Using SCM 3.0 with Windows 8.1
I installed SCM 3.0 on Windows 8.1, and I then imported the 8.1 "Beta" baseline and made a copy and modified it. I want to make sure I understand the general schema of how this tool would be used with Windows 8.1 on a standalone computer (no
domain):
1) Use the SCM 3.0 to edit baseline configurations, and to export those as a GPO Folder
2) Use the LocalGPO command line tool to import the GPO Folders as the current local security policy (assuming you are not in a domain with the settings in group policy).
3) Use secpol.msc to view the current security policy.
Is this the basic idea? It's a very disconnected set of user interfaces, and somewhat confusing.
It looks like secpol.msc can only view a subset of all things you can configure in the baseline? Is LocalGPO applying the full baseline settings?
Will
You need to make sure that you have ASIO drivers installed for your audio interfaces. Both manufacturers provide them. ASIO drivers completely bypass anything to do with Windows sound settings as well as providing lower latency.
In Audition's Hardware Setup page Audio Driver box make sure that you select the appropriate interface's ASIO drivers not Windows Sound for both the Edit and Multitrack tab. The various inputs and outputs should then appear in the boxes below.

Has anyone figured a way to use the magic trackpad with Windows 7 on a partitioned disc using Bootcamp?
Yes. After Windows/Bootcamp discovers your bluetooth device (Magic Trackpad or Mouse, be sure to make it discoverable), right click, with your wired mouse, of course, on the icon and select Properties.
Then check the mouse drivers box and your device should work. (I located this solution on another thread)
It works for both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.
Must admit, the solution was not intuitive within the Windows environment. But we all must remember. It IS Windows, after all.
Another thing. Keep in mind that the gestures on these devices that work just dandy in OSX do not carry over into Windows.
It's Windows. -
I hav an apple ID account with balance of $25,00. I used .99 to buy gameapp for grandson. We also downloaded a freebie or two. The games show up under the apps purchased. However I can not get the games to start using my HP laptop with windows 8. Any suggestions on how to play games purchase thru the Apple App Store but played on android deices.? Tkx
You can only use apps from iTunes on iPhone devices.
If you want apps for Android devices then you'll need to download the app on the Google Play Store on your Android devices.
If you don't have the Google Play Store you could dowload if from Google.
Windows 8 also has there own App Store. -
Hi there,
I am planning to use Labview 2010 in a short time.
But before I'm going to use it I have some questions.
I know it is possible to run Labview 2010 in an XP environment. But is it also possible to, when running Labview 2010 on a XP system, to build a project to a version that is useful in a Windows 7 environment?
Or do I have to run Labview 2010, when I want to build a project that is useful on a Windows 7 system, on a system with Windows 7?
Please give me some information.
I hope to hear from one of you soon.
Regards,
Kenny

I wish to use Premeier Elements 13 with Windows XP. Is this possible?

Manstandvd
Just a just in case mention if you try to download and install Premiere Elements 13 to your Windows XP 32 bit or 64 bit computer....
I was able to download the Adobe tryout for Premiere Elements 13 to my Windows 7 64 bit computer, but it would not install as per Adobe's statement that Premiere Elements 13 on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OSX 10.7 is not supported.
If Window XP is your only computer, then you probably will be able to download the Premiere Elements 13 tryout but not install it.
Do you have Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer as well as the XP?

I cant download new music to my ipod. I am now using a new computer with Windows 8.
I cant download new music to my ipod. I am now using a new computer with Windows 8. Itunes is now on the new computer. New songs apear there and will play on the computer.
I plugged my ipod into the computer, it "interacted" briefly, but when finished, the new songs were not on the ipod. (It is an older ipod I have had for years). I just read on a different post how to access the latest itunes program update. I did that, then plugged the ipod into the computer again. The ipod is now real busy interacting with the computer a lot longer. Maybe that fixed it. I will let you know after it is finished. Thanks for the help!

Using the Apple Remote with Windows Media Center
Hello guys
First of all, I am Swiss, so excuse me for my bad English (grammar and stuff...)
So, my problem: I bought the Apple Remote and I think it is very awsome! But since Apple has removed Front Row in Lion, I don't really can use it anymore. So I'd tried to use it with Windows 7 Media Center. But it doesn't work correctly. Does anyone know, how to fix that?
Thank youI had a Green Button remote provided with HP PC XP, Vista for Windows Media Center prior to getting Mac Pro.
Now in Lion, I have Hauppauge WinTV HVR-980 USB adapter (less than $100) including a remote that works in Lion for the Hauppauge TV app.
In Windows, the same remote works with all "Media Center" processes Music, Pictures, TV... instead of mouse/keyboard. If your TV service requires set top box, then you have to use its remote to change channels.
If ISP's internet Co-Ax also carries TV signal, you can get Cable Splitter (smple picture):
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2-Way-TV-RF-Coaxial-Cable-Splitter-CATV-Signal-/320868649 227?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab543090b
and feed 1 co-ax to USB TV adapter, the other to your Modem/Router.
The Hauppage USB was a good choice because it serves Mac & Windows.
Also, In Windows, if you have an XBox, it can be used as "Extender" for your A/V output.

Using VISA Resource control with Windows 7 64-bit
Hi.
My company recently upgraded our laptops, and I'm now working on Windows 7 64-bit rather than Windows XP 32-bit. I reinstalled LabVIEW 2009 Base Package, trusting that the Windows 7 64-bit OS would be able to handle LabVIEW 2009 32-bit without problems. But when trying to run our test system, the VISA Resource control doesn't work.
We use it to get a list of the available COM (RS232) ports on the computer. But now the list comes up blank. The only option that comes up in the list, is the text "Refresh". But nothing happens when I press it. Is this a bug in LabVIEW? I've installed the latest patch I found, so now I'm running LabVIEW v9.0f3 (32-bit).
Thanks alot for any and all assistance!
Solved!
Go to Solution.Sorry for not replying to you earlier. I've been busy on other projects.
I'm not sure what you refer to with MAX, but I'm able to access the com ports using other tools/loggers. So it's not an issue with Windows 7 itself. But it seems logical that the problem would have something to do with running 32-bit drivers on a 64-bit OS. Referring to this list from NI (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/71E9408E6DEAD76C8625760B006B6F98), I'm downloading the 64-bit installer now.
But if I understand it correctly, you cannot run applications from a 64-bit Application Builder on a 32-bit OS. So basically you need the Application Builder installed on both a 32-bit and 64-bit OS to have all bases covered. But in the FAQ, it's asked if it's possible to have both 32-bit and 64-bit LabVIEW 2009 installed on the same 64-bit OS. Why would this be wanted? If you cannot use the 32-bit Application Builder, and you cannot trust that the 32-bit LabVIEW runs successfully (i.e. driver issues etc.), why would you want to have a 32-bit installation on a 64-bit OS?
