Using Separator Bars in TOC

I have a fairly complex help system, and I have 8 required
workflow books, plus several other alternative workflow books.
Based on a lot of internal user testing, users want to see
their topics of interest in the TOC (topics I would not have
thought of including, but got a lot of feedback from users that
they poke the TOC and not the index looking for this info).
However, one linear list of purple TOC books is not digestible (and
using other icons is not useful).
I would like to list ~ 8 required workflow books, followed by
a separator line, followed by ~ 3 alternative workflow books,
followed by a separator line, followed by ~ 3 reference books,
followed by a separator line, followed by a few contact/legal/
website books.
I added books to RH TOC with a separator line, but no topics,
and these books are ignored in the compiled CHM file.
I have been looking on the site for similar topics and do not
find anything. Thanks to anyone for any suggestions.

Hmmm, one thought that occurs to me is that you could create
simple topics that would display for each of these "separator"
books. Assign each book to the appropriate topic. The topics
themselves might only contain an explanation of the purpose of that
particular section. Assuming this is for compiled .CHM use, you
could then ensure the book icon was assigned so they remained as
books and weren't automatically converted to pages.

ICal "all day events" separator bar

Is it possible to adjust the "all day events" separator bar in iCal in the Daily or Weekly view. When you have more than 6 all day events on one day a scroll bar appears, and it's not possible to view all of the all day events at once. I know that this sounds like nit-picking, but I've developed a work-flow where I would like to look at all of the informaiton at once without extra clicks or scrolls, or to glance at the information without having to bring the application to the surface, or make it the active application.
Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the separator bar to allow the user to see more then 6 all day events in the weekly or daily iCal views
Another ideal solution would be additions to the View or the Preference options that would allow the user to view all of the "all day events" and have the separator bar automatically adjust.

I agree with you... this used to be a flexible field and would handle infinate "all day" events. To answer your question... no, you cannot adjust this field. I too use this for business and really need to view all the "all day" events. I've been forced to use the daily view and put a date notation in the "location" field to know when the event ends. It's the only way to see everything.
I found a nice little calendar program SaiSuke but Apple doesn't play well with others. You can enter into the iCal or iCloud calendar program and it will seemlessly appear through iCloud into the SaiSuke calendar. But Apple will not release the information allowing SaiSuke to talk back to iCloud.
Basically what I'm saying is it's a one way conversation between SaiSuke & iCloud, it can bring data in but not return data back. So if you enter a new event in SaiSuke it will not be anywhere other than the iPhone or iPad you entered it on, it cannot make it back to iCloud without plugging your phone in and doing a manual Sync. Of course this process will produce duplicate events.
So unless someone out there has more knowledge ... and you want to have your events be the same on multiple platforms (phone, pad & desktop) we are stuck with using their iCal product. Apple calls this progress.

How to use progress bar for Main and Subsequences in teststand

HI,
I have one main sequence in that I am calling different subsequences (Containing many steps and for loop).
I am trying to use progress bar for this sequence, but my requirement is progressbar is able to show the progress of all the steps containing in Main and subsequences.
I have developed sequence in that I am able to show the progress for only Main sequence steps not for subsequences steps.
Is it possible? If yes please let me know the suggestions.

How to Use PDF417 Bar Code in Oracle 6i. One of my clients has a requirement that Customer Name and Address to be converted into PDF417.

You will need to add this font to the system and Reports configuration files.
For adding font to the system, refer to your system specific guidelines for installing new fonts.
After you have installed this font on the system, you should be able to see the font in Reports builder font picker dropdown box. or with unix 'xlsfonts' command
For adding this font to the Reports application.
1. Modify the printer definition file ( you can get this info from uiprint.txt file for the .ppd or .hpd file used )
if the printer defination file is .ppd then look for "*Font Information" section and add the new font name there
like *Font <new_font_name> Standard '(00.1001)" Standard ROM
If hpd add the new font tfm file as
FONT= new_font_name
/tfm=new_font_tfm file.tfm
2. Copy the AFM or TFM ( these are fonts metrics files, which font vendor will provide ) into the relevant directory so the the Reports application should pick them up.
3. If necessary, make changes in the alias file (uifont.ali ) for mapping to this font. If the layout objects in your report are associated with the same font name as the new font then mapping is not required. But if the fonts for the layout objects are different then you need to map the original fonts to the new ones. Make sure that the mapping rules should be defined in the right section depending on the printer type being used.

Where is separator bar in Mac Mail?

What is the separator bar on Mac Mail? I've suddenly lost the message preview pane and can't figure out how to get it back. In Help it says to double click on the separator bar. What is that?

Check the very bottom of the mail window, there should be a small dot in the middle of the bottom bar. You can grab it and drag it back towards the top of the screen.

