You probably want an Android or iPhone for use with the Skype mobile apps.  Phones with the Symbian operating system - mostly Nokia phones - can also use a Skype app, but lacks some of the features available in the Android or iPhone versions.  If you are able to confine your use to Skype to WiFi, not having 3G or 4G/LTE on your mobile phone is probably not an issue.
I have a Nokia N8 mobile phone, which uses the Symbian operating system.  Nice phone, compatible with GSM/UMTS networks around the world.  The Skype app for it is not great, but works on WiFi or 3G data networks.  What I ended up doing was also purchasing an iPod Touch, which is compatible with apps for the iPhone, and a WiFI hotspot app for my N8.  Then I use Skype on the iPod, connecting to the Internet through the N8's hotspot app via WiFi.  It takes two devices in this case to use Skype, but I'm making use of the better Skype app on the iPod over the N8.  Or I can just use the iPod if I have access to WiFi wherever I happen to be.
Hope that helps!

Sounds like your iPhone was unofficially unlocked by hacking it. You need to call AppleCare, tell them you only want to know which cell carrier your iPhone is locked to and give them the model and serial number. Then contact that cell carrier and see what their official unlock policy is and if you qualify.

  • [HELP] I use Skype from two computers and i notice...

Sorry for reposting this topic, but it didn't appear on the forum.
    Hey there.
I use skype from two computers.
Last week i blocked a contanct from computer1 and yesterday i unblocked it from the same computer.
So i noticed that after i unblocked this contact, it still appears at my homepage with his picture, info and everything, BUT only from computer1.
When i use computer2, this contact appears at my contacts, but only with his skype name (the one he uses to log in) and not with his display name. Also, i can't see his picture or any other information. It just appears offline, with his log-in name and with no picture. That's all.
So what's going on? Why can i see everything normally from computer1 but not from computer2?
P.S.1 99% he blocked me too, but i have no idea whether he unblocked me or not.
P.S.2 I know my english is horrible, sorry for that.

  • Why won't my Razr Maxx ring when called from my home phone or the other cell phone (I-phone) on my Verizon account?

Why won't my Razr Maxx ring when called from my home phone or the other cell phone (I-phone) on my Verizon account?

    Hi Ruth:
Thanks for reaching out to me about this issue.
This has been happening since I got the phone a couple of years ago.
I did not realize that my home land line and my wife's cell phone
always go straight to voice mail until my wife pointed it out to me
several months ago.  Is there a setting I can adjust?
Yes, I can make calls to our home land line and to her cell phone
without being diverted to voice mail.
Any advice you might have would be most welcome.
    Thanks.

It may because you have iCloud and On your Mac views set up.

    1.  Open Contacts

  • Can a wireless printer be used to print from an android phone without internet connection?

I'm trying to print invoices at a trade show from my Android phone.  Are there any wireless printers that can do that without an internet connection?  Does ePrint only work with an internet connection?

To print from your Android phone, you would need the HP ePrint Home & Biz app available for free from the Google Play store.
As for printing without an internet connection, your options are somewhat limited.
First thing you would want to do is make sure that you have a printer that is compatible with the ePrint Home & Biz app. A list of supported printers can be found here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile/Cloud-Services-Supported-Printers-ePrint-Airpr...
You next step would be to get a wireless router. You don't necessarily need an internet connection, just a router broadcasting a wireless signal. After you have the printer set up, you would want to connect it wirelessly to the router. Then you would want to connect your Android device to the same router. This will put both the printer and phone on the same network.
As long as both devices are on the same network, the ePrint Home & Biz app will search the network for compatible printers and your printer should show up in the list, allowing you to use the app to send print jobs to it.
However if you want to use the actual ePrint service, you will have to have an active internet connection. The way ePrint works is that your printer is assigned an email address and when you send something to that email address, it prints off on your printer. If the printer does not have an active internet connection, it has no way of reaching the servers and the print jobs will not print off. You actually wouldn't even be able to set up ePrint without being on an active internet connection.
Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • No sync from pc to phone with pc suite

    Nokia N70
    firmware: 3.0546.2.3 from 18-11-05
    OS: WinXP SP2
    PC Suite: 6.80.22
Connection through cable (usb) or bleutooth
Just bought this phone and not able to sync my outlook (contacts, calendar, notes) with the phone. Connection seems to work, because items created on the phone are transferred to the pc.
I have always used Suite (other version) to sync between my old 6230 and the same pc without any problems. What could be wrong here?
    Settings I checked:
    * Sync configered both ways
    * Sync 12 month in past and future
    * !@)#$!)@&#^$)!@*&# I found out I used the wrong profile for sync with Outlook!!
Lol...during writing this I solved the problem!!!

