Using SC Express channel for trigger

Hi everyone,
So I have what seems on the surface to be a relatively simple problem, but I have been struggling with it. I have a PXIe chassis and four PXIe-4331 bridge sensor modules. I want to use one of the channels from the module in slot 2 of the chassis as a trigger source (for example, this channel may be a load cell and it starts a load and strain acquisition task upon a certain load level). The trigger would begin a high speed acqusition phase for a certain duration and the task would return waveforms for all channels a certain number of milliseconds before the start trigger until a certain number of milliseconds after the end trigger. This would be extremely easy in Software Land but I'd like to keep my acquisition rate up around the 2kHz range so I'm stuck with hardware triggering and buffering.
I was trying to figure out how to drive a PXI _TRIG line or other such trigger line for this purpose, but it seems as though the PXIe-4331 cannot do this. Can a virtual channel drive a PXI-TRIG? Has anyone dealt with this problem or does anyone have any suggestions?

Hello Jordan!
Please take a look at the NI PXIe-4330/4331 User Manual for more information about triggering off PXIe-4331 signals using the TRIG lines. Start at page 2-30 for specific information on types of triggers you can use from your channels. Then look at page 3-1 for information on how to work with TRIG lines.
If you are already following this procedure and still running into problems, please answer the following questions:
1. Is the module in slot 2 a PXIe-4331? It is somewhat ambiguous in your initial question and I just want to verify.
2. What chassis are you using?
3. How are you creating your trigger and how are you routing it to your TRIG lines? What software (with version) are you using to do these things?
4. Is there a certain part of the procedure in the Manual that you are concerned about?

It sounds like you want to setup your Airport Express to Airplay music from iTunes. I found an article with steps to help you get this setup:
Connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network, exclusively for iTunes music
AirPort Express used exclusively for AirPlay by setting it up in Client Mode.
Choose this configuration if the computer containing your iTunes library may be out of direct range of the AirPort Express, but is within range of the Wi-Fi network.
How to Set It Up
Connect your AirPort Express to your home stereo or powered speakers.
From your computer, join the wireless network. Use the AirPort status menu in the menu bar on a Mac. On a Windows-based computer, hold the pointer over the wireless connection icon until you see your AirPort network name (SSID), and choose it from the list if there are multiple networks available. Enter the network password, if necessary.
Open iTunes on your computer and choose the AirPort Express(es) you wish to stream music through from the speakers pop-up menu in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.

If the built-in plug-in for FrontPage doesn't work, then the standalone versions should still work.

Using new Distribution Channel for dealers.

Currently Domestic sales is operating only on one channel DD.
Proposal is to set DR channels for all Dealers sales and DD will be used only for Retail Sales .
DR Channel was previously configured but we were only using DD channel for both retailors & dealers sales.. all configuration is already done like sales area setup and pricing etc. for DR channel
so i would like to what are the pros and cons for using two Distribution channel and maintainence we require.

You need to extend all customers and materials for new distribution channel.
You also neeed to maintain prices for DD and DR channels separately.
ITs advantage is this that your reporting will be separately executed. You can check how much sales you have done in retail and how much you have done in Whole sale.
I dont know what kind of business your company is running. I suggest you to make a provision for 3rd distribution channel which is DC. B2B sales. corporate sales. May after some months or years your company feel need of it.
For extending customers and materials 2 uploads will do this. Ask you ABAPER to create uploads.
There must be separate distribution channels for corporate, retail, wholesale and Expots if your company is dealing with exports sale.

New to LABVIEW. How can I use one analog channel to trigger acquisiton of a signal on another analog channel?

I am new to using Labview and have been tasked to write data acqusition program for my company. We are attempting to log 6 machines, each with their own asynchronous trigger (I can't use one trigger for all 6 machines). I have the idea to use (for example) ai0 for the measurement and ai1 for the trigger (for one machine), yet I see nothing in the documentation on how this is done. I have tried playing around with the DAQ express VI (I am using Labview7) but still don't see a way to have the setup I am looking for. I'm sure this is a relatively easy question, but I'm unsure where to go to look for an answer. Any helpful pointers or guidance in the right direction

If what you want to do is start the acquisition of channel 0 when channel 1 reaches the trigger condition and not start channel 2 until channel 3 reaches it's trigger condition, then no, you cna't do that unless you have multiple daq devices. What can be easily done is continuously acquire all channels and monitor your trigger channels. When the trigger condition is met, then perform the analysis/logging. On the Analyze>Waveform Monitoring palette is the Basic Level Trigger Detection function. Use one for each trigger channel and have it return either the index or relative time of the trigger occurance. This value can then be used to idex that portion of the measurement channel that you're interested in.

