Using Spaces and Different Wallpaper

I have Spaces set up so certain applications only appear in certain spaces, but I'm wondering if there's a way to have each space have its own wallpaper. Is this possible?

In CRM 5.2 web UI, we can save a transaction by saving attachments like work documents or text files.
Could someone help me find out the used space, free space, maximum capacity on the CRM DB for these attachments.

BUG? JDev 10.1.3.1.0 on MacBook Pro - problem using space and delete keys

Is anyone using JDev 10.1.3.1.0 production release on a Macbook Pro? I am experiencing problems using the delete and space keys. The delete key no longer seems to work at all when using any of the key bindings including Default MacOS X. Using the spacebar also seems to have a conflict with the code completion feature. I am finding that the code completion always pops up when the space bar is used and no space is inserted with the editor. The space bar only works when used in conjuction with the shift key. Can anyone verify if they are able to use these keys in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 on a Macbook Pro?

This was from the dmg file.
I found that in Preferences | Accelerators, Completion Insight lists 'Space' as an accelerator, right after 'CommandAIC'. Removing that fixed the problem, but I still can't fix the Delete issue.
The Delete action is assigned to the 'Delete' key, which is recognizes as the key combination fn-Delete. I tried to assign the Delete Previous Char to just the delete key, but pressing the Delete key while in the New Accelerator field is not recognized - it just pretends as if I had not pressed a key.
I'm looking at the the file:
jdevhome/system/oracle.jdeveloper.10.1.3.39.84/Default_macosx.kdf
trying to find entries for Delete and they are not in there - is there some other place I should be looking?

Xcode using wrong and different version of GCC for linking

I have had this problem with Xcode for several versions now. I am working on plain old C code, but I am using OpenMP. The code compiles just fine with gcc-4.2. If I set up a target to compile the code with OpenMP support and using version 4.2 of gcc, it again compiles just fine...until it gets to the link phase. It then suddenly decides to try linking with gcc-4.0 instead of 4.2. And therefore, it fails because it can't find any of the OpenMP libraries. Anybody else have this issue? Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing? I've got a nasty hack where I made gcc-4.0 a softlink to gcc-4.2. It works, but this is of course distasteful. A real solution would be nice.
Note, I have not tried creating a brand new project file..that's a lot of work as there are many files and targets involved. But I will try it if I have to.
Current version of Xcode is 3.1.3. Thanks again.

Not really, unless the answer is to build a whole new project file. I found this discussion earlier, but it didn't really provide any new information except the idea of creating a new project file. But like I said, if I have to do this, I will. But I don't want to go through the effort if there is a simpler solution...and without knowing for sure that it will even work.

Is there any reason not to use spaces in document file names anymore in a document library?

We are revamping our sharepoint document library file naming conventions. In lots of blogs and tutorials, I have seen over and over the recommendation to use underscores instead of spaces in document file names in sharepoint. Part of this is I think to prevent
the infamous %20 in URLs pointing to the documents. That doesn't really concern us and we don't generally have file names that approach 256 characters. We don't want to go the route of having different document names than document titles so we want our
document names to be a clear and readable as possible. We think that using spaces (and occasionally dashes) in the file names makes them more readable, and sharepoint 2010 seems to be able to search these file name correctly. An example document file
name would be "elephants - how to clean elephant cages".
Has anyone run into a reason to avoid using spaces and dashes in document file names in sharepoint 2010? I don't want to start using spaces and then be sorry I did down the road. Thanks!

It isn't going to lead to the fall of western civilisation.
You will get longer and messier URLs for documents but it's very unlikely to cause issues. There have been some bugs in the past where hyphens in particular can be mis-encoded in searches but they only affect a small range of build numbers if memory serves.
I much prefer using no spaces for document libraries as it makes the starting URLs so much cleaner but that's a style question. For documents unless you've got a very strict document naming standard spaces are common and dashes aren't uncommon.

Using swf and AS3 on supercomputer

I (might) have an opportunity to run my ActionScript 3 project on a Cray supercomputer in couple of weeks.
How can I be sure that I benefit of the multiple processors an big memory space?
And I need to understand how will I benefit?
Is window="gpu" embed tag all it takes, or should I use Alchemy and different ASC?
That gpu -tag is said to give benefits only in some occasions, would this be the occasion?
Maybe there is readymade versions of Flash-Player that will use multiprocessor?
Filesize is below 100kt, but...
My demo is huge fractal with graphics in several (hundreds) nodes, and it can be made even bigger...
I will also use real time generated sounds in background.
Mac mini is already having trouble with it, it would be interesting to see how supercomputer will manage.

It is therefore necessary to have naming conventions for object types and their components and to use them uniformly within program development.

