Using Solution Manager 7.0 to Generate Solution Key for SAP Netweaver 7.3 ?

Hi, SDN Gurus.
We are running Solution Manager 7.0.
I am trying to generate solution key for SAP Netweaver 7.3 system. When I was creating a new system (in TCode SMSY);  I only see Newtweaver 7.1 is the latest version available in the SAP Netweaver  product version drop down list.
Is that true that I always need to upgrade the latest/compatible version (SP & patches) of SAP Solution Manager to generate solution key for the latest released of SAP products?
If this is the case, what version of SAP Solution Manager I need to create new system and generate solution key for SAP Netweaver 7.3?
Thanks for advices,
KC

  • How to generate xml-file for SAP Fiori (UI add-on) with Solution Manager 7.0.1?

    Hello Guru,
could you please help with my issue with Fiori Installation.
We want to install SAP Fiori Front-End (GW+UI) on the Sandbox system with SAP Netweaver 7.3.1. (SP14)
Gateway component (SAP GW CORE 200 SP10) was installed without any problems.
But I need to install UI-add-on (NW UI Extensions v1.0) and when I try to install it via SAINT, transaction said me that I need to generate xml-file for it (as in General notes for UI add-on mentioned).
But I have Solution Manager 7.0.1 and in MOPZ for this version I do not have option  "install Add-on" as it written in Guide for ui add-on installation.
Could you please help me with advice how to generate xml-file for UI add-on installation on SolMan v.7.0.1?
If where is no way, but only to upgrade Solution Manager, maybe somebody could give me xml-file for your system (for NW 731) and I will change it to my needs, I will be very grateful!
Thanks in advance for any help!!!

  • Solution Manager can't generate  installation key  for Netweaver 2004s

I am trying to generate installation key for a new installation of
Netweaver 2004s or 7.0 and the Solution Manager only display SAP ECC
5.0 or 6.0 in the field production version, when i am trying do create
a new system landscape. My Solution Manager is 4.0 release and support
package 10. The keys generated by ECC 5.0 or 6.0 doesn't work.

That is because SAP has not released an ECC 7.0
NW2004s is also refered to as 7.0.  It appears that you are confusing this with ECC 5.0 and ECC 6.0
A NW2004s installation can contain an ECC5.0 or ECC 6.0, just like it can contain a CRM 5.0 or SRM, or EP, et cetera
The generated keys probably do not work because you have wrong hostname or instance number entered.

  • Exact Steps to Generate Installation keys for other systems In SolMgr4.0

    Hi friends,
Please provide me exact Steps to Generate Installation keys for other systems In SolMgr 4.0 SR1.
I have steps to make this thing in solmgr 3.2 as please change as it in solmgr4.0 sr1
    txn SMSY
    Expand Landscape components -> Systems
Right click on Systems  ->New System
    Type SAPID, & Installation No. (S44 , 0040099252) & sAVE
    Expand Newly Added system
    Right Click & Create
Now we can use the key provided by the system.
Please make required changes as applicable in solmgr4.0 So that I can proceed.
Also clear vat is the difference between ECC & ERP as solmgr4.0 mention both as two systems.
    Thanks & regards

    Cheers 'N' Joyce

    Hi Jaswant,
to generate a Solution Manager Key you can process a little bit easier.
Call transaction SMSY, press shift+F5 (you get the "other objects" popup).
As System enter the SID of your Solution Manager.
    ->select gen.Installation/Upgrade Key (shiftctrlF10))
then you get a new popup. In this popup you DELETE all values, enter SID of the new system, the message server of the new system and the system number of the new system. Then press generate key.
With this procedure you do not have to add the system to SMSY to generate the key.
Later you should add it to SMSY, maybe you have added an SLD to SMSY then the system will be added automatically. If not you have to add it manually.
    Second question ERP <> ECC
Good question, ECC is part (a main instance) of ERP, so it is up to you if you classify your system as an ERP or ECC.

  • Solution Manager 4.0 install error logging in for DDIC step 29

Has anyone else seen the error 'Test logon to SAP System <sid> failed"? It states that it cannot login for DDIC. This is at step 29 during the install of the solution manager 4.0.
    We are running on a Windows 2003 Server/Oracle 10g.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We've been hitting this same error for the last couple of days.
    Thanks,
    DBB

    Dear Derrick,
I have run into the exact same problem!!!!
During step 29 of the install does it ask you to enter the DDIC password?
It will ask you twice for a password if both the times the login fails then you will have no other option but to uninstall and reinstall Sol Man 4.
The tactic that worked for me is that when it will ask u the passowrd the first time.......before you enter the password.......login in to Sol Man 4 using the default DDIC password 19920706. then change the default password. And then go back to the install and give this new ddic password.
This is the only thing that worked with me.
Let me know if anything else works.
Email me @ [email protected] if you have any other questions.
    thanks