Using Signal Express VI for DAQmx, timing & file size issues

I am using a Signal Express VI with my DAQmx. Long story short, my DAQmx VI's don't work in LV 8.6 (possibly IT installation error). I have a few issues (I'm a beginner so be easy).
First, I'm confused on how to get the timing correct. I am trying to read a 100 samples (2 channels) average them and repeat this at 30Hz and record this data.
Second, everytime I open the Signal Express VI (in my block diagram) and change sampling for example, click OK, then save my VI before running my program. I noticed the file on disk increased in size by the megabytes! All I changed were the sampling settings.

To your first concern, it sounds like DAQmx was installed before LabVIEW. Just reinstall DAQmx and it will work fine in LabVIEW.
For you second concern. To get 100 Samples at 30 Hz, you will need to change your channel setup in signal express. You will need Continuous Aquisition, with 100 Samples to Read at 3000 Hz. Then you code should work as expected.

Using Airport Express solely for airtunes question

I am letting my neighbor try out my airport express for airtunes but I ran into a problem setting it up. Her Mac mini Intel 1.5GHz connects to the internet through ethernet from a DSL modem. I want to put the airport express in her family room connected to a stereo. I first tested it by setting up wireless internet and airtunes (ethernet and audio cables plugged into the airport) and I was able to stream music. Then when I plugged the ethernet cable back into the mini I was no longer able to stream music. iTunes would attempt to connect for about a minute but would fail. I was also confused about what settings to use in Airport Admin Utility. I tried "wireless disabled" but then I couldn't even see it in Airport Admin Utility and I had to reset it (what is the point of that setting?!). What do I do?

Wait a second. They can't do it at the same time?
You can stream music and get on the Internet at the same time if (a) the AX is connected directly to the Internet or (b) the AX joins a wireless network which is connected to the Internet.
Can Airport Extreme overcome this limitation?
If you connect an AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) to the DSL modem then you could (a) connect the Mac Mini via Ethernet to the AEBS and (b) have the AX join the wireless network created by the AEBS. Then the Mac Mini could see the Internet and stream music at the same time.

it is only possible if the UDT is registered as part of an object ( UDO ) - further info http://scn.sap.com/thread/3277846 . So for pure UDT actions you have to find another way ( SQL trigger, UI API, periodic query ).

I have achived this scenario using multi mapping in IR.
In ID i have used one bussiness system as Abap related and one is Bussiness Service.In that Bussiness system i have assign two Communiction Channesl.
In Reciever determination u have to select STANDARD and assing the recievers.
In interface dermination u have to select ENHANCED.
Please do these steps u r scenario will work fine.

the regular expression will look like as follows:

Help using multiple audio channels for one video

Hi,
I have a video file with 3 audio files (stereo (.wav), 5.1 surround (.AC3), and commentary (.wav).
I have placed these on the time line of the video track, but now I need to have buttons to target each of them from a menu. However, when is choose a buttons target, is doesn't give me the option of which audio channel to play (A1/A2/A3 etc).
Is this possible with just one track, or do I need 3 (each with a different audio file as A1)?

BTW I would very strongly suggest to compress your WAV files to stereo AC3 files. It will reduce your overall bandwidth, and you will have a disc that will less problems in playing.

Using Airport Express as internet connection for one Mac and one PC

Will probably be judged a complete dork for this question. I have successfully set up my Imac G5 to run an internet connection through an Airport express. My partner runs a PC (Windows XP) and I want to connect this too. Have installed a USB wireless card on the PC, and installed Airport Utility, but it just won't find the Airport Express - it will however find the Imac with something like 96% signal strength. So I set up a network on the Mac and have successfully linked into it with the PC, but it soon comes up with a connectivity problem that will not allow internet browsing. So two questions - can I connect two computers to the Airport Express at once for internet browsing, or do I have to do it through linking the PC to a wireless network? If the latter is the route - any ideas on what the connectivity issue will be? Help!

No, not if the AirPort Express "joins" the wireless network.
No, I do not want to join a network.
It is possible to have the AirPort Express "create" a separate wireless network that would not have access to the Internet, but if you did this, you would need to log off of your normal network....(losing your Internet connection) and then log onto the AirPort Express network when you wanted to listen to AirPlay.
Then, when you wanted to have Internet access, you would have to log off of the AirPort Express network and log back onto your normal wireless network.
Ok, I understand that it is not possible to use airport express only for sound streaming while having an Internet connection at the same time. Airport express does need to join a network if I want sound streaming next an Internet connection. I wanted airport express not to get into way of my Internet connection because in this case the sound streaming messes up sometimes. When I configure airport express only as a sound output, the problems I encounter fade away but then I cannot access to the Internet. Anyhow thanks a lot for the answer.

How to use the same channel to send a file and messages to the server

I'm trying to develop a simple program that will send and receive files from the server and in the same time I need to communicate with the server through the messages
I'm using TCP Socket
my problem is
I have only one channel
so, I have no option, either I can use it for sending the file itself or sending the message .. but not both !
my question is : How can I use the same channel for sending and receiving (file & message)
I would appreciate for any clue or hint
