Using Printer from main PC Upstairs,to labtop down...

Hope someone can help with the following problem.I have a Dell PC Upstairs and a Dell Laptop which I use downstairs.I have a Canon MP210 Printer upstairs,which works fine with the PC but not on the Laptop.(It use to)I have tried everything,PC Health check,Checked my homegroup to make sure the tick is in the share printer.Unistalled and reinstalled the printer .It's starting to do my head in now so I hope someone can come up with some Ideas.

if you go to network on the laptop can you see the pc? if so can you access the pc and then see the printer that is connected to the pc? if so try accessing the printer and yor laptop should then install the driver for the printer then allow access. you may have tried this already but it worked for me

Use printer from windows 7

I have a PC using Windows 7 plugged into my AirPort Time Capsule (2TB). My Canon (model MF4370dn) is plugged into the USB port on the AirPort Time Capsule. I have downloaded Bonjour from Apple.
I can't print from my PC. This was my printer before I purchased the AirPort unit, and it will print if I plug it directly into my PC. It is set as the default printer.
I also can't print from my new MacBook Pro laptop. The MacBook is communicating with the AirPort wirelessly, and I set the Canon as the default printer on the MacBook. A popup box told me that the driver for the Canon printer was unavailable from Apple, so I went to the Canon website to download a driver and it said that a driver was unavailable for MacBook.

Do not use USB.
This is a network printer.. plug it in via the network.
I looked it up and there are drivers available here.

Look at drivers on the latest Mavericks.. but they are universal.

When I have been trying to print from my laptop the items have been put in to queue. When I open the items it says my printer is offline. I try to get it online but it won't work. need help.

Can't create a PDF using "print" from Office 2010 w/ Acrobat 9.5.1 installed

I've been working on a lengthy Word document for the past three days, upgrading most of the inserted images and straightening out the formatting. Converting the entire 180-odd page document every time I made a few updates is a bit time-consuming. I also noticed that when I converted the entire document as a whole, the quality of some (not all) of the images in the document was significantly degraded. So I'd been using the Adobe Acrobat printer selection in Word to create single page pdf files, and then used the documents tab in Acrobat to insert the new page and delete the undesirable page.
This was working fine for two days. Then I was attempting to print a page, and didn't notice the "Creating a PDF Document" window, nor did I see the requested filename in the target folder. I attempted to print the page a second time, but nothing happened. After closing several open pages, I found the "Creating a PDF Document" pop-up. But the progress bar was stuck at about 20% and never moved. Eventually I closed the pop-up and attempted to print again. The pop-up reappeared but stuck at 20%. Rebooted and got the same. I rebooted again and went into Program and Features and ran repair on both Office 2010 and Acrobat. No change.
I'm operating Win 7 (64 bit) w/ SP1 on an AMD E-350 1.60Ghz processor w/ 8GB of ram. I'm using Office Professional Plus 2010 build 14.0.6112.5000 (32 bit). I've included the System Report below. The only trick I have left is to uninstall and reinstall, but hoping for a more specific solution. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as the images are concerned, that may be a result of your choice of job settings. You may want to use the Press or Print option if the image quality is important. I assume you are talking about bit images in this case.
As to the hangup, have you checked to see if AcroTray is active on your system? It may not be running as needed. In the meantime, try checking print to file and then opening that file in Distiller to complete the conversion to PDF.
Before you ever try a reinstall, you need to do a repair first to see if that resolves the problem. There are a lot of unknowns about your exact process for the printing and your job settings that may be part of the problem. The rest of your system setup is useful in some cases, but did not help me see your problem.

Wireless printing from main Mac not working

I've read through a few threads about wireless printing issues via the TC but I have a twist. My second Mac (Macbook 10.4.11) is able to print wirelessly through TC without a problem. I've selected the appropriate printer via System Preferences>>printers and selected "Share this printer".
My main Mac (MacBook Pro 10.5.3) which is being backed up on the TC, is not able to print wirelessly. I've also correctly selected the printer and clicked on "share this printer". The printer is an HP2410xi connected to the TC via USB.
The print jobs appear in the print queue and the printer status is "ready". When I select the stalled print job and select Resume I get the message "Opening printer connection" but nothing happens.
Thoughts?

If the printer worked on 10.5 when it was plugged directly into the macbook shouldn't the same driver also work when the printer is plugged into the time machine. I've unclicked printer sharing on both macs and it still doesn't work. I see that HP does not have an updated driver for 10.5 so I guess that I'll just plug the printer back into the macbook's USB. Grrrr.

I'm using logic express 9.1.6. today I bought Mainstage 2 in the appstore. there are a lot of powerfull plugins. some of them, like e.g. space designer, are not included in logic express.

7515 keeps trying to print from photo tray when main tray selected (Mac)?

Just started uing a iMac with the 7515. It's driving me nuts that it keeps trying to print from the photo tray when I have main tray clearly selected in the print dialog box.
I'm trying to insert the picture of the print dialog box, but doesn't seem to be working. In presets (the second selection box from the top) I've got "Print from Main Tray" selected pretty plainly.
Turning the printer on and off does not help.
Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Always the best recommend steps to start off with when troubleshooting with a Mac, is to reset the printing system. Then verify, and repair the disk permissions.
So to start with the reset of the printing system, I have included the document 'Macintosh: Resetting the Printing System in Mac OS X'. Please select your version of Mac, and follow through the steps. If you have Mavericks, you can follow the steps for OS X v10.8. Also, please do not re-add the printer just yet.
After the reset of the printing system, you will need to complete the verify, and repair of the disk permissions. I have included the document 'Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions'. For step three when it asks you to select a disk, please select your hard drive. Once the repair has completed, please restart the Mac.
After the Mac has restarted, you can now add the printer back into the print queue. The try to print. Are you still experiencing the same issue? Or are you able to print from the main tray?
If you do require further assistance, please let me know the version of Mac OS X you are running. If you need it, I have included the document 'Finding your OS X version and build information'.

