Using SAINT to apply NW EHP1

Hi,
Is it possible to use SAINT as opposed to SAPEHPI to install EHP1 for Netweaver? This is not a Solution Manager system and my main attempt is to enhance SAP_BW. Currently on:
SAINT level 33.
SAP_ABA 700 0018
SAP_BASIS 700 0018
SAP_BW 700 0020

I reviewed the Installation guide that Sergo provided the link to and there is a statement that indicates SAP "recommends" using SAPehpi for 64bit machines. I am assuming that this is for performance and reduced downtime more then anything else. In other words there is not an increased risk of data corruption using SAINT versus SAPehpi. Can anyone verify my assumption?

We are updating Solution Manager from SP16 to SP 23 using SAINT in ABAP. I have added all the requirements and updating getting SAINT. The Provouge and the Check requirements phase is over. After that it takes a very long time (more than 48 hours)in the * DISASSEMBLE* state. I have checked the Slog. it shows "sapmnt\trans\tmp\SAPKITLORB.SM3 is already in use(87410,87420,87430 etc). I am waiting for 3,2,1 sec etc ". This is the only log shows with reduction in seconds.I have restarted the SAP during disassemble state too, but again it continues with the same log. Pls let me know, Whether i could continue or any otther steps to get imported.
The STATUS/REMARKS in SAINT Shows "The Addon will now be imported with the displayed Queue"

Upgrading EA-PS 600 to 603 By Using SAINT Error in SAINT DDIC_ACTIVATION

In our Production System We have ECC 6.0 Ehp-4,but for my public sector comp[onent i have EA-PS 600,i need to upgrade it to EA-PS 604, For that i need to upgrade to EA-PS 603 and then EHP-4,First im gng for EA-PS 603 ,by using SAINT Tool im dng this task,but in ddic_activation phase im facing the following problem
The installation was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase
DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Add-On Installation Tool is unable to resolve
without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Continue in the queue display.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:

Hi,
why you are upgrading it first to EHP3 and then to EHP4 ?
I will suggest you to directly upgrade it to EHP4, for this you just need to download stack xml file from solution manager and provide that in SAINT transaction so that it will upgrade to component to 604 in one step rather than 603 and then 604.

I am trying to install BI_CONT 3.5.3 using SAINT tool on SAP system (ABAP+Java with Oracle) on AIX 5.3.
The SAR archive is SAPKIBIFIH, and the package file is: CSN0120061532_0020014.PAT.
However, the following error was generated during the installation process:

I can't use Firefox when applying for jobs on LinkedIn.

I am unable to use Firefox when applying for a job through LinkedIn. It will not allow me to upload a PDF of my resume/letter. However, if I switch to Safari, I am able to do so. is there an easy fix for this or is it something that needs to be resolved by Firefox. I prefer to use Firefox, but will use Safari for this purpose if that is the only solution.

How can you add a where clause using "OR" with applied ViewCriteria?

I am using JHeadstart, but have a question probably more in the ADF area. On the JHeadstart forum I asked:
"I am overriding JhsApplicationModule's advancedSearch in order to be able to search in childtables. I created transient attributes, display those in advanced search and in the overridden method I check if any of these are filled by the user and create a where clause like 'EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM <childtable> WHERE <column in childtable> = <column in EO's table> AND <another column in childtable> LIKE '<value supplied by user>)'. I add this whereclause using ViewObject.setWhereClause.
So far so good and it works. However, if the user selects 'Result matches any criteria', combining setWhereClause and the normal advancedSearch QueryByExample implementation using ViewCriteriaRow do not provide the desired result, since the ViewCriteria and the setWhereClause are AND-ed together, which is fine if the user selects the (default) "Results match all criteria" (everything is AND-ed) but not the "Result matches any criteria", since then every criterium is OR-ed together, except for the setwhereclause criteria and the set of ViewCriteriaRows, they are AND-ed.
I looked if I could specify that a WhereClause will be OR-ed to existing applied ViewCriteria, but no luck. Do I have to rewrite also advancedSearch's ViewCriteria implementation and write an entire setWhereClause implementation to be able to "OR" every criterium? Or any other suggestions? Can I look at the entire Where clause and rewrite it (after applyCriteria and setWhereClause are called on the VO)?

To simplify the test case, you could create a simple ADF BC test client class in a test Model project without JHeadstart (in the test class, use bc4jclient + Ctrl-Enter), in which you first apply a few ViewCriteriaRows to a View Object and also add a where clause.

