Using TabbedPanels widget to make photo album

I was pondering upon a nice tutorial here at Adobe - really good, but it used Dreamweaver 8 (while being written at CS3 era) and a lot of efforts to be done by hands - about the ways to create a photo album using built-in Dreamweaver CS4 Spгy features.
Probably i'm not the first one who came up with the idea like this - to use vertical Tabbed Panels widget, where tabs serve as holders for thumbnails, and panels content the bigger images. Still needs some polishing and measures corrections to be made, but the main thing is that it's simple and it works!
So, any ideas, advices?

Such a pity that Dreamweaver still has got no simple instrument (or some third-party freeware extention) to build nice and modern-looking (and working) photo-albums with the gallery of thumbnails - you have to manually generate XML database of all your images, which is a tedious task, like in that aforementioned tutorial...

Photo books are only available in iPhoto on a Mac, not on the iPad.
You can organize your photos into Journals on the iPad. If you have an iCloud account, you can publish your journal as a webpage and share a link to your journal with others. When you edit your journal, your changes automatically appear on your journal webpage.

Open the photos app, tap Albums at the top, tap "+" on the top right, give your album a name, tap Save, tap Photo Stream at the top, tap the photo stream album to open it, tap all the photos you want to add to this album, tap Done on the top right. Repeat for each album you want to create.

I am trying to make photo albums and different camera rolls for the ipad and iphone. can anyone tell me how to do that?

I don't think you can in the native iPad Photos app. It's just where all photos save in camera roll. If I sync folders with pic from my MacBook, it syncs as a separate album in Photos, but I can't move pics between them. I've actually just downloaded an app that allows for sorting photos by creating links to the photos to place them in the folders you create--it does not make duplicates of the photos to do this, so no worries of using up space.
Anyway, the app is Best Album +transfer. Right now on sale for 99€ which was why I decided to get it.

Create Web Photo Album

I'm trying the 30-day version of Fireworks CS3 for two
reasons: First I want to more easily create my web photo albums,
and second, I want a graphical navbar with some elements having a
popup menu.
The issue I'm running into when I use the "Create
Web Photo Album" command from within DW CS3 is that the
resulting images get renamed to have a suffix of
"_jpg" added. I HATE that! (This means that an
image called "name.jpg" gets changed to
"name_jpg.jpg". Redundant, to say the least.
How can this be controlled? If I use FW directly to optimize
an image, this renaming doesn't happen, so I'm guessing this is
something that DW controls. And I'd like to override that.
Any help would be appreciated.

NO! It's not that easy! Have you actually tried the advice
you just gave? That'll break the whole routine!
(Folks, whatever you do, before attempting ANY modifications
to this file, MAKE A BACKUP!!!)
You need to make changes in several places and everything
must remain in sync - don't forget that this routine also writes
the html table code to display both the thumbnails and full-size
images and the href and img src references must point to the
correct files! If you remove the references to .jpg the resulting
html tables will NOT work! And the files will probably be wrongly
named as well.
Proceed with caution!
I'll see what I can do about documenting what I did - I'm new
to javascript but have many years of higher level programming
experience. The first thing I did while going through the code was
to put in comments explaining what certain parts of the code did,
as I figured them out. And then with great care, I made my changes.
By the way, Notepad certainly works for this, but it's a lot
easier to use Dreamweaver itself or (what I did) the Adobe
Extendscript Toolkit 2 that was included with my CS3 package. It
makes it easier to visualize the blocks of code and how everything
relates. And the find/replace dialog is superb.

Spry photo album displays in Safari not in IE

I used the article

as a guide to build a spry photo album for a pool & spa web
site. The photo album displays perfectly in IE when I preview it
locally. However, when viewing the photo album after uploading to
server, the photo album does not display. To make the problem more
confusing, when I use safari to view the photo album it works
perfectly on the server. What have I done wrong to make it work in
Safari and not IE? I need it to work in IE. I have cross checked
the code dozens of times trying to find the problem with no luck. I
need some direction please.

Could this be why it works in firefox and Safari and not
Internet Explorer? I am perplexed as to why the spry photo album
will work in all browers except IE. It will only work in IE
locally. What am I missing? If anyone has any ideas at all please
let me know. Does anyone have a working example of the spry photo
album in Internet explorer?

Setting up Photo album on a pre-buildt page?

