Using Sun IDM with Firefox 3.0.3

We just upgraded to Firefox version 3.0.3. When I try to run a report in Sun IDM, I get the following error:
There was an error while retrieving task status.
This connection has timed out. Please login again.
It works properly in IE, and previous versions of Firefox.
Does anyone know of a fix for this, and has there been any other problems with Firefox 3.0.3?

This connection has timed out. Please login again.That error you're seeing is from the little java applet that runs when a report is generated. It's possible a new security restriction regarding applets is active in your browser.
You can still see the report by looking in Server Tasks -> All Tasks and viewing the result of the report task there.

I tried IDM 7.1 with vista home premium and doesnt seem to work. Curious to know if any body has success with vista

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Sun Idm with LDAP failover

Hi All,
Not sure if anyone encountered this issue.
I m using Sun Idm version 7.1 and sun one directory server 5.2 as corp ldap. I want to configure failover for ldap. I have setup master-master replication between ldaps. Now in idm on resource configuration page for ldap, I specified url of failover server. I brought down current ldap server and checked the connection. It shows successful because it picked failover one.
Now, after this stage I am not able to create/modify accounts on ldap (now running on failover) and its giving me the error "javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. [LDAP error code 32- No such object]"
Any suggestions, please provide.

Came across this issue myself (just now) and fixed it so thought I'd comment. I appreciate this post is quite old now but this might help anyone else who has this issue.
We are using IDM 8.1 and have 2 DSEE 6.3 instances - one master and one replica. In the help description for Failover Server on the LDAP resource configuration page it says:
"List all servers in the form of "ldap://ldap.example.com:389/o=LdapFailover" which follows the standard LDAP v3 URLs described in RFC 2255. Only the host, port, and dn parts of the URL are relevant in this setting."
We originally listed our second server as above and included the "/o=LdapFailover" bit on the end and we got the same error. We removed the "/o=LdapFailover" and just left "ldap://<host>:<port>" there and it all works.

Currently i am configuring Sun IDM 6.0 SP1 to active sync with Sun directory server. I have enabled Retro Change Log but yet i cant find my changeNumber in directory server. Could anyone show me a way (search?) to get what changeNumber directory server currently running?

Check the account used by IDM to access DS can search cn=changelog branch. If he is not Directory Manager, you probably need to set an ACI on that branch.

I cannot use Microsoft Hotmail with Firefox 3.6.24 and Windows 7. I click on an email but nothing happens. I did not have this problem with Windows Vista. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

The Windows 7 is on a new Dell Inspiron desktop. The Windows Vista is on a Dell Studio laptop that I have had for a while. The Hotmail also works fine on the new computer when I use IE9.

Using Citrix Receiver with Firefox 30 to connect to VDI it fails. There is no error message appears. Running MS Windows 7 Professional.

Using Citrix Receiver 4.1 with Firefox version 30 on Windows 7 Professional to connect to VDI it does not connect. The ICA does not load. Tried all mentioned fixes found for this problem and nothing has resolved the problem. It worked successfully prior to Firefox version 30.

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
The core Norton components such as antivirus and firewall will still work, it will just be the add-ons that are not currently compatible.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Cannot compose or reply using yahoo mail with firefox

I have done everything Yahoo says to do which is FF's solution to my problem, but it does not solve the problem
Yahoo mail works fine with IE & CHROME but with FF 33 & 34 it will not allow me to compose or reply to an email!
And the checkboxes with the icons inside have been there for MANY versions.
Sad that I will have to switch to Chrome or IE

I am suddenly having this problem with not being able to
reply/forward to (certain Gmail conversations).
Now using, Mac OS 10.5.8 and experienced the presence of this issue with Firefox 3.6.10. AND 3.6.13 but not with Beta 4.
I have used Safari and the error is not reproducible. This issue is exclusively present to Gmail in FF.
I can confirm that FF config is presently dom.storage.enabled.
I have started FF in safemode, disabled, updated and enabled all plugins and add-ons, restarted FF and desktop many times, the issue is still present in FF 3.6.10/3.6.13.
Only some conversations cause this error. When I click on particular conversations reply/forward tab, the page freezes and the only way to temporarily resolve this, is to click the refresh icon as F5 will not work.
It does not freeze the whole
FF browser, just the window with Gmail.
I need a fix as FF is my primary browser.

Can't use anymore Gmail with Firefox 32.0.2. Script Crash all the time

The same thing happends with 30, 32 and 32 versions.
Some time ago I found a solution in internet (the solution make me do things in about:config) and that new configuration works very well (in my desktop computer)... Now I dont remember which changes I made and i can´t find the same solution to apply in my notebook.
So... in my Notebook Gmail doesn´t work with FireFox... and in my desktop, works fine. My Notebook is more powerfull than my desktop machine.
I try other solutions suggested in Firefox Forums but the issue continues... (Factory Reset, Re-install, Javascript not enabled... etc etc) Nothing work...
So in my Notebook I use Firefox (browser that I love and i been using from version 2 or 3) and Google Chrome (Browser that I DON´T LOVE AT ALL) for Gmail
