Using songs with Windows Movie Maker

How do you use purchased songs in Windows Movie Maker? Please help.

One caveat to the above posts: if any tracks you've purchased, or intend to purchase, are/were iTunes Plus, those do not have copy protection and so can be converted to MP3 which, I presume, Movie Maker can handle.
Note that tracks purchased from the iTunes Store are for your own personal use. You cannot create a movie with them and then give that movie to others, post it on a web site, etc. Similar restrictions are in place on all download music stores.

  • Using itunes with windows movie maker

windows movie maker doesn't recognize the type of files I downloaded from i-tunes. I tried to convert the files to wav with audacity, but audacity wouldn't recognize it either.

This is because iTunes Store purchases and in a protected file format, so you won't be able to directly convert them from the protected file into something that Windows movie maker could read.
As the previous poster said, you can try burning the files to a CD, then importing the CD again. I think that ought to work.

Sorry purchased content is only playable in iTunes and cannot be used with other programs. You are allowed to burn purchased content onto an audio CD, but thats about it.

  • Use iTunes songs w/ Windows Movie Maker?

Is there anyway to make it so i can use my iTunes songs with my windows movie maker? I have some songs on there i want to use for background music. If there is anyway please tell me.
    Thanks,
    ~Jordon~

*I paid for the song and should be able to do whatever I want with it.*
They protect it because it is not yours to do with whatever you want, just as a CD is not yours to do with whatever you want.
A copyright allows you to do certain things but it also does not allow you to do certain things such as selling it or relabel it and call it yours.

  • IPod Nano Video with Windows Movie Maker

I found this page by Apple that explains how to use video from the 5G iPod Nano, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3837
But, I cannot find Windows Movie Maker V2.5, and V2.1 with Windows XP will not import the video from the iPod Nano. Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this? (Besides buying a Mac...)
Also, Windows Media Player 11 will not play the video created with the 5G iPod Nano either.

You can use the AVS Video Editing software to import MPEG-4 Movie files in the same way you'd import .avi files into Windows Movie Maker. Also, the AVS Video Editor will allow you to import iTunes .mp4 audio files and incorporate them into your soundtrack. If you still want to use Windows Movie Maker for your video editing you can also use video conversion software from the same company, i.e. AVS Video Converter 6, to convert from MPEG-4 into .avi or .wmv format. I've found converting to .wmv to be considerably slower than converting to .avi though. Here's a link to the AVS video software offerings below. BTW, the AVS Video Editor can be used for free, while there's a charge for the Converter.
    * As always, exercise caution when using Shareware. So far my own experience has been good.

  • How do I make itunes purchased music compatible with Windows Movie Maker?

Windows Movie Maker will not accept the itunes format and I cannot find a way to convert the files. I need to convert the format to any of the following accepted formats: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma
    Please Help!

If your iTunes Music Store purchases are 128kpbs protected (with digital rights management) AAC files, they cannot be directly converted to other formats. If the files are 256kbps unprotected iTunes Plus AAC files, you can convert them as desired for your personal use.

  • Compatibility with windows movie maker

I purchased a song but it is not in the correct format for windows movie maker. What can I do?

Where'd you purchase the song from? iTunes Music Store?
If so, then you're out of luch unless you choose to break the law. It would be illegal to remove the DRM from an iTunes Music Store purchased track, which would be necessary to put the track ina new format compatible with Microsoft products.

  • HOW TO CAPTURE DIGITAL VIDEO CLIPS, OPTIONALY WITH WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER

I want to capture video clips and save them on disk, when a certain event occurs. If possible I prefer to do it with labview only. Optionaly to execute a record command on windows movie maker, save with arbitrary file name, and go back to standby mode for the next clip.

Do you have a camera along with the IMAQ hardware? Then, the easiest way is probably using the IMAQ VIs to acquire frames and create avi files out of them. There is some example code on how to grab images using the imaq hardware.

Generating the avi files is fairly straightforward once you know how to acquire images. Lookup the help on the "IMAQ AVI" VIs.
If you have a camera hooked up through USB, you can try the documentation on the following link. I have never used labview with usb cameras though.

  • Importing Songs to Windows Movie Maker

I am trying to use some of my iTunes songs on a photo dvd/movie I'm making for a friend in Windows Movie Maker. I have tried burning an audio cd, a data cd, and an mp3 cd. iTunes will not let me burn the mp3 cd, and Windows Movie Maker "doesn't support" the other formats.
Any ideas on how I can get my songs onto my photo cd?
Thanks in advance and happy holidays, Aileen

i'm having a problem too. i can't find where to go to post a new topic this site isn't great at having that stand out...but anyways i want to make a movie and i got all these great songs i got from itunes...but i can't use most of them. just recently i did some stuff and now i can access some that i got on this computer. on my last computer i bought songs off itunes but then it started to crash so i saved them to a huge memory drive and then reimported them to my new computer. • Importing song to windows movie maker

I am unable to import a purchased song into my windows movie maker.  Purchased many songs before. This is the first song that wouldn't download.  Please help.  Thx

Your downloaded music is in Apple's AAC(m4a) format and Windows Movie Maker does not accept this format.  You can convert it to mp3 in iTunes.
Itunes menu, EDIT/PREFERENCES, GENERAL tab.  Go in IMPORT SETTINGS, under IMPORT USING, you have various Encoder, AAC. AIFF, APPLE LOSSLESS, MP3 and WAV.  Select MP3 encoder, then OK and OK.
Right mouse click the song(s) in music library will give you a Menu which includes CREATE MP3 version.

  • How do I burn a DVD R disc with Windows Movie Maker?  It indicates disc error on my DVD player.  Someone thought it had something to do with Itunes?  I reloaded Itunes 1 month ago and had no problem creating this disc then.  Help

I have made several DVD+R discs in the past using Windows Live Movie Maker sucessfully.  I made one about one month ago for my son's b-day.  I am using the same discs as I had then.  When I tried to burn the disc, it indicates that it is burning, however, when I insert it into the DVD player at home on our TV (like I"ve always done), it indicates disc error.  Someone mentioned that the burner goes out every now and then when Itunes is uploaded?  When I burn the disc, I can pull it up on my home and work computers, so I know that it is there.

Yes, you can distribute a burned disk of the project to those who can create duplicate disks.  Or create a disk image of the iDVD project using the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.
Then you can distribute the disk image to those who will burn the disks.  For PCs you'll have to convert the .dmg file to a .iso file so they can burn it.  This website describer how: Mac Help - Convert and Burn Mac .dmg or .img to .iso Windows PC-Compatible Disk Image
Suggest to them to burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
It would be prudent to rest your optical drive for about 30 minutes after burning 3 disks in a row. That will give the laser time to cool down before you start another batch.

I am a windows 7 enterprise user working with Dell. My OS is an OEM/corporate image and I am unable to install movie maker and get an error code 0x80070643. I have tried multiple times to install and been unsuccessful. Please help me as this important tool

  • Adding iPod Songs to Windows Movie Maker

I want to add songs I have in my iPod for a video i'm making, but when I go to...
My Documents << My Music << iTunes << iTunes Music
And click on any artist and their song, the song is like in a m4p format. How do I fix it?

This has been covered here a number of times already, but once again:
Tracks purchased from any legal download store carrying major-label content, including the iTunes Store, are copy-protected and so cannot be directly converted to any other format. You can, however, burn the tracks purchased from the iTunes Store out to an audio CD, at which point it will act just like any other normal audio CD.