Cannot delete mails in public folders using OWA after applying SP3 RU5

Hello,
we recently applied service pack 3 rollup 5 to our Exchange 2010 server (before it was running rollup 4).
Ever since, when we try to delete a mail in a public folder using OWA we get the message "An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled". Each attempt also causes error 108 in the application log (Outlook Web App couldn't
connect Exchange Web Services due to a configuration error. Response code = "500".) which is not accompanied by any other errors.
Neither uninstalling the rollup nor restoring the server's system state to a point before installation of RU4 could fix the error. Deleting mails in a mailbox still works fine, it's only within public folders and only in OWA.
Any ideas?

Note It is a known issue that this configuration may cause an exception .

Can't use DBCA after applying patch on solaris

Hi all,
I have installed Oracle10g 10.2.0.1.0 on Solaris, after that I have created databases which are fine creating with DBCA. After that I upgraded patch from 10.2.0.1.0 to 10.2.0.3.0. now, when I try to use DBCA, It's throwing some TNS errors.
After that I downgraded to 10.2.0.1.0 and when I start DBCA, It's working fine.
Is there error while applying upgrade patch?
Please advice me...

EHP4 sp upgrade using SAINT?

We upgraded our ABAP only ER6.0 server to EHP4 sp3 using the EHPI tool. Now we want to upgrade to EHP4 sp4. I really liked the SAINT tool using the STACK xml file to upgrade our Solution Manager stack. I also liked using the xml file to upgrade j2ee servers. I'm not a big fan of transaction SPAM. . Can we use generate a stack xml file and use transaction SAiNT to go from SP to SP inside an enhancement pack for ABAP systems.? Or do I still have to use SPAM for going from sp to sp inside an enhancement pack?
I can't find any sap docs on this question.

I am not agreeing to your point. If you want to install EHP4 SP3 to EHP4 SP4 then you can use SPAM/JSPM to install the packages.
EHPI tool is used to install base packages.
This is what SAP has suggested.

Error while using 2001 to apply for leave

Hi,
I have customized for accrual of leave using RPTQTA00. The leaves are getting generated correctly.
However when I am trying to apply for leave using 2001, the error stating "subtype not valid" is shown.
I have checked the Entry Screen and it is set to 2001. Deduction rules are defined and assigned respectively in the counting rule.
Could anyone please help? Where could I be missing out?

Plz Check Table V_001P_D for Personnel sub area Grouping.
Then chk your Absence Catalog>>>Define Absences.
If the absences types are there for the specific grouping then the error should'nt come.

Cannot move or trash items because "in use" - Need an "apply to all" option

In manually transferring items on my MacBook to my external hard drive I accidentally dropped the items into the desktop folder. I have everything backed-up properly on my external hard drive now. I attempted to move all of the items to the trash. I am prompted with "these items are in use and cannot be trashed - stop or continue." Continue works and I can throw them into the the trash. The problem -- THERE ARE 8,722 items!!! It is making me hit continue for each item. I cannot push continue 8,722 times. I need an "apply to all" button, but it doesn't offer me that. Is there another solution?

Try disconnecting the external drive and restarting your Macbook. That might solve your problem of not being able to do a bulk trash drop and empty.

USING CAPTURE WITHOUT APPLY OR PROPAGATE

Does anyone know how to set up a capture process to work without a propagate or apply process? We would like to use capture to enqueue and manually dequeue to an external non-Oracle environment.

An apply process is required to access the captured changes. However, you can use the apply process to re-enqueue the LCRs into the queue so that another application can work with them. Using a pattern, apply it with brushes?

I can make patterns but stuck on how to apply them to the canvass using an array of brushes. Can anyone help?

You can use the pattern stamp tool, which works like the clone stamp, but it samples your pattern. This isn't like using a brush to apply one pattern, but more like the clone stamp that brushes on a pattern in increments - depending upon the size of the brush.
There is also a host of Deco scripts that you can use to fill an area. You can select a variety of styles from brick, crossweave, spiral, etc. You can access these by going to Edit>Fill then selecting pattern for the fill type, then select "Scripted Patterns." There is a drop down list of scripts to use. Since they're written in javascript, you can create your own patterns. With the CS6, you need to edit the script if you want to change the way the patterns are placed. I wrote a script that does this for you, and you can download it and the instructions at:
