide
Some forum posts say to tweek the video setting for better quality, this is what I have read:
    quality to 100
    minimum bit rate  4
    target bitrate 6
    maximum bitrate 7
    click maximum render quality
Since my source has upper field order but PP defaults to lower field order, should I switch to upper?
    I encode in Media Encoder.
In Encore, I have my dvd settings:
    MPEG-2
    720x480
    29.97 fps
Lower fields first  (should this be upper??)
I have an i5 processor, 8G ram, I am using Mecury GPU accelerator.
I listed a lot of stuff and I appologize.  I just think the quallity I am getting isn't there.  With these setting and what I am doing, is this as good as the quality gets?
    Help

    Use a 1920 x 1080, 30i sequence for the editing, not 1440 x 1080.
Start with the MPEG2-DVD option and the NTSC DV Widescreen preset.  Change the Quality to 100.  Change the Field Order from Lower to Upper.  Change the Min, Target and Max bitrates to 5, 7 and 9 respectively.  If you have hardware acceleration turned on, export away.  If you're running in Software Only mode, check the Maximum Render Quality box and then export.
Bring the resulting video and audio files into Encore for authoring.

  • How do I set up a film-making classroom using premier pro?

I'm revamping my classroom. I've been using final cut, but that platform doesn't provide the model I need for preparing students anymore with their new versions final cut X. I teach students the Hollywood style of film-making and need a platform that mimics the professional standard. I'm using macs and want to teach with premier pro since it has the right interface for the job. How do I get a version I can use when it appears that adobe is going all out cloud? Will cloud suffice for my macs in a classroom environment? I'm wanting about three to five computers to have the software for students to access.

  • Use Macbook Pro as keyboard/display combo for desktop CPU?

What I want is the power and upgradability of a desktop, but I want to be able to work from my recliner, as I am accustomed to doing with my Macbook Pro. I would love to be able to hook up my Macbook Pro to a desktop (ideally via wireless, but a cord would not be a deal-breaker) and use it like a keyboard/display combo. I've searched and searched but never have found anything I'd consider "definitive" on this, though there does seem to be quite a bit of general interest in lazing about on on comfortable furniture to work. Do any of you know if this is possible? If so, how?
PS: PLEASE no lectures on how working from a recliner leads to back problems
    Thanks!

No. Target DIsplay Mode is only available on the 27-inch iMacs, and for those with a Thunderbolt port, the video output must come from a Thunderbolt source.

  • Premier Pro CS6 not displaying Video

Premier Pro CS6 is not displaying video.  Loads and plays clips with sound and all monitors work but no video displayed, installs them in timeline, exports - just does not display video in program or preview monitors nor will it scrub in the thumbnails (static images only). Just started all of a sudden for no apparent reason.  All valid file types, even previous projects that worked fine before display no video now.

If you are on Windows it HAS been known to happen that a Windows Update will cause a video driver to have problems (more information when you ask a question is a good thing http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840 so people will be able to help)
It is "more usual" to need a video driver update, so good to know that a simple un/reinstall worked for you

  • Want to use Premier Pro and After Effects but don't want to buy CC

I have CS6 Design/Web Premium standalone edition and want to add Adobe CS6 Premier Pro and CS6 After Effects Standalone to the group.
I've downloaded the trial versions of Premier pro and After Effects to get me past this recent job issue, but I may need to purchase it after the trial runs out.
If the job I've got pending does not pan out I'll go back to using Final Cut X and Motion.
But if it does pan put I'll want to buy the standalone versions as I'm not into Hacking and Kracks.
I do not like the idea or want to "upgrade" to CC so please no suggestions about this.
Any clues. For some reason I'm not able to ask Adobe directly as they do not appear to supply and email address to be contacted, and I'm now on this forum sharing my questions to the community.
Anyone out there with an idea to help in this regard?

  • Newbie needs help - First time using Premier Pro 5.5.2

I have Premier Pro CS 5.5.2 install on iMac 2011 with Lion 10.7.3. I imported an AVCHD clip from a SDHC card using a usb card reader. The clips were really choppy and pixelated. The clip was shorted in 1920 x 1080 HA. I have been reading from the Adobe site and their Videos. I should have no problem importing AVCHD into Premier Pro.  Do I need 3rd party conversion software to convert the clip to Quicktime or what specific settings should I be using? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

With so many features that cannot be disabled, Premiere Pro requires significantly more horsepower than that iMac can deliver. FCP X also requires a decent amount of system horsepower as well. iMovie doesn't require much due to its relative lack of features.
And as I stated a few times, the iMacs are designed for convenience/looks first, low power consumption second, performance third. In fact, although they use desktop CPUs, the 2011 lineup uses mostly reduced-power versions of the i5 and i7 CPUs (in this case, the "S" variant of these CPUs with their lower 65W TDP instead of the normal 95W TDP). And their minuscule interior space meant laptop-class GPUs instead of desktop-class GPUs. In the end, you'd end up with a very large system that performs no faster than a decent laptop (in fact, the laptop HD 6770M is slower than the desktop HD 6770 (which is in reality a tweaked HD 5770) in games). Worse, unless you can find a Thunderbolt external hard drive for that iMac, you're effectively stuck with a single physical hard drive for absolutely everything, especially since both Firewire 800 and USB 2.0 (the other ports available on the iMac) are much, much slower than SATA.

  • How would I add a arrow and a comment on a video clip using premier pro

I am trying to edit a video clip and need to add an arrow and a comment onto it for a few seconds...  How can i do that...

Hmmm, you would probably get a better response asking in the Premiere Pro forum. But before I move the thread, are you ONLY using Premiere Pro? Or are you really using Adobe Captivate but you are importing a video from Premiere Pro?
    Cheers... Rick