I built a photo album using the DW Command> create photo album and now I have my folder with pages, thumbnails and images. I have a pictures page built for my site already and have read a dozen tutorials but can't figure out how to import my album folder info into my picture page. Is this possible? How do I make my photo album look like the rest of the pages in my site?

Not to put too fine a point on it, the Dreamweaver Create Photo Album command is a pile of garbage. And no, I'm not likely to offend Adobe engineers by saying so. They agree that the code it creates is completely out of date and has no place in Dreamweaver. It was created in the days when websites and web design were much less sophisticated than today. It's not used by professionals, who are the main target market for Dreamweaver, so it was never improved. A much better solution is in the Adobe Output Module in Bridge CS4, which is installed by default with the latest version of Dreamweaver.
Unfortunately, if you want to use the Create Photo Album command in Dreamweaver, you're entirely on your own. It cannot be used to integrate with an existing site. You need to generate the photo album, and then style each page individually to fit in with the rest of the site. Decide to add a few new pictures, and you have to start all over again. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Issues making photo albums on Iphone4

I am trying to make photo albums on my iphone4, and in Itunes it used to let me select sync photos from selected folder, and then I could select that folder and it would sync great and make an album. Now it wont let me choose selected folder, and will only let me choose all folders, or include videos. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Hello,
Make sure you have the correct folder selected. Check the box "Sync photos from" and from the drop-down menu select "choose folder...".
If the folder you chose contains sub-folders, you will be given an option to sync "Selected folders" otherwise the option is disabled.

Customizing iweb photo albums

Hello, wanted to know if anyone has ever tried to customize the way an iweb photo album appears.
What I want to do is to enable the name of a photo as a hyperlink to an internal page of the website. In that case an iweb photo album page could work as product's page and by clicking on the name of a product it could lead to a page with more details for each particular product. If anyone has ever done something like this, I would be much obliged.

Thanx for the answer but if I do so I will then lose all the benefits of the album page, which is nice presentation, easy and fast page creation, slideshow and all other features that make photo albums interesting.
It was not the navigation menu getting huge in my concern when I originally posted my question. With the photo album page there is a kind of zoom into details option that I want to keep. I am looking for a way to add more details for each photo than the name of the photo.

I have the exact same question. Many of my family members are elderly and would enjoy a printed photobook. My Ipad seems like the perfect place to create this sort of album and then have it printed. However, the only app I have found is the HP Photobook Lite app. The app is very limited, limited backgrounds, frames, shadows etc. Also, the only option for printing is magcloud which prints a soft copy magazine type photobook.
Have you found anything that will offer the ability to create a beautiful photobook quickly? I also saw an app called Bookfactory, however, it is Swiss so I think it will not be in English and I do not know if they will ship to the US or the cost. The new ios version of iPhoto allows sharing. Here's a blurb from Apple's web site:

I have not used ios version of iPhoto to share "journals" and I'm not sure this is part of iCloud or not. You'll have to do a google search on "ios iphoto" and read up of this journal thing. As far as I know, this is the only way of sharing photos. I'm not sure whether other friends use a browser to view these journals or whether they need something special. Any way - search around to find answers.

How to delete a photo album from iPhone using a new hard drive & a later version of iTunes

I'm using the same computer but with a new hard drive and a later version of iTunes. I previously loaded a photo folder from my PC to my iPhone, but I inadvertently did it twice, giving each folder a different name -- "Photo Library," and "Widget Photo Folder." Of course, I also have the "Camera Roll" folder on my iPhone. I now want to delete either the "Photo Library" or the "Widget Photo Folder" from my iPhone. On iTunes in the Photo tab, I don't have the option of deselecting the folder in my PC that I previously synced. Apparently, iTunes recognizes that the privious sync was not done with the new hard drive? How, then, do I remove one of the photo folders from the iPhone?

You CANNOT delete photo album. ALL pics synced to iphone are oin photo library. Those exact same photos, NOT duplicates, can be accessed from the individual albums.
This is how Apple handles photos.
Just as a song is in a playlist and in the library ( there is only one song, simply two ways to access it), photos are in the library and the same photos can be accessed from the album.

If you do not have iOS 5, you have to use subfolders in your one photo syncing folder. You can have one level of folders in the syncing folder and each folder is an album.
With iOS 5 you can create albums in the Photo app.
