Using Skype To Go for conference numbers

I used my Skype to Go number successfully from abroad to dial into a US conference bridge, but when the conf bridge prompts me for my passcode, it doesn't recognize my inputs. I thought it was a problem with my phone, but it was the same when I tried it from my mobile phone. Is it possible that Skype to Go doesn't allow additional input after the initial call is connected?

I was wondering whether I can buy an unlimited world subscription and use it with a Skype to Go number without having to add credit?
Hello,
The Unlimited World Plan will work with your STG set up so your calls within your Plan will be free. Depending upon your cellphone Plan you may need a little credit to acess your STG # or it may be free.

Do you see a mostly black screen with four languages? If so, that's a kernel panic. Usually, it's hardware related, but can also be caused by corrupt software (the OS itself or third party items).

  • Use Skype on Mac for messages and desktop for call...

    Hi,
I'd like to know how to set up my Skype kit.
I have Skype on my iMac, I use it to send and receive messages.
I have a Skype phone that I would like to use to make and receive calls.
I use both regular skype calls and paid calls (I have a Premium account and Skype Number).
Right now I think the Mac prioritize the calls I receive. I would like the Skype phone to be the priority for receiving calls, is that possible? How both systems, ON at the same time, does interact?
    Thank you!

Im not sure what user agent is, but are you referring to emulating IE in another browser such as Safari or Chrome?
The "user agent" (for browsers) is how the receiver determines the senders browser.  It is easily faked to make the receiver "happy".  The only problems I can think of is that now the receiver might be using some flavor of HTML that the sender's browser cannot fully handle resulting in possible display or other problems.

  • Using Skype As LiveChat For Website

Has anyone thought about or integrated Skypechat into their website as a livechat feature to talk and resolve customer issues? I want to use it for my website TheLuckey but don't know where to start!
    Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
You can't embed Skype functionality directly into a website. You can embed Skype buttons to easily start a chat or call though. Here's how: http://www.skype.com/en/features/skype-buttons/create-skype-buttons/

  • Travel to Japan and use Skype to call AT&T calling...

    Hi,
I'm going on a business trip to Travel later this year and I'm looking for a best way to make some personal business calls during that time. My company already provides me AT&T Calling Card for daily business operation while I'm in my home country(now) and I can later reimburse the fee. Since I will stay in Japan for just a month, apply for a mobile/landline number there seems not practical to me. I just checked AT&T website and know my calling card should be available in Japan but I'm wondering if I can use Skype to call these Japan numbers? I took it a try here(outside of Japan) to call AT&T Japan calling card number but it got disconnect with 0 sec duration. I know it may because I don't have any Skype Credit balance but I don't want to risk my money to buy it and then find it's impossible to call in this way. Any idea?
In short: Can I call AT&T calling card Japan access number by Skype?

    Hello,
As far as Skype is concerned the answer is "yes". You can call virtually any # worldwide with Skype Credit.

  • Parentheses for negative numbers in Excel 2011

I couldn't find an appropriate section for this question.  Please forgive me if I posted it in the wrong place.
I've been using Excel for Mac 2011 since it came out. Up until I updated to Yosemite, formatting negative numbers with parentheses appeared in the drop down menu, i.e., right click to get format cells, click "number" tab on top, click "number" on left. There is a dialog as to how you want negative numbers formatted. Parentheses used to be an option but no more. I attached a screen shot. Help!

Same issue here with Excel 2011, problem started with the Yosemite installation and was not fixed with 10.10.1 nor the latest Microsoft update.
It's a big problem for accountants!
On the Microsoft forum this gentleman replied with a workaround but it's a hassle to have to do this for each new spreadsheet.
JonathanBuhacoff replied on November 9, 2014
If you go to the dialog shown in Phillip's post and select "Custom" on the left side, you can enter this to get the parenthesis back:
    $#,##0;[Red](-$#,##0)
Or this to use square brackets:
    $#,##0;[Red]"["-$#,##0"]"
The format means  use $#,##0 for positive numbers and use [-$#,##0] in red for negative numbers.
You could remove the hyphen too and just do this:
    $#,##0;[Red]"["$#,##0"]"
I hope Apple takes note and pushes a fix for us.

    Hello,
You must always prefix your dial string with the international country access code (+1 for USA, +44 for UK etc.).