Using Spaces

I'm trying to use spaces, and although I've set it up with apps in each window, it seems that the only way I can switch between windows is if I click on the app in the dock, then it goes to the window or if I click on the spaces icon in the top menu bar. I'm supposed to be able to switch between windows by hitting the arrow keys or number keys and although that is selected in the prefs, I can't seem to get that to work.

Invalid sizes for free/used space

Hi All
We have an ipod mini on an XP system. Worked for a few months without any real problems. Recently we upgraded the computer and have had all sorts of issues. The itunes and ipod software is current, we've got all the latest hardware drivers, and xp updates. The itunes and ipod updater both report about 114.5Gb (yes, Gbytes) of space. The updater says that we are current with v1.4 of the software and 114.5Gbyte Capacity. Go into itunes and it says that the library is 431 songs=1.55Gbyte but when I click on the ipod in itunes it says that we have zero songs and 45.92Gbyte used space and 65.87 free which is obviously crap as its a 4G mini. The ipod will not appear in the explorer even though its set to be used for data.
And I have set it up on my toshi notebook and it works fine, so it is not the ipod itself.
Anyone, please help. It has chewed up almost 10 hours of my day today and I cannot figure it out.

Samantha, is it possible you have network drives or an external drive attached to your computer? What you're seeing is a symptom of Windows confusing the iPod's drive with these other drives and therefore showing the incorrect capacities. The solution is to assign the iPod a drive letter that is far removed from those other drives.

'Miscellaneous Used Space'

Since I have the 64gb Macbook Air, disk space is precious to me.
Recently I have run into a problem, where whenever I delete a large file (over 1gb) Grandperspective sees it as Miscellaneous Used Space
Most of the things I delete are TV shows I download from itunes, drag them to my external HDD and delete them (always choosing 'delete file' from itunes)
I recently had it with a game I downloaded from the app store.
Before i used to make a backup, download the show, drag it to my external HDD and restore my computer from Time Machine, but that took too long.
When I 'get info' on my SSD there is 41.16gb free out of 59.81
But on Grandperspective, there is only 36.4gb free, 3gb miscellaneous used space and 16.2gb free space
How can I get rid of the miscellaneous used??
And stop is from appearing in the future??

My disk (1Tb) has about 150Gb of actual data on it.
Finder reporting 802 GB used. Various program, Whatsize, Grandperspective etc all reporting "650 Gb of Miscellaneous used Space. Used Cache Cleaner, no difference.
Been working on it for days, cannot find any rogue files to delete.
Apple support said "reinstall Snow Leopard" ... "make sure you have a back up"
The reason I don't have a back up is Time Machine (and another 3rd Party BU solution) wont work because it cant back up the HDD because it is too big!!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Used space -230MB ??

I have a tablespace splitted in several datafiles and one datafile is showing that i have -230MB Used space? The other data files were correctly displayed. At first I thought it was a bug of another software i used, but i was surprised to see the same thing on Enterprise Manager...Is this a bug? (Mind you i had only around 10MB of used space, and 10GB free on that datafile)

run
./nmupm filesystems
This data is what is passed back to OEM. See if there is an error there or not.
HPUX has been a bit buggy for OEM so do take a look for patches ..

Prevent iChat from yanking me out of one Space and into another

Using Spaces and working in a separate Space from where I have an open iChat window it's incredibly annoying that when I receive a chat message from someone iChat will immediately switch Spaces on me...even if I'm in the middle of typing or drawing in another space. Is there any way to turn this off?!? The red badge over iChat's icon is enough! I don't need to be yanked away from what I'm working on...

If you set iChat to Every Space it will show up no matter what space you're in, so it won't have to move you between spaces. The Chax plug-in lets you hide the buddy list automatically when iChat is in the background, so it won't get in your way (since it would always be there no matter what space).

Xfdesktop and compiz wallpaper plugin [UNSOLVED]

Im using Xfce with compiz wallpaper plugin. It would be nice if i could use xfdesktop and compiz wallpaper plugin in the same time, to see icons and menu on desktop. Anybody has any ideea how can i resolve this interesting situation?

same problem here: no background & severe tearing. Using nvidia driver. Compiz as standalone WM.
For test changed xinit to start ONLY compiz+emerald+xterm. Result: same problem.
When switch Crt-Alt-F2 and Ctr-Alt-F7 than suddenly all works perfect.
It used to work good until some months ago an update broke something. At that time i was to busy to investigate.
Now i created a completely new user on my system (to avoid messing with old config files) and start compiz: same problem.
Ok after a long long search on the internet finally found this on our very own archlinux forums:

decided to try install xorg-server from testing and i can confirm
xorg-server 1.9.3.901-1 = problem solved.
Note: until now never used anything from testing because i'm no good at solve problems.
Installing Arch and keep it running and sorting this particular problem is challenge enough for me.