  • Solution Manager - Logical Component for SAP Netweaver EHP2

    Hello,
I installed the newest SAP Netweaver Ehp2 (with usage type AS ABAP only) for a future integrating with BI_CONT (SAP BI requirement). So... what I want to know is... I want to do an update of support packages to the latest Stack (SPS) and in this product version (NW EHP2) the latest stack is stack 06 !! But I ´m facing with a problem which is, because I have to maintain this system in Solution Manager (for Maintenance Optimizer activity)...so what I want is configure this new system on Solution Manager Ehp1 (with SPS 23) but in tcode SMSY I didn´t found this Product in Logical Components for I can apply this system to my Solution... I only see SAP Netweaver with EHP1 and not with EHP2 which is the version that I want to apply this new system. (This is mandatory task, because without it, I will not be able to download the support packages for NW 7.0 EHP2)
Tell me two things... first if this level version of Solution Manager that I have here (SPS 23) have this product in logical components, and two... if not it, is necessary to raise the level of Solution Manager support packages (to latest stack SPS 25) for I can see that logical component SAP Netweaver EHP2?!
    Thank you very much
    João Dimas - Portugal

    Hi João,
You can verify if the EHP2 is available (if) in your system, this can be done once you are in SMSY -> Product Definitions -> SAP Netweaver where you should able to see the EHP2. If so, then it's a matter of marking the leading Product & Product Version under the Header Data ->Change Product Assignment where you can use the drop down arrow to select the Product and Product Version. If it's not available, then by checking the 'Free Product / Select Product Version' then use the drop down arrow to select the product & Product Version, once you selected that then click on copy and mark that as active and save.
Then you need to create a new logical component in System Group & logical Component under SAP Netweaver, then assign the system to the logical component. Once this is done you can use the logical component in a solution and create a maintenance transaction.
I hope this help you to proceed further, thanks.

  • Link one solution manager word document into another solution manager HTML

    Hi,
I have requirement in solution manager that there are two documents uploaded into solution manager.
    1. One word document in one of the project folder
    2. HTML page in another folder of same project
I have to set up a hyper link of word document in the HTML web page.
If anyone has gone through this type of requirement, please let me know the details of how did you set up the link between word and HTML document.
    Appreciate the early response.
    Thanks,
    Siva

Go to the properties of the file you want to link your word document to. (attributes icon)
There you will find a button "Generate Document URL (F9)". Clicking this button will buffer the URL into clipboard.
Then you open your Word document in edit mode and paste the URL there.

  • Solution Manager 7.1 Cannot Create Solution (No Business Partner)

    Hello everybody,
I would like to ask your help about some issue in our Solution Manager (7.1 SP 10 VAR Scenario).
We need to create solutions but when we go Solution Manager Administration Workspace and we click on create we are prompted to select Business Partner, a field which gives no selection options (empty).
Has anybody here faced the same problem? Can you please provide some information how to tackle this or some kind of documentaion/link?
    Kind Regards

    Hi Lluis Salvador Suarez,
Thank you for your answer and explanation.
When I check in SE11, I see that SMSY_SHLP_BP_SPC_FOR_USER does not exist.
    SMSY_BP_SPC_FOR_USER_OBJ_MAINT is active.
Do you have any idea about this?
Also, in SOLMAN_DIRECTORY I am not able to select any customer.
If you think this is about authorizations do you have some idea what it might be? I checked and it does not appear to have any problem with that in fact. I do not get any authorization failure.
    Many thanks

  • Generating crypto keys for SSH support

    Hi,
I'm having no problems getting SSH to work using the CLI crypto key command but I've noticed one thing. The crypto key command does not show up in the config...is it hidden somehow? The reason I ask is when I take an AP(1121 in this case) right out of the box and copy an existing config into it (where this config had the RSA keys already config'd)....it works with SSH? How do the keys get generated on this new AP when there is no crypto key command in the config I just loaded into it?
    .....thanks.........J

you need to use a K9 image that supports crypto features
For ssh dont copy and paste the config.

  • Use of end-date as part of Primary key in SAP Tables

    All,
Any ideas on the rationale behind SAPs use of end-date as part of Primary key in general, specifically on condition Tables(A9xx for example) instead of Start-date? appreciate any help!!
    Best Regards
    TRP

Hmm, another example is CSKS, this logic was probably designed already in the 1980s...maybe it was seen beneficial to be able to select the currently valid record by using the primary key only (the first record where DATBI is larger than system date, not possible when DATAB is the key instead).
Maybe there are better explanations. Why do you need to know this, just curious?

  • Ver 7.4 / Do we use the management I.P or Redundant I.P for LWAP?

    I have a general question.
I've x-out some numbers for privacy reason.
On 7.3/7.4, I believe they share the same management I.P when SSO is enabled.
With that said, do the AP use that for the WLC or do they point to the Redundant Management I.P and use the Peer Management I.P as their secondary WLC?
Or should their only be one entry on the AP that points to the management I.P?
    Hope that makes sense.
For example, our management is X.X.117.4 and our redundant is .5 and peer redundant is .9
How would the AP be setup in this case?
    Thanks
    (Cisco Controller) >show redundancy summary
    Redundancy Mode = SSO ENABLED
         Local State = ACTIVE
          Peer State = STANDBY HOT
                Unit = Primary
             Unit ID = XXXXXXXX
    Redundancy State = AP SSO
        Mobility MAC = XXXXXXXX
Average Redundancy Peer    Reachability Latency = 526 usecs
Average Management Gateway Reachability Latency = 5916 usecs
    Redundancy Management IP Address................. X.X.117.5
Peer Redundancy Management IP Address............ X.X.117.9
    Redundancy Port IP Address....................... 169.254.117.5
Peer Redundancy Port IP Address.................. 169.254.117.9
Peer Service Port IP Address..................... 0.0.0.0

With AP SSO, you only need the management address of the WLC configured on the AP.  If the primary fails, the secondary takes up that address.
Think of it like HSRP, you use the standby address for your gw, not the individual one for the switch.

  • How to Generate a key (for SecretKeySpec) out of a string literal.

    Hi,
I have a string literal representation of a HEX value key which I use to send encrypted data from C++ to Java (on Sockets).
I haven't managed to convert the string representation to a value that I can use with SecretKeySpec() constructor to create a working AES 128b key.
    The last attempt was this:
    String strKey = new String("E5E6E7E9EA392A2B2D256489012145E5");
    byte[] byteKey = new BigInteger(strKey,16).toByteArray();
SecretKey skey = new SecretKeySpec(byteKey, "AES");It didn't work because the byte array was of size 17 byte. (java.security.InvalidKeyException: Invalid AES key length: 17 bytes)
Is there an obvious straight forward way to this which I'm missing? (How would you transfer a key in HEX representation?)
    Thank you.

Because of the way negative BigIntegers are represented, when the high-order bit of the high-order byte of a positive BigInteger is 1, the toByteArray() emits an "extra" high order byte of zero hence your length of 17. Another problem is that, if your Hex string happens to begin "00X..." where X is less than 8, then toByteArray() will not emit the superflous leading zero byte and the size will be 15 or less.
    java.math.BigInteger b = new java.math.BigInteger("ECBA1127878", 16);
    byte [] keyBytes = new byte[16];
    byte [] bigBytes = b.toByteArray();
    System.arraycopy(bigBytes, 0, keyBytes, 0, Math.min(keyBytes.length, bigBytes.length));as an example is only a 4 lines of code.

  • Why Solution Manager is needed?

    Hello
I just want to know why Solution Manager is needed? especially for SAP BI project

    Hi,
First, Solution Manager is absolutely necessary to generate installation key for SAP product (i.e.ECC). Second, the new level of SP (released after Feb)  needs approval from saposs before downloading from ur download basket, so you always have to ask them to approve ur request. Using Solman, u can download the package automatically.
The rest is, Solman offers many functionality to manage your systems easily by making it centralized, such as change / transport management, monitoring, document repository, configuration, and many more...

  • In Solution Manager, where can I find the SRM 7.0 Configuration Guide?

Please give me directions on how to download the SRM 7.0 configuration guide within Solution Manager, these documents are not available on the service marketplace.  We have sol manager 4 I believe, it's not sol manger 7.0.
Also, if you could send me the guide at matt.joseph at thq.com that would save me from losing more time trying to figure out Solution Manger
    Thanks for your help.
    Matt

    Matt,
    1. Log on to your SAP Solution Manager system.
    2. To be able to access configuration documentation, create a project as follows:
    1. Create your project with transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN for project administration.
    2. Connect your SAP system to SAP Solution Manager with transaction SMSY for the SAP Solution Manager system landscape.
    3. Create a project structure and add the required scenarios for your SAP system to your project structure with the Business Blueprint transaction SOLAR01,
    4. Add your SAP system configuration structures to your project structure with the configuration transaction SOLAR02.
    3. Go to the project structure folder <project name> using transaction SOLAR02.
    4. Access configuration documentation for SAP NetWeaver usage types at Configuration StructureSAP NetWeaver 7.0.
    5. Access configuration documentation for all areas of SAP SRM at Configuration StructureSAP SRM <release>.
