Using Safari while traveling in foreign countries

I am traveling a lot these days and I have noticed some sites won't allow me to access them. I get the message (contents on this page is not available in your area). Does anybody knows if there is a possibility to change the setup for Safari when temporarily in a foreign country?

I don't think so. What you're describing is not a Safari problem. The problem stems from the internet access in the country you're visiting. Safari can't view a web site if the ISP you are using is blocking that site.
(I'm sure there are some ways to hack something to get around the ISP blocking, but that's far beyond the scope of this forum and, again, not a Safari issue.)

Try running Pandora in its own tab and leaving that tab open (Safari 7.1.5, OS 10.9.5).  I don't have Pandora to try this, but it works for me otherwise.
    Good luck

    Get Adblock or GlimmerBlocker.

  • What is needed to use ipad while travelling in Europe?

Boss wants to take ipad with wifi and use while in Europe . .  .what does he need to do before he goes?

All he needs is the appropriate plug adapter for the country he's visiting so he can charge the iPad.  The wifi should just work with all public wifi's he will encounter.  Of course, he'll need to log in and pay for most.

  • Why can't I use safari while on call?

I recently transferred to Verizon and bought IPhone6 plus

        Nelcris,
That's a great phone! Welcome to the Verizon Wireless family. At this time the iPhone 6  only supports this capability if you are using our Advanced Calling on a call. What zip code are you in? This service will only work in 4G LTE areas. Also, visit http://vz.to/1tHDfR1 to set up this feature on your phone.

  • Using the ipad for coding while travelling (mobile NAS?)

    Hi there,
I am aware this sounds a bit cooky; getting a Macbook air is certainly easier, but:
I am looking for input from other people who are using their iPad for coding.
Apps like textastic require internet(/server) access, however sometimes that's neither available nor preferable, e.g. when travelling in foreign countries.
For building lightweight php sites or small CMS based sites, it would be perfect to have some sort of mobile localhost access,
or at least something that doesn't require internet.
Wouldn't it be possible to run a webserver from let's say, a small wireless HDD/NAS?
Don't know any really small options. Any reccomendations?
Another way would be to install lighthttpd via cydia I suppose, but can textastic even access this then?
Any other ideas I am missing?
    thx folks!
    Phil

Check out pogo plug device, it allows you to upload camera roll via wifi.

  • I used to have a mobile me account to use when I travel.  I have an older power mac G5.  How can I get into my email when I am out of the country.  My computer is too old to use I cloud.  I have updated it as far as I can with operating systems.

I have a Power Mac 5 WITHOUT an intel processer/  I have updated my computer to snow lepord which is as far as I can go.  I am unable to use the cloud.  I used to have a Mobileme account and used it when I traveled to foreign countries yo read email.  I do not know how to acess my email when traveling now.  My email address is through mac.com.  Please advise as there must be a way.  We are traveling to South America soon for about a month and I need to know how to access my email from afar.
    Thanks!

    Hi Margaret,
I have a Power Mac 5 WITHOUT an intel processer/  I have updated my computer to snow lepord which is as far as I can go.
I think you updated to Leopard/10.5.x, Snow Leopard/10.6 is Intel only.
Actually you're in luck, you can still use iCloud for eMail on PPC using 10.4.11 or 10.5.8, but it must be IMAP, not POP...
    iCloud Mail setup...
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
    Port: 587
    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    Password: Your iCloud password
One secret I think is when setting it up don't choose the .me/.mac type, it'll auto fill in .mac as the server which won't work, go back afterwards & change the servers.

  • Can I use iPad (in contract) in other countries while I am travelling with there local SIM? Or, only WiFi will be available when I travel?

Can I use iPad (in contract) in other countries while I am travelling with there local SIM?
Or, only WiFi will be available when I travel? Or, nothing will work?

Either will work. 4G only works in Canada and the USofA. In foreigh countries the New iPad will fall back to 3G if you have a local sim and iPad data plan from a local provider.
    Read the specs: http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/

  • I am going to travel abroad, what do I do to have my iphone working in foreign countries

I am going to travel abroad, what do I do to have my ihone working in foreign countries

That depends on what you mean by "working".
If you want to use local SIM cards in the countries you'll be travelling to, contact your carrier and ask what their policy on unlocking is.
If you want to make calls, etc. using your existing carrier, contact them and make sure international roaming is enabled on your account.

  • How can I use the Netflix app on my iPad while traveling outside the US?

Is there any way to use the Netflix app on my iPad while traveling out of the country? I am curently in Russia. I downloaded software to mask my IP address on my laptop. Is this possible for the iPad?

There's no way to mask or hide an IP address on an iPad that I am aware of. As to using Netflix from outside of your country, ask Netflix about that.
    Regards.

  • I tried to update the App that I purchased but the message told me that my Apple account is not valid for use outside of US and I must switch back to US store to able to do it. How can I switch the account from foreign countries back to US?

    On your phone (from http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311):
    Change your iTunes Store country
Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you'd like to use. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
Follow the onscreen process to change your region, agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information.

  • I can no longer add an attachment to my e-mails while in Firefox, but am able to when using Safari. Why?

I use FF 22.0 on my iMac (OS 10.6.8). Within the last day or so I can no longer add attachments to my att webmail emails while using FF - - doesn't matter what kind of file. Adding attachments to my att webmail using Safari works just fine. I prefer using FF.
This problem seems to have popped up out of the blue. Any suggestions? At att's suggestion I deleted the FF cache and cookies, but this had no effect.

#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.

Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