  • How to set up Touch to use Skype for phone calls?

I use Skype with my iMac for making phone calls and would like to do the same with my new iPod Touch. I've looked in the Touch User's Guide but have not been able to find a procedure for setting up the Touch to accomplish this. I would appreciate feedback on how to do this from those who are successfully using Skype with their Touch units. One thing I am curious about is whether I can sync my Touch with the Skype program--including phone numbers-- already present on my iMac.

Yes and no... you will have two versions of Skype on your computer, but one will only be appearing in iTunes and your iPod since they are two different app.
You can still have both Skype application open and loged into your account at the same with no problem. There is no special setup to do on your iPod more than login into your account and having credits into your account, exactly as you probably done with Skype on your computer.

  • About using Skype for Business

We are planning for IM & Video Conference solution for our company.
The number of users will be about 40, among three sites (One in HK and two in China).
The main function to us is Instant Message, Audio chat or conference, Video chat or conference.
If we use Skype as our solution, how should be plan to purchase?
Is that we only need pay for Skype Manager and then we can enjoy Group Video Chat for everyone?
    Best Regards,
    Ivan

Skype manager itself is free. The Group Video chat is not free.
Skype is really quite good, but do not depend on it as your primary method of business communication. I suggest you look at google business apps it may meet your requirement for a low cost. Look at their "hangouts" product - it allows up to 8 or so people to group conference. It is a lot lot better with collaborative document sharing.

  • If I'm in Europe, can I use Skype on Droid Charge(via Wi-Fi) to call US phone numbers?

If I'm in Europe, can I use Skype on Droid Charge(via Wi-Fi) to call US phone numbers?
Obviously there's no voice or data roaming for Verizon 3G/4G/CDMA phones in Europe.... (or am I wrong?)
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello WCMack,
That was a great explanation on the situation. Just to confirm, Europe uses GSM for their wireless network. There are third party apps that will allow you to make calls via wi-fi on a wi-fi enabled device. This is largely due if wi-fi is available and if it's free.
From my experience, I was able to make wi-fi calls on my Iphone 4 in Greece without any problems last month. Since we don't own any towers in Europe, the service is hit or miss. Feel free to update us when you get back.
    Enjoy your trip!...

  • HI I have an Iphone 3GS and the microphone jack works when I play music but not when making phone calls.   please help as I use it for conference calls

Hi   I use my phone for conference calls and use the microphone jack to connect to speakers.      It doesnt work when making phone calls but when i play music on the phone the jack works with the external speaker.

Happy to have been of help. Hope all goes smoothly.
BTW, for the sake of others who may help you here, it's usually most polite if you mark the post that answered your question as being the one that "solves" it, not your own post. That's how people get points here, if a questioner marks their post as either "helpful" or "solving". It's not an issue for me, but for those just starting out in the forums it may be important to them. See:

  • Use Skype for a business. What is the best way to ...

We have a new business that is starting and a lot of the work will be done by people in different parts of the United States. We would like to have incoming calls be to 1 number, and have them be able to select whom or which department they need. If a calling tree is not available not a big problem.
We also would like to have control of the skype account so it can be assigned, and if then reassigned based on personnel change. We are unsure of how you control this or if it can be controlled. We are assuming that would could simply change a password and then someone new could use it. We know that on a personal account the user would be able to take control as they can see the account info and change the primary email and reset the password. Unable to find anything out about a business account.
We would like to set up each account on a subcription, that has a number and unlimited calling in the US and voicemail.
Would love to be able to talk to any business person that has used skype on a business level so we know what it can do well, and what it can't do at all.
    Thank You,
    Kevin

If you have an SSD you can run the cache and programs on the same drive.  However, many recommend a scratch disk size of 100-200 gigs so that will not work here unless you opt for a larger SSD.  Otherwise an internal spinner is recommended that does not contain the program files, or idealy any other files that may want to get acessed at same time (only one read/write head per drive).
With 32 gig of RAM you may not need the constant use of the scratch drive unless working on large images with lots of layers.  So see no advantage to moving folder to SSD for temp work environment.
From what I read the new crop of SSD do not have the wear problems of the older versions.

Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:
Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected (or the device was never connected to a computer) you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device, iTunes still asks for a password)
If recovery does not work there's:
