Using SAP Solution Composer

Hello,
I am using the Solution Composer for creating interactive pages which would eventually be part of our ESR on the lines of SAP's own ESR. However I've not been able to create pages the way I want them to look.
Can anybody help me accomplish what I'm trying to do?
Any kind of help will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Kumod.

Alright, let me give you some more specifics about what I am trying to do.
Using Solution composer I am trying to create HTML pages just like SAP's ESR pages. That is, the main business areas on the first page. Then on clicking on a business process, you are taken to another page listing the enterprise services available for that business process and then finally you are taken to the web service description page. This is the kind of functionality I am trying to achieve using Solution Composer. This can be easily achieved using Microsoft Frontpage, however I want to use Solution Composer for doing it.
Can anybody help me with this?
Thanks!
Kumod.

  • Use of Solution Composer

    Dear Gurus,
I am new to Business Process Expert area. When I read some documents on BPX, I came across that solution composer will help the analyst. Can any one help what is the exact use of solution composer? How effectively I can use it for Requirement gathering and analyzing? Where I can find more help about the solution composer? What are other tools available to expert in BPX?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
in the solution composer you find the Business or Solution Maps. These maps show the different business scenarios along the value chain and bundle together single business processes. The more you drill down the more details you will find, e.g. what SAP or partner applications are available to execute a scenario, process or process step. A more detailed description you can find here:
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/businessmaps/pdf/MISC_SAP_Solution_Composer_8_2005.pdf
You can also download the solution composer and install it on your local machine. Just follow this link:
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/businessmaps/composer/index.epx
After you made yourself familiar with the tool you can immediately start to build your own maps.
But how does it help you?... Well what you can do e.g. is to build your own map and describe your process flows and requirements. Then you can match them to the SAP descriptions and check what applications are available. You can also go one step further and visit the ES Workplace (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/explore-es), which is an online version of the solution composer and check out what services are available to build own processes.
    I hope this helps!
    Best regards,

  • SAP Solution Composer

    Hello,
I'm trying to download the SAP Solution Composer. After I hit the SUBMIT I get the same page where I fill out name, e-mail etc. So no file download! Any tips, how to download the Solution Composer? I understood this is a PC based tool.
    Regards,
    Lucas

    Hi,
I'm not quite sure but here are some suggestions:
    - is JavaScript turned on?
    - try with a different browser
    - check security settings of your browser, what happens when hitting SUBMIT is that you can download an install file named smc_public.exe which has to be executed to download Solution Composer. This was actually my problem when I installed Solution Composer the first time.

  • Adding existing RWD uPerform documents using SAP Solution Manager Adapter?

    Note# 1468552
Cannot add existing RWD uPerform documents using the SAP Solution Manager Adapter.
Currently, a user can only create a new document with the Solution Manager Adapter; there is no
ability to add existing uPerform documents that have already been created.
RWD has submitted an enhancement to SAP requesting this functionality.
    Hi All,
Has there has been any update on the functionality to add existing RWD uPerform documents to Solution Manager? I have found a note from 2010 stating that this functionality has been submitted as a enhancement. My question is, has this feature been implemented yet? If not, does anyone have any suggested work-arounds for this issue?
    Thanks in advance!
    Stephanie

    Hi Stephanie,
I can't find much information on this topic.
You could create a message in component SV-SMG-SPA.

You could monitor the size of a file system that the queue is stored on.

  • Implementing ASAP Methodology using SAP Solution Manager

    Hi All,
Can any one help me with any documentation regarding ASAP methodology implementation using Solution Manager.
The step by step process and transaction codes used for implementing it are there any guides provided by SAP for implementing the ASAP methodology in Solman.
It's an implementation project that we would like to track each phase in Solman.
Kindly help me to get more details.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
There are the 'ASAP Implementaion Roadmaps' wheras the latest available
is the 'ASAP Methodology for Implementation 7.0' Roadmap, and there are
the 'Upgrade Roadmaps' wheras teh lastest one of them is:
    'Upgrade Roadmap (V3.2)'.
If you are on ST-ICO 150 SP24 both of these Roadmaps
should be available in your system.
There are two ways to display the roadmaps in RMMAIN.
One is to choose a project in RMMAIN, then the roadmap assigned to
the project in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN is displayed.
The other one is to display any available roadmap in the system
To display one of the available roadmaps (without a project) choose
the button 'Other Roadmap' in RMMAIN and in the upcomming popup
    hit the button 'No Project'.
After that you should get an addtional button besides the Project
    button called Roadmaps (Other Roadmap).
When you hit now this button you will get a list of all available
    roadmaps.
Some further notes for referencing (although they can be old but still helpful)

  • Document Management in SAP Solution Manager

    Hi All,
I would like to know If you are using SAP Solution Manager as a central tool for overall Documentation Management?
Could you please share some information about your solution?
    Many thanks.
    Regards,
    Ridouan

    Hi Ridouan,
For this i suggest two options:
*Use Template Projects to manage templates:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/Template+Projects
*Use Solutions to re-use some structures:

  • Upgrade to SAP Solution Manager 3.2 to 7.0 EHP

    Dear Experts
At present I am using SAP Solution manager 3.2. Now I am planing to update SAP Solution Manager 7.0.
I am some confutation in SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1,
what i do please help me.
    Regards
    Sanjay C.