Acrobat on OSX does not use printer preset. Every single time I have to print I have to click printer and then print to load the preset and then click print again from the main dialog. I am printing to a Xerox that has the copier code in the preset so if

What operating system are you running? I assume they had you install the latest BIOS. True? If it were mine, I would suggest forcing it to use integrated graphics (in the BIOS) to rule out a problem with the NVidia driver.

Icloud calendar. When I try to print from any of my devices, all I get is a black screen..the background of the icloud main site. Need to print. How do I get it to print?

My printer has stop printing from the photo tray. I need to place the photo stock in the main tray

I've a HP PhotoSmart Plus printer B210a. The printer will no longer print from the photo tray. I'm still able to get prints; but I must place the photo stock in the main tray. It becomes a problem, because I sometimes forget the photo stock is the main tray and I waste photo stock when I do my regular printing and only get part it because the photo was still in the tray. Anyway to fix this?

Printing from SAP via main frames

Hi,
We are runnnig Our SAP 47 on Solaris Operating System. We have a requirement for printing form SAP using Mainframe Print Queues. Does any one have any info on how to setup print queues in main frame or printing from SAP via mainframe servers. Any Info would be really helpful.

You can use IBM Infoprint Server for z/OS.

Using Preview when printing from SAP

Just starting to use SAP Java GUI on the Mac and one of the 1st items I discovered was the inflexibility for printing. I would need to define the printer in the preferences of the SAP Java GUI and then anytime I would print it would just go to that printer.
Problem with this is that sometimes I work from within the office, and sometimes from home with as a result that my printer changes.
When on Windows, I also often performed a print from within SAP but then selected the Adobe PDF printer instead so that I had a resulting PDF file.
What I thus really wanted was for anytime I print from SAPGUI to the local printer to get a print dialog just like it does on Windows. I checked around but could not find anything to replace the lp command with on Mac that would then provide this. As a work-around I developed the following small script instead. Now instead of just printing, the print-out will be shown in Preview as a PDF. From here I can then save it as a PDF, print it, mail it, .... anything else one can do with Preview.
This is not the exact solution I wanted as I wanted to just get a print dialog; but this gets me a lot closer to it.
See next post (hopefully as I am having issues posting) for script & steps.

Instructions:
First, make sure that printing is setup for SAP Java GUI. There is sufficient information out there but main items are that the printer within SAP is defined with method G and that the device type os POST2 (for postscript). Also ensure that under output attributes Color printer is checked.
Next create the script. I put it in the /Applications/SAP Clients folder but it can be put anywhere you like. You can name the script however you like, I named it SAPLPD.
First thing the script does is converting the postscript file to PDF and storing it in the user's temporary directory. It adds the timestamp to the filename just to ensure there are no duplicated. It then opens the PDF file using Preview. It will wait for 1 second after which it will remove the file created.
It also looks that all the files in this temporary directory are automatically removed by OSX, so even should the file not have been removed; on next logout (I think) the file will be removed anyhow.
Script:
The script is:

/usr/bin/pstopdf -i -o $TMPDIR/sap_print_$timestmp_$$.pdf
open -a /Applications/Preview.app $TMPDIR/sap_print_$timestmp_$$.pdf

Once you have created the script it needs to be made executable. Do this by open the Terminal, changing to the location where you saved the script and entering the command:
chmod a+x (script name)
So in my case I would have entered the following 2 commands in Terminal:
cd "/Application/SAP Clients"
chmod a+x SAPLPD
Last but not least is changing the command the SAP Java GUI uses for printing. Go into preferences for the SAP Java GUI and go to the Printing section (under Desktop). There for the Print Spooler entry which is currently set to /usr/bin/lp you change that to the script. So for me I have:
/Applications/SAP Clients/SAPLPD
Easiest way to do this is by using the Browse button and then going to where the script is. No parameters are passed to the script so everything else can be removed. What I have is exactly what I show a few lines above.
And that is it, when now printing from SAP it opens the print-out in Preview and from there I can select my printer options etc.
Use of the script is on your own risk. It works for me but there is no guarantee that it will work for you.

Thanks for clarifying that information.
You would have to restore the printer's defaults and reset up the printer on their network at the new location every time, to be able to print from the clients computer and you would have to connect to their network on your computer and add the printer back in again with the new IPv4 address.
Another way you could do this is through a USB connection or use the Wireless Direct.
You would have to enable the Wireless Direct on the printer through the printer's Embedded Web Server if you didn't select this feature during the installation. This will allow both computers to connect directly to the printer and print, but keep in mind you won't have internet access at the same time. So you can print when connected to the printer's network or connect back to the main network again to access the internet.
Here are the steps for enabling the Wireless Direct through the printer's Embedded Web Server if you decide to go this route. Print a configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address. Printing a Configuration Page.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
Then click on the Networking tab, select Wireless Direct Setup on the left side and check the Enable wireless direct printing.
I hope I explained that alright for you. The USB connection would most likely be the easiest way to go.

Trying to print from my labtop grrrr

My HP photosmart C7280 use to work fine on the wireless network all of sudden it quit. I can print from my desktop but cannot print from the labtop. The labtop says the printer is offline, but the printer says it is online. Any help would be appreciated.

How is the desktop and printer connected to your network (wired or wireless)? I assume the laptop is wireless.
What kind of wireless-router are you using?