HT2490 Mac OS X 10.6.8 - Finder Preview of Quicktimes using Space Bar

I work with a lot of preview Quicktimes and for some reason all the files with a 320X240 aspect ratio are previewing (using space bar) with the wrong frame size (long skinny picture). Any other files with a different frame size are displaying normal.

Using JProgress bar

Dear all
I am trying to you jprogress bar because on the program I am doing at the moment there are a lot of functions that take time to execute and so I thought that it would be good to use jprogress bar but I am not sure how to use it.
I looked at the progress bar demo in the java tutorial but It didn't tell me how to connect the progress bar with my program.
For an instance in my program there is an image and when you click on the "Detect Corners" button all the corners in the image are loaded in the shape of a triangle around the corner but this process takes time and I would like to add progress to show the progress but I am not sure how to do that.

How to restore an app to recently used app bar after deleting it from bar?

I frequently have to kill an app (GPS Drive) in order to get it to work properly alongside another app (HiDef Radio). Reason being: When I use the two apps at the same time, the HiDef Radio frequently renders the live voice guidance on GPS Drive inoperable. A customer support representative for GPS Drive advised me to kill GPS Drive, using the recently used apps bar, and re-open it when this happens. (The representative also said that they just submitted a new version of GPS Drive to Apple, which should hopefully fix this problem, but in the meantime, I'm stuck not being able to listen to the radio and use live voice guidance at the same time.)
To kill GPS Drive, I followed the instructions in the iPhone 4.1 manual:
"Remove an app from the recents list: Touch and hold the app icon until it begins to jiggle, then tap [the red minus]."
The manual then states, "The app is added to recent apps again the next time you open it."
Problem is, contrary to what the manual says, GPS Drive is not added to recent apps again the next time I open it. And since it's not added back to the recent apps bar, I can't kill it next time I have this conflict with HiDef Radio. So the problem remains.
Is this—the fact that the app is not added to recent apps again the next time I open it—some sort of bug? (And, if so, is the bug Apple's, or GPS Drive's?) Or am I missing something? (And, if so, how do I make the app re-appear in the recently used apps bar after removing it from said bar?)
If anyone is wondering how I know that removing an app from the recently used apps bar kills it, see this, from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4211 :

I just discovered the answer to my question. Apparently, when you're in an app, that app does not appear in the recently used apps bar. This is logical in one sense: You can't switch to an app that you're already in. However, in another sense, it is illogical: In most operating systems, when you want to kill an app, you can kill the app without exiting the app (which is necessary in cases in which a freeze prevents you from exiting the app) by using a keystroke or directly entering a task manager. Given that the recently used apps bar serves two purposes—fast app switching and killing problematic apps—what makes sense for one purpose doesn't make sense for the other purpose. Anyway, the moral of the story is this: If you want to kill an app using iOS 4, you have to exit it first. Problem solved.

How do I hide the "preview panel" in Mail. Double clicking the "separator bar" hasn't worked ( I think I know where that bar is.)

How can I hide the "preview panel" in Mail? Double clicking on the "separator bar" , as directed by Mail Help, does nothing. ( I am not certain where that bar is, but believe it to be the zone where the preview panel and the message space meet.) This issue only arose after I upgraded to Mavericks.

The only way I found to hide the "preview panel" is to drag the separator to the edge of the window. It shrinks the panel down to perhaps 1/2 inch in height and then disappears only when you drag it to the bottom (classic layout) or perhaps a couple inches wide (in the new layout). It is also annoying to me that you can double click to open the preview panel but you cannot repeat that to hide it. [sigh]
I submitted feedback about the help file as well - you may want to do the same. I could not find the double click mentioned in the new "Mail Help" - I know it was in the old version.

I had this problem and finally figured it out. Try going to View, and then Show Toolbar. I hope this helps everyone...
EDIT: I didn't read your question carefully enough. Sorry. My problem was that the toolbar wasn't showing up at all.

The Code Capture Tool also includes an example of this in its source code (the preview of the capture can be panned), which also demonstrates one way of handling only some of the mouse move events (which is important, because usually there are too many events and you want to discard some of them).

Navigation using app bar command

Hey
I have two html page one is page1.html and other is page2.html and i want to navigate
page2.html from page1.html using app bar command so
When i am using WinJS.Navigation.navigate("/pages/categories/page2.html").done;
It's working but app bar of page2.html is not showing.
but when i am using <a href="/pages/categories/page2.html"> it's showing.

Hi Deepak,
Do you have a special app bar in your page2 or the app bar is shared for the app?
Take a look at the tutorial:
Quickstart: Using single-page navigation, if you can make a model like this, you can navigate to the page2 without setting any app bar.
