Using purchased Lightroom on other computer

Hi,
I'm looking to buy Lightroom 4 but I have a problem. If I install it on my desktop, and for some reason wanted to use Lightroom on my laptop, do I need to buy a new one or can I just transfer the software?

No, your are allowed two installs. Windows or Mac, or a mixture of both.

Turns out I had to 'unhide' purchases. I unhid before but FCP X still didn't show up. I had to sign out then sign back in for some reason. Afterwhich I had to unhide from the iCloud box within the App Store. Worked.

  • I got a new Kobe and i am unable to register it on Adobe, when I log in to my account I receive the following error message "you can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile d

I got a new Kobo and tried to register it so that I can download books from the public library. When I tried to register my device I received the following message " You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Please try again.

Please refer to Can't authorize with a previously used Adobe ID

  • Adobe ID error must use "Adobe ID that hasn't previously been used to authorize any other computer"

I am doing some testing and screenshots for my public library right now. After upgrading from ADE 1.7 to 2.0 on an authorized machine, I pressed CTRL + SHIFT + D in order to deauthorize. I then attempted to add the exact same Adobe ID to the computer and a get this error message.
"You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn’t previously been used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Please try again."
This is bizzare and goes against my understanding of ADE. In 1.7, you could use the same Adobe ID on any combination of (6) device. This seems to be suggesting that my Adobe ID must be original each time one authorizes. My questions are:
Does this really mean one needs to make a new Adobe ID every time you use CTRL + SHIFT + D?
What happens to hold DRM ebooks on your computer that were tied to the Adobe ID that ADE 2.0 won't accept?
If anyone has any insights on this, I'd love to hear them.

No.  You previously authorized the computer anonymously, and you can only 'upgrade' an anonymous user to one that hasn't been used before.
You can either de-authorize the anonymous user (and lose all access to content tied to that user), or you can use a brand new AdobeID that hasn't been used for ebooks before.
If you just activated anonymously by mistake and don't have any content yet, you most likely want to deactivate and start again.

  • You can only authorize this computer with an Adobe id that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile device

When I try to download a library book on my Kobo reader, I keep getting this message. First it tells me to change the computer's authorization to be associated with an Adobe ID. When I click on authorize after logging in, the message keeps telling my "you can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile device. I have no idea what this means. Help!

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help, and indeed installation can even trigger this state.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
    Another is  "E_AUTH_NOT_READY"
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people.  Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. • PC issues - installing Lightroom on other computer

    Dear Adobe Communities,
I purchased Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 in July 2014 and recently had a major incident with my PC (burnt motherboard and crashed hard disk). As a result I switched my computer to Mac and I was wondering if I can still use the Lightroom 5 I purchased and install it on my Mac (i.e. use the serial number quoted in the email received from Adobe with the product order).
Thanks in advance for any help!
    Tom

You should be able to as long as you install the Mac version.

  • Unable to use purchased music in other iLife programs

I am trying to use an iTunes purchased song in an iPhoto slideshow. When I do I get an error message saying that this computer is not authorised to play this music. The computer in fact is authorised and iTunes plays the music fine. I have repeatedly tried re-authorising to no avail. I have encountered the same problem in iDVD. Am I not able to use a purchased song in other iLife programs? Is there any way to solve this problem?

Burn the purchased music out to an AUDIO cd, then reimport in any format you like. The reimported version should work fine with your other iLife projects. This is a common problem when trying to use purchased iTMS tunes in iMovie and iDVD.

  • Transferring purchased songs to other computer

It shows that songs were purchased in my history from another computer, but they are not in my playlist library. ALso how do I guarantee that all my purchased and downloaded songs stay in my itunes account when I deactivate a computer. Getting ready to get two new computers, but there will be a few days in between i will not even have the old two that shared my account...help!!

You need to copy them from the computer you purcahsed them with to the other computer. You can use CD/DVD, external hard drive, flash drive or network the computers.
ALso how do I guarantee that all my purchased and downloaded songs stay in my itunes account
Songs don't "stay" in your account. They stay on your computer and on your backup disks. If you get rid of your computers befefore you make a backup of your songs, you will lose your songs.

  • Downloading purchased songs onto other computer

I have a laptop, and a desktop. They both have iTunes. And they both have this problem.
Ill purchase a song on one, then go to add it to the other one. But iTunes just tells me that all avaliable songs are downloaded. When they clearly aren't updated. They are in my purchase history

But iTunes just tells me that all avaliable songs are downloaded.
The single purchase only entitles you to a single download. Right-click the song you just purchased, choose Get Info, find its location, copy that file to the other computer's hard disk, and drag it into the open iTunes window.

  • Downloading purchased songs on other computer

New iTunes user here, so forgive me if this question has an embarrassingly easy answer!
If I've purchased and downloaded a song on one computer, as I understand, I'm allowed to play that song on any other computer that I've authorized. But how do I get that song from one computer to another? It seems that I just can't download it directly from iTunes again. Please help, thanks!

Find the song that you downloaded (probably My music> itunes > itunes music > 'artist' > 'Album')
copy it to a USB stick or something
plug in USB stick on new computer
ensure that in iTunes prefs, under 'advanced' that 'Copy files to iTunes library...' is ticked.
Drag file from usb stick directly to the music icon on the left hand side, or select 'file > add to library' from the menu
Ensure that your iTunes is authorised... attempting to play the file should prompt you for this
You can only authorise 5 iTunes instances at any one time
    Regards
    Paul

  • Using purchased music in other software

I have a digital scrapbook program and I can add music. I copied a song off of a CD I own in iTunes and it played well in the program. I just purchased an album from the iTunes store and the songs show up for selection in the software but are grayed out. Is there some iTunes trick I need to learn. I am using a Macbook with iTunes 8. The soft ware program is called Memory Mixer. Help I love the music and want it to be background for my digital scrapbook. Janet

Thank you Chris. I wish I had known that before I downloaded from the iTunes store. Now I will need to go and buy the CD as it has the music I want. Live and learn is my story on the computer. Again thank you for the prompt and informative reply. Janet

  • Cant use purchased items on new computer with new email address

i bought a new laptop then changed isp from aol to bt then backed up my itunes from old laptop to disc ,tried to put music from discs onto new laptop with new email address and my purchased items are on itunes but cant use them as a message appears saying that i cant play music due to computer not being autherised but when i go to autherise computer in itunes the message your computer is autherised appears ......... please help

I have almost the exact same problem. I have a bunch of music, ringtones, TV shows, movies... stuff that I purchased that I can't authorize. All of these items were purchased with the same account I'm still using now. The difference is that I've changed my email address. I don't have the original email address from when I made those purchases and I'm unable to authorize them. I can see that when I view info on one of these purchases the "Account Name: " has my old email address... not my iTunes or Apple account. So, if I'm authorizing my iTunes using my new email none of these older purchases will work.
I'm really curious how to fix this. I've got quite a few purchases from years back that I'd like access to, but I can't authorize using my new email/iTunes or my old email (the one used for the original purchases).
Take a look at the info and tell me if you see "Account Name:" on one of your purchases. And is that associated to your old email address? There has to be a way to fix this or 'transfer' older purchases, especially if it's all under the same real 'account'.

  • Warning: You can only authorize this computer with and Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devices. Please try agian.

How do I resolve this warning?

    Something to try --
Use a different Adobe ID to "authorize" the computer.
Or, remove existing authorization associated with the Adobe ID from one computer / device.
    Be well...