Ok, thanks for that info. What we need to do is delete your partnerships and start from scratch. Your data will be fine during this. Make sure your device is disconnected. Then go to activesync-->File-->delete partnerships.(keep doing this till activesync says No Partnerships) If it asks you to delete the sync files folder say no.
On the device to go Start-->Programs-->Activesync-->Menu-->Options tap on the Windows PC and hit delete. Again keep doing this till it says "If you want to sync..." This might take a few min depending on how much data you have on the device.
Next I want you to sync your device. When it starts to setup the partnership uncheck everything in the list. And let it sync. Once done just like you did before with unchecking calendar. Tools-->options--> check contacts. Let it sync do the same for the rest, just one at a time.
If you need me to explain more on this let me know.

  • How can I use two different wireless home phone terminals, different locations, one at a time same phone number

I have two locations and want to have a wireless home phone at each location with the same home phone number. Only one terminal will be used at a time.

That's not what a cell phone is.
You are talking about some kind of a separate communication system.  Like a walkie talkie or something that works over broadcast.  IP phones may be able to do something like that but you would somehow have to register the system to a single cell phone number, which wont work without a SIM card.

  • Using Family Share or Home Share with Windows 8? If so, what is my best option and how do I set it up??

I would like to use either Family Share or home share. If I use a pc/laptop with Windows 8, will I be able to use these programs, or do I have to use an Apple device initially? I have an iTunes acct, that I share w/my daughter. However, I would like for us, to each have our own account, and yet share music when we want to.So,am I better off using Family Share or Home Share? We have a lot of music that we have bought together over the years, and I don't want either of us to lose out on those purchases. Yet, I also don't necessarily want all of the music that she  buys, and she doesn't want all the music that I buy. If either of these are an option, how do I go about setting it up? Thanks for the help!

i have 3 iphone with same apple id, is it possibele i can use whatsapp in all the three phone with same apple id

Whatsapp uses your mobile phone number, not your Apple ID. So you can use it on 3 phones, but each phone will be a different "person" on whatsapp's network.

  • Using LDAP from 10.5 Server with Joomla

Has anybody successfully used the LDAP from 10.5 server with Joomla?
Here is another post in Joomla's forums asking the same thing
    http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=473&t=260357

I've had some success with the LDAP integrated into Joomla 1.5. Although, Joomla currently appears to require an email address during validation. So, if you don't have email addresses in the OSX LDAP database, a user can not fully login even if the username and password is correct).
    Here are my sanitized settings
    Host: hostname.domain.tld , e.g. [email protected]
    Port: 389
    LDAPV3: yes
    Negotiate TLS: no
    Follow Referrals: no
Authorization Method : "Bind and Search"
BaseDN: cn=users,dc=hostname,dc=domain,dc=tld , e.g. dc=myserver,dc=mydomain, tld=com or whatever OD LDAP is set for.
Search String : uid=[search] // I do not know if this is valid.
    UserDN: uid=[username],dc=hostname,dc=domain,dc=tld
    Connect username:
    Connect password:
    Map full name: cn
    Map email : email
    Map userid : uidnumber
When you enable the module, you should see an OD LDAP log entry
    Something like
    May 29 2008 19:04:33 USER: {0x4230826a3fffffff0000000f0000000a, username} is the current user.
    May 29 2008 19:04:33 AUTH2: {0x4135826cffffffff0000000a0000000a, username} CRAM-MD5 authentication succeeded.
    May 29 2008 19:24:11 RSAVALIDATE: success.
If you don't get any log messages, LDAP has rejected the query outright.