EHP1 is basically a product enhancement of 700 - i.e offers new functionality
Usually to get to Enhancement packages you need to be operating NW2004S stack based product - in this case 4.0 (now called Solution Manager 7.0)
I think this proposal will require first an upgrade from 3.2 to 4.0
then after applying Enhancement Package EHP1 and following pre-reqs for both steps
Also bearing in mind that Solution Manager is RFC dependant any change in SID, Hostname or client will require
all RFC connections will need to be adapted
There may also be special considerations depending on source configuration or the active Solution Manager scenarios and content
I would take a look at following PDF for reference - it may help in the initial 3.2-->4.0 upgrade

  • Competitors for SAP Solution Manager within central system monitoring

    Hello!
We currently use SAP Solution Manager (CCMS monitors from RZ20) for the central system monitoring for several SAP systems.
Are there some other tools/competitors that can also serve as central platform for system monitoring of several SAP systems?
    (e.g. HP OpenView).
    Many thanks!

    Hello,
You may want to take a look into the EarlyWatch Alert report.
It's a weekly report that gives information about many different areas of your systems and helps you to maintain them. It helps to detect problems before they occur by analysing trends on your systems and alerting about it. It definitely may work taking a look into it: service.sap.com/ewa.
It does not have an additional cost, all you need is a solution manager.
    Regards,
    Daniel.

  • Update SAP Solution Manager 7.0 to EHP 1 with SP 19

    Hi!
We use SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SP 17) on Linux with Oracle
and would like to update this system to EHP1 SP19.
First of all I installed ST-ETP Add-On via SAINT to call the system "Enteprise Edition"
Now I have few questions about the further procedure:
    1) can this update from SP 17 --> SP 19 be implemented via SAINT and with one step?
    2) what is the documentation of this process?
    3) are there any restrictions about Linux and 32 Bit?
    Thank you very much!

  • Installation of SAP Solution Manager 4.0

    Hello!
I have one question regarding the installation of SAP Solution Manager 4.0
Do I  need to consider the Unicode-installation of SAP Solution Manager 4.0?
We use  SAP Solution Manager just for the following scenarios:
<b>Maintenance Optimizer</b> (to patch the existing SAP-systems from SAP Solution Manager)
    and <b>monitoring-functionality (CCMS)</b>
    Thank you!
    Axel

    Hi,
Thank you very much to  Dolores Correa  and Markus Döhr for replying for my querry.FYI-My system users only use English and I do not have any problem of chineese. My problem is that I am not able to install Non-unicode kernel. The Solution manager installation program(sapinst) only takes Unicode kernel CD whereas my satellite systems are non-unicode.Now if unicode solution manager can work with non-unicode satellites, then the problem is solved.
    Warm Regards,

  • Performance issue within SAP Solution Manager

We use SAP Solution Manager 4.0, SPS 13 for System Monitoring of almost 100 systems.
We configured SOLMAN as CEN system and activated the CCMSPING with –push option.
For almost the 2/3 of the systems we configured SAPCCM4X agents.
Our current problem is a performance issue in tcode DSWP. When we try to enter into one of the solutions there (by pressing on it) we get the following warning:
    Determining warning messages from CCMS
It tooks a while and then it is possible to access  the desired solution.
My important question is of course:
How can this issue be solved?
Is there some techniques to analyse and change the problem
How can I check whether the SOLMAN works in a pull or push mode, when the data from the satellite systems will be collected and how can this be changed?
As I know there are two ways of sending/retrieving the data:
    via RFC (pull)
    via CCMS (push)
    Which method is faster?
Is there some changes in CCMSPING possible? (interval for sending/retrieving the data)?
Is there some other settings, e.g. like profle parameters (e.g. rdisp/...) that could be performed to solve the problem?
Thank you very much for any helpful information
    Regards
    Thom

Push is beter for performance. SAP advice.
Maybe activating Central Data Cache on the CEN and SolMan with parameter alert/cache/size_MB can help.

  • ES Pool in Solution Composer

    Hello,
if somebody know what corellation is between services in ES Workplace an in SAP Solution Composer ES Pool ?
    Regards
    Krzysztof Ziemba

    Thanks,
but most (if not any) of the services in Enterprise Services Workplace (ES Workplace on SDN) and in proposed EP1 (ES Packages in SDN Wiki)are not listed in Solution Composer ES Pool.
Eventually they are diffirent - have diffirent interfaces and operations, eg Business Partner Data Management process component in ES Workplace and Business Partner Data Management Enterprise Service (process component ?) in SC ES Pool.
Generally all services in ES Pool are Future Focus.
I would like to know if origin off all ES is common (SAP and ES Community) ?
    Regards
