Using Premiere Pro CS3 When exporting as flash file poor picture quality

I'm using Premiere Pro CS3. I shoot green screen in HDV and work in 1440 x 1080. I have been capturing files in Premiere and sending them to Serious Magic Ulta 2. I use this program for keying and adding virtual backgrounds. I save these files as avi. with a resolution of 1440 X 1080. I then bring them back into Premiere Pro for final edit. When I export these video's encoded as mpeg2 theyplay very clear. I am now trying to export as flv. with alpha channel background and the resolution is poor. I working on the transparent background with walk on spokespersons that overlay the HTML page. When In try to play them on my computer the adobe media player is what comes up. I have downloaded flash player but it doesn't select it to play the video. I'm running windows Vista Business platform. What am I doing wrong.

Thanks for the reply.
The capture and editing have already been done in 1440 X 1080. Should I use this resolution rather than trying to bump it up to 1920 X 1080.
Thanks

Computer playback generally prefers square pixels.  Make sure to set your output resolution to 1920 x 1080 using a Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) of 1.0 or Square.
See if that helps.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 is exporting in the wrong size

I want to export my clip I've made in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 while choosing the option "HDV 720p24" (I've also tried 25, 30 and a few others).
It says in Video Settings before I even start to work on my clip:
    "Frame Size: 1280h 720v"
Which is EXACTLY what I want.
However, whenever I choose to export my clip, it ends up being 720 x 480. That's not even 16:9/Widescreen.
I've tried entering the settings when choosing the export options, but the preset 720 x 480 can't be change.
Why is this? Is it impossible to expert a clip to be in 1280 x 720 or any other custom pixelsize I want?
    Best regards, Izzy.

    Hi everyone,
I apologize for digging up an old thread, but I figured that I'm experiencing this exact problem and have no idea how to work around it I might as well post in an already started topic.
I'm trying to export 1280 x 720 video to that same resolution, but Premiere Pro will not let me choose anything other than 720 x 480 for the size when I try to export through File > Export > Media. I have attempted to use multiple media formats but have had no results for what I need. If it really help, I've posted a couple of screenshots showing my current project settings, but this is just one of a few different formatting attempts which have all turned out the same:

    http://www.derektoigo.com/assets/screenshots/premiereexport2.png
Hopefully those will be enough to give you a detailed view of exactly what the problem is.
Any help with how to work around this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

  • MPEG4 in, MPEG4 out: why getting bad quality using Premiere Pro CS3?

I have to edit a great number of MPEG4 footage (H.264, 720p, 29.97 fps), created with a Samsung NV24HD camera. They have a good quality regarding sharpness, contrast, color. I want the final movies as MPEG4 files, in the same format as the sources.
When I export an edited movie using the Adobe Media Encoder of Premiere Pro CS3, the quality is disappointing. A lot of details are lost and the contrast is less than the original footages. Further, I see that the size of the movies are reduced with about 30%.
I use the H.264 preset ‘HDTV 720p 23.976 High Quality’, but with the frame rate changed to 29.97 fps. Other settings are default.
    My questions are:
    1) What's wrong here?
    2) Is the method using the Adobe Media Encoder of Premiere Pro CS3 the right one to do this job?
    3) Do I use the correct settings?
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Impossible to use Premiere pro CS3...?

Hello, I am new to this forum and also a new owner of Premiere Pro (CS3-windows Vista 32bits)
My problem? After importing my HDV films with PPro, video and audio have huge gaps up to 15 sec in any of the windows of PPro!!! The imported sequence are OK in any video "reader" as VLC... but not in PPro.
Could it be a bug of PPro with timelines "breaks"? Opened in Windows Movie Maker, audio and video match perfectly for these same sequences (sorry for the english, I am french)
I am a bit horrified as I bought Premiere, confident on the quality of Adobe softwares and in the impossibility of testing with the testing version as HDV is deactivated in it!!!!!
Please, could you make me more confident, I am so afraid!
    Thank you.
NOTE: I had my hard drive formated just before installing Premiere pro... !!

Some news: the problem of synchro may be of more than 3 minutes!!
Even on another computer with windows XP, the problem is the same: PPro unable to work correctly and files correct in any other software...
Please, does anyone can help me? Thank you.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Will Not Import Any Files

I connected my Motorola DVR to my PC (Windows XP SP2)  with HD content passing through a Firewire 1394 connection.  I opened a new Premiere Pro CS3 (Master Collection) file and accidentally selected capture.  The computer immediately went to blue screen.  After rebooting I cannot import any files into new or old Premiere Pro projects.  It appears I compromised the software when I accidentally hit the capture button.  Encore works fine so I am assuming the problem is only with Premiere Pro.  Is there any way of reinstalling only Premiere Pro from the CS3 Master Collection disc set without having to reinstall the entire suite of programs?

You may be better off installing the whole suite again.

  • Clipnotes error using Premiere Pro CS3

I would like to know if anyone has a solution to this problem:
When trying to use Clip notes I get an error: Export Error - Writer not found.
I am using Windows Vista and Windows media not Quick Time.
This is to create the clip notes in PDF.
Your help will be much appreciated.

Sorry. It was worth a shot. As a matter of interest, can you successfully export clip notes using any codec?
    Cheers

  • Premiere Pro CS3 - Need Exporting HELP...!

I have read through the help and some threads but I would like to ask if someone can break it down into very plain english for me regarding exporting movies / videos for use on the web...
What i am trying to to is create a simple slideshow that i can put on my website.  I do not want any type of borders or control panel to be visible.  I just want it to run like a banner ad so i think an animated gif would be the best choice (any tips on that would be apprecieated too).
I have a collection of images in a folder i want to add and they taken with a 16:9 ratio and a size of 3648 pix x 2056 pix.
I have tried all combinations of settings and such but it always comes out fuzzy or doesn't fit well and if i get it looking pretty clear I still always have solid black edges on the left/right...
    - Is there a size i need to be re-sizing the pics down to before i input them into Premiere Pro...???
    - How can i set things up so the pics will fit right and will also be clear...?
    - I want the final slideshow to be around 525 pix wide so is that what i set the output frame width to???
    - With an output frame width of around 525 pix what should the height be...???
    - Anything else i need to know...???
BTW i am creating a DV - NTSC Widescreen 48kHz project at the start....
I would be so grateful if someone could break it down for me because it is driving me nuts.,...
    Thanks again...

well.. I think you might go to the dreamweaver forum about website building and inquire there about showing still images at timed intervals on your webpage. you dont need flash or any sort of video file to do that. This forum generally helps with video editing and not really website stuff.
you might need to use some javascript to do what you want with the images...
basically you want to use whatever code that works on the most browsers ( theres ways to detect the browser used and deliver what is then needed ). for mobile devices ( smartphones etc ) you'd probably be best off not using any flash and I see no need for video at all..  can just use images.
the dreamweaver forums will have lots of info about that for you and sample code etc.
if you go to this site and look at the source code is gives some idea re: code to cycle thru those images you see.
    http://myloupe.com/
your images would be more like at top of page ( banner ) and probably smaller in size..
you can tell from source code that dreamweaver was used to build the site and delivers the images from the server via js code and css styles and so on.. the forum will help you get source code you need.
    good luck
ps.. keep your images small in byte count.. 72 dpi and probably png format.. so they load fast ...can use photoshop to crop and size etc so that all images are exactly the same size and fit into the cell exactly ...so your page content doesnt shift around ( you'll use a table / cell structure to lock your page elements in place...)  have fun !

I'm running Premiere Pro 6 on a Windows machine. I find if I export a sequence of over 30 mins length to H264, HD 1080i 25, it regularly crashes - I have the box marked 'Maximum Render Quality' ticked. Would appreciate any advice on how to prevent this!

  • Premiere Pro CS3 crash with many video files

    Hi
I got back from my Ski vacation with many short (few minutes) videos which I took on Canon P&S camera, about 50 files.
I imported the 50 files to Premiere and tried to work on a movie, but everything works slow and every few commads the premiere crashes.
I notice that for each new file I add to the project 20K of rams are used - 1G for 50 files. I also get message of low resources from premere which recommend to save my works.
The video are standard video (not HD) 30fps, and the project is also standard.
    Why is this happening?
Does the premiere have a limitation for number for files to be imported?
Does it have problem with the video format?
How can I overcome this and get a stable editing environment?
    Thanks

Sorry for the CAPS Lock, I was writing from my mobile, and for some reason it was locked
so you do not recommend any of those codec package. How are you dealing with all video and audio formats, and subtitles? ffdshow does all for me.
dont' worry I dont have Klite installed
so you belive that if one of two codecs you recommened installed well and working it will solve my problem and work much better then FFDSHOW
I also have the option for converting the file to another format. under what name will I found a sutible format in the conversion software?

  • Premiere pro freezes when exporting a project that has AE compositions in it?

PC - 970 nvidia, i7 4790k, premiere will export when the After effects clips are removed, but freezes at different stages of completion when the are left in.

FAQ: What information should I provide?
When you say it "freezes", how long is it frozen for?
What is in these compositions you've linked to?
What version of AE (down to the last decimal)? Same question for Premiere.
What are your entire system specs? RAM, OS version, etc.

  • Premiere Pro freezing when exporting begins

I am currently trying to figure out why my video exporting fails to begin. I am using windows 8.1 64 bit and trying to export out a .mov file. Whenever I go to export, the export fails to start and just sits at 0% the entire time, even went out for 3-4 hours and let it just sit there incase it was just taking a while and nothing. Can anyone help?

  • Why does Premiere Pro CS3 no longer import .psd files?

Over in the German forum, BjoernG has already asked this question as of this past June.  He's gotten no answer, so let's try it here.  Like Bjoern I use PPro CS3.  Mine is on WinXP with all updates.  I import PSD files as keying masks.  I've never had a problem until this evening (27 Aug 2014).  I tried to import a mask I've used many times before.  And it has always worked before.  Tonight PPro refused to recognize .psd as a supported file type, so it didn't show in the import folder file list.  When I told PPro to show "all files *.*", it showed the file.  When I selected it, PPro even showed the "import file" window, then displayed the "File Import Failure" window with Error Message:  File format not supported.  See the picture.
This is a file I've imported into many previous projects with no problem whatever.  In fact, I started with a project file from last year which showed the mask file in the project assets but offline!  Even though the file had not been moved.
If PPro CS3 is as obsolete as Adobe claims it is, then who's been messing with it?  And how can we get it "unmessed"?

I couldn't imagine what any of those steps would do for my problem – but I didn't have a better idea so I tried them:
    > If Premiere is acting weird, restart computer.
It's a laptop, so it was off all night.  I turned it on this morning.
    > Hold down shift+alt while opening Premiere.
If I hold down shift-alt before clicking the desktop icon, all it does is select all icons from top left to the Premiere icon.  It does not start Premiere.
If I press and hold shift-alt immediately after clicking the icon, Premiere displays every tiny module it loads rather than summarizing.  I held shift-alt until Premiere was fully up and idle.
    > Then empty all media cache.
I did that.  As I write, Premiere is busy reconstituting all of that.
Then finally, the acid test:  Try to import a .psd file.  Bzz-z-zt!  Still claims it's an unknown file type.
    > jpegs do not have transparency. You can save as png instead.
I'm using it as a track matte key, so white is equivalent to transparent.  I do have to select "matte luma" instead of "matte alpha" in the effect.  I'll save your advice in case I ever do need transparency.
Follow-up:  I checked my other licensed copy.  It accepts .psds just fine.  I checked Help About for both; they're identical:  3.2.0 (374).  So the problem must be in an internal setting, an external influence, or a defective module.  And remember, it's not just me, Björn in Germany reported the identical problem in June.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 crashing on export

I have been using Premiere Pro CS3 for a while and I assure you I have NEVER touched any export settings, but now it is suddenly crashing on export.
There is no error message or anything, the program just turns off.
A friend suggested I change the settings to uncompressed.
The program was set to "Microsoft AVI" by default, so I changed it to "Uncompressed Microsoft AVI".  Now it exports without crashing, but if I play the video in Quicktime, there is no video or sound, and if I play it in media player, there is sound, but no video.
