Hi ,
I need to create an iview which takes me directly to my mail account in hotmail . I tried doing it in the same way as it is done for the yahoo account given in HowToUseAppIntegrator_en.pdf , but it didn't work . In the browser IE it does not display the page at all giving an error "access denied" . I mozilla it though takes me the login page of hotmail but does not login . It asks for the password . I believe hotmail page is a .net page . Could someone please suggest me a solution ?

You need to install a httpmail plugin for the Mail.app which adds the httpmail protocol and account type to choose from when creating the account which can be downloaded here.

Am using firefox 5 and am not able of uploading any file as attachmenet using my Yahoo email account , this problem does not happen with hotmail account or when using IE.

when sending email through yahoo account , i cant upload any attachment with email, a sign of uploading lasts forever without uploading the file.
this issue do not happen with hotmail account or when using IE to browse Yahoo account.

Install ClamXav and run a scan with that. It should pick up any trojans.

(Actually, two people share a laptop, but one of us cannot use her AIM account cuz mine is in iChat already... And, when traveling, I have the computer - and I would like to use iChat on the computer...)

In iChat 4 you can have more than one AIM Valid name logged in at once.
AIM valid = AIM, @mac.com or a MobileMe name.
What you are then stuck with is that iChat is linked to one Buddy Picture and The one Mac User Account's Address Book which may or may not have Full Names, emails details, or a Nickname in iChat 4 linked to the Screen Names.
Whilst it does let you both log in whilst using one Mac User Account there are drawbacks about who uses the keyboard and reading meesages from the other persons Buddies.

Signing in with hotmail account Problem

i just got an Iphone 4
i have two main problems
The first is i cant add my email (Hotmail) account in the Mail.
whenever i enter the email and the password, it give me this message:
"The user name or Password for "pop3.live.com" is incorrect"
im 100% sure that both email and pass are correct.
Note: I cant add my hotmail account but when i tried to add the live account its works!!
the other problem is, i downloaded windows live messenger ..
when ever i log in with hotmail account it give me incorrect email or password message .. although im entering it correctly !!
Note: it work with the live when i tried to log in with it but not hotmail account

Try changing your password at hotmail. My problem may have been related to a password that was too long (14 chars I think), but after I changed it (11 chars, shorter, but secure) and tried again it worked.
I don't think length was the problem, maybe resetting it was the trick.

Mail has intermittent keychain password problems with Hotmail account

Most of the time Mail can access both my Me mail and Hotmail. However, since I moved from Tiger to Leopard Mail loses access to my Hotmail password and asks for it to be reentered to check for mail. If I don't do this I get the usual problem lightning bolt icon by mt Hotmail in-box in Mail. But when I click this and recheck for mail manually it works fine every time.
Is mail just not accessing my key-chain when it isn't the active application I'm running?

This is a common report with Hotmail accounts, but currently mine is staying connected. I think the prompt actually results from the checking the connection on the SMTP, rather than the Incoming Server, but not sure in every case. I have seen the problem in Mail 2.x, 3.x and 4.x. If it goes into a period of frequently giving the prompt, I change to exclude the account from auto checking for new mail, and then manually check for new messages.
That mine is currently working may be due to my changing the SMTP to that of my ISP rather than the one from Hotmail.

IIRC, Hotmail is like Yahoo's free email - you have to pay for POP access.
If you aren't paying for a premium version of HotMail, it won't work correctly with VersaMail.

Sending Calender Meeting Invites no longer working with Hotmail account

I think this started to fail when I upgraded to the new OS. When I create a new Calender appointment, it no longer shows up in my hotmail calender. If I invite attendees, all they get is a blank email, they no longer get a proper meeting request in their Outlook inbox.
However, if they send me a meeting invite, it is properly recognized on my blackberry.
As best I tried scouring the internet looking at various BB forums, I went into options and deleted my Hotmail email account on the phone. I set it up again and it does not fix the problem.
As far as I can tell, my hotmail account is a now typical account that has pop3 access.

EDIT: I removed the Hotmail account and added a GMail account. The GMail account workes totally fine with meeting invites. Also, after the creation of the GMail account, there is now a second inbox icon on my BB home screen. This icon is an envelope like the original one but also has a graphic of the world over-layed on top of it that resembles the Browser icon.
However.... my real problem remains... I need this to work with my Hotmail.com address.

Today I noticed that this same thing is happening to me, but with the GMail account... From the other four accounts works fine, but when the appointment is to Google Calendar, the "Atttedees" box dissapears!

Contact form Not working with Hotmail Accounts

Go to the following file public html - scripts - form process.php
You then need to edit the following: ( line 103 )

This needs changing to the following:

Since 1 st of july I'm unable to sent email with my hotmail account with my i phone.
Problems with smtp

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, if you don't have access to your current rescue address then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

Problems with hotmail account

I ser uo my hotmail account as soon as I bougth the table earlier this year. A few months ago it starting to show"cannot connect to server". I thought for a while it was problems with the wifi connection. I contacted sony chat and was I told that I had to change the incoming server to debug hotmail. I followed the directions but no luck I deleted my account to reset it and cannot connect it back. It tells me: ™couldnt open connection to server". Please help! Im travelling overseas in a couple of days and dont want to carry laptop. Just need my tablet to work! Will appreciate any advice, Thx!

Problem with hotmail account

I discovered that someone had hacked my hotmail account turning it into a spam-bot. I changed the password to my email account. When I updated the password for that account on both my iPad and iTouch, I got an error message saying that the username or password is incorrect.
I know that both are correct because I can sign in to my email account from my laptop. I've tried several times to add the account with the same result. Any thoughts as to what I am doing wrong?

Account Information Page:

on page advanced: port 995 check "use ssl"
then: edit the page smtp.live.com in the smtp server list:
advanced: use port 25, check "use SSL, Authentification password, type full hotmail address and password.

How do i set up a used iPad with iTunes account

Hi, my friend has recently bought a second hand iPad and has been having problems using it with her iTunes account. She has the latest version installed on her laptop but when the iPad is connected, a window opens to say it cannot be used because it requires iTunes 10.1 or later.
Is it possible to use a second hand device with an existing iTunes account and how do you get the latest version of iTunes on the iPad?
Any help would be appreciated.

Has she access to another computer with iTunes. If so, attach it to that briefly to see if she gets the same message. If she does not then the problem is iTunes on her own laptop. This can be resolved in two ways. If the iTunes update was recent then do a system restore on the laptop and then update iTunes again. (Be careful that such a restore has not ramifications as regards to new programmes installed in the interim.) Now try connecting again. The second option, as quoted earlier by Demo, is to forget about the system restore (on the laptop) and reinstall iTunes. The following should help - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925

Mail App no longer connecting with Hotmail accounts

I have had my hotmail accounts connected to my Mail app on my iMac for years, no problem. As of yesterday the Mail App wil no longer connect with any of my hotmail accounts. It is connecting with my gmail accounts.
The error message I get is: "UNable to receive Mail: There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “EKRDL” or try again. The server returned the error: The server “pop3.live.com” refused to allow a connection on port 995"
Hep anyone? What is happening here?
