Using Senuti to restore music library from iPod to iTunes

I am using Senuti (3rd party software) to restore my iTunes library. Restoring the library is no problem, but when I try to restore the playlists the music is recopied into my iTunes music folder and using up all my available memory. Anyone have any suggestions short of recreating my playlists manually in iTunes?

  • How to transfer music library from iPod to iTunes to replace a failed hard drive on a Macbook Pro?

My MacBook Pro hard drive failed and I was only able to save a few songs out of a library of over 5,000.  My iPod Classic, luckily has the entire library on it, BUT all I can find is how to update the iPod with the current iTunes library on my new and empty MacBook Pro.  How can I do a reverse update, from iPod back to the iTunes library on my computer?

  • How do I restore iTunes music library from ipod(s) and gift card $s?

    Two Questions:
    1) Had to have my hard drive rebuilt due to a major virus issue with my computer. Had to remove all software. Now when I download my new version of iTunes and try to sync my iPod its looking for the previous software iTunes account and wants to either erase or transfer purchases from my iPOD. I do not want to lose my music library on my iPod. What do I do?
    2) How do I get my gift card $s back that I had in my previous iTunes account? I do not have the original cards anymore...

    1) Have you failed to maintain a backup? You should always maintain a backup.
    2) Sign onto your itunes account. The info is still in your account.

  • Trying to reinstall music library from ipod

My wife's macbook had a major crash and hard drive needed to be completely reformatted and rebuilt.
after reinstalling mac os I can't reinstall her itunes library from the ipod ( the only source of her music)
I keep getting an error that says the ipod is already synced to another library and would i like to erase the ipod and sync it with the new itunes.
is there anyway to recover the music from the ipod to the computers itunes?

Yes there are programs out there that will do that for you. Senuti - http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ another is iPod Works - http://www.scifihifi.com/podworks/
iTunes is a one way conduit excluding iTS purchases - from iTunes to the iPod.
To prevent erasing your iPod that is synced to another library - hold down the 'option' + /command keys when plugging in the iPod -- keep the keys down until your iPod shows in the Devices List of iTunes - this will prevent an update of unwanted sync.

  • How to restore music library from match

My music library was stored on an external WD hard drive.  It recently crashed and I was only able to recover a portion of my music files.  I have iMatch, and I can download all my previous music to my iPhone using this service, however I do not know how or if I can download copies of the music files in order to recreate my library.  At the moment, on my Windows8 laptop, when I open iTunes, it states it cannot locate the music file, do I want to locate it.    The "cloud" symbol next to the song states there was an error uploading to the cloud.   Is there a way to recover my music files with iMatch?  and why does my iPhone not show the same "error" that the iTunes applications shows on my laptop?   I have a feeling I will have to reburn the couple hundred CDs I have.

To download more than one track at at time highlight the tracks you want to download, right-click and choose "download." However, this is not the most efficient way to restore an iTunes library. You should restore your personal data from the backups you make to an external HDD. You do make backups, don't you?

  • Transferring entire music library from ipod to second authorized computer

I am writing this for my wife. She has windows machines. It seems that she can only transfer purchased songs from her ipod, not songs that she burned to her ipod from cds she owns. How can one do this? She already authorized the second computer. She has a color screen ipod with 30 gb drive.
Thanks in advance for any help!

The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

  • Restored music library from Time Machine backup, but library didn't change within iTunes. Help?

I don't know much, so please be kind. My iTunes went crazy and relabeled more than 3,000 songs as part of one album by one artist. I tried to fix this by restoring to an earlier-in-the-week version of the music library, but when I opened iTunes afterward, the same error was there. It seems like there must be a way to fix this, and I'm just missing it. Can anyone lend a hand, please?

Additionally, I should point out that the music that exists in iTunes (the actual application) does not agree with the files in the music folder found within the iTunes Media main folder. I don't understand where the wrongly-labeled files are being pulled from when I open iTunes if not from the iTunes Media folder.

  • Can't import library from iPod to iTunes

I was having troubles with my laptop so I was forced to re-load the entire operating system, deleting everything previously on my computer. Now, I'm unable to load all of my songs from my iPod into my new iTunes library. The only ones it is allowing me to import are songs that were purchased through the iTunes store. This is a pain because now I'm unable to listen to music on my computer. Can anyone help?

Go get some 3rd-party software like Yamipod, Copypod, etc.
    Just google "iPod restore"
As you've found out, iTunes will only restore purchased music.
I can't recommend any certain program, since I haven't had to do this.

I managed to sync all of my music files from my ITUNES on my new IMAC Apple computer and I also managed to sync one album to my IPOD NANO from my old G4 Tower Apple computer's ITUNES. Now I would like to copy that one album from my IPOD NANO to my current ITUNES on my new IMAC Apple computer. Do I sync in the manual mode option?

You can't use iTunes to transfer music from iPod to computer unless that music was purchased from the iTunes store.
If so, see: How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Try iPodDisk. This is a program designed to transfer music from iPod to computer.

  • How to restore Music Library after update to iTunes 11?

    Hi guys.
Since updating to iTunes 11, my Music Library isn't what it should be. I've noticed that some songs have moved from their albums to completely new ones, and others songs have gone missing entirely.
When I look in the actual Music Library folder, the songs and albums in question aren't organised anything like they are in iTunes, which makes tracking the missing songs down problematic.
I'm in America at the minute, but I intend using Time Machine to restore things, once I return to England.
Any idea what happened, or a better way of fixing the problem?

Does anyone have any advice? I'm in complete limbo until this is resolved.

  • How do I copy my playlists (not actual music files) from iPod to iTunes

Hello all - I have two hard drives. One for my music files and one for everything else. My "everything else" hard drive crashed over the weekend. This is also where I had iTunes installed. I have all of my actual music files on the other hard drive, so thats not the problem. However, my wife, son, and myself all have iPods - each with its own "playlist". Is there a way to copy the playlist from the iPods to iTunes. I had iTunes setup to automatically update my iPods with any changes to the playlist. Id hate to have to recreate the playlists from scratch.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks for the quick response, wow, I'm gonna need to take a few days off from work having to email myself 391 times! Appreciate the help

  • How to copy podcasts not in iTunes library from iPod to iTunes

When I was a Windows pc user, I had a great free program to copy music & podcasts back into an iTunes library, but now that I own a MacBook Pro, I am lost. There have to be (hopefully free) programs in Mac OS to do this. I have several podcasts that got deleted on my Mac library but as of now still exist on the iPod Touch 4g. Can anyone help?
