Using the cloud in a unsupported country

I want to use the programs in the creative cloud. I can get a membership while in my home county of Canada, but will I still be able to do the monthly internet validation/updates while in central/south america which is not on the list where this product is for sale? Is this like ibooks or kobo that doesn't allow you to download books unless you are in the US or Canada?

So long as you have purchased and activated the software in a supported country using and continued activation in a non-supported country is possible.

  • How do I use the cloud with iTunes?

How do I use the cloud on iTunes?

You can not setup a new iCloud account using a PC. You must use an Apple device (Mac or iPhone/iPad) to create the account, then sign into it using your PC.

  • Transfer photos from one imac to another without using the cloud or photostream.

    Hi,
I've got 4,389 photos in my iphoto library on my new imac. Most of them are personal but a few maybe 500 are from my work. I need to get the personal photos safely out of this iphoto library permanently and onto my old (now personal) computer.
How can I do that without using the cloud or photostream? I've tried using these things in the past and I simpl can't understand them. I got into an awful mess with them and completely confused. I would prefer to just put the photos I want to transfer onto a USB stick or external hard drive and transfer them that way. The problem is I can't understand how to do that!!! I've no problem transferring other files in this manner I just can't figure out how to do it in iphoto.
I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain this in a simple way to me.
    Thanks end Regards,
    Valerie.

It's in the Pictures folder, what are you finding so difficult:

Copy the whole Library, delete what you don't want later.

Willy, the procdedure you describe works perfectly for AppleTV G1. In fact, I frequently play DTS music discs ripped to my iTunes library as Apple Lossless (ALAC) and synched to the ATV. What happens is that, as far as iTunes and the ATV are concerned, a conventional stereo 16/44 audio file is being played; however my reciever detects the DTS data stream, and instead of outputting static, it decodes the 5.1 channels correctly. This process parallels the way DTS discs were designed to be played back: a conventional CD player is connceted, via digital out, to a DTS-aware reciever/pre-amp and the two channels of static are recognized as 6 channels of DTS-encoded audio.
However this process will only work if the player (CD, ATV, PC, etc.) sends a "bit-perfect" 16 bit/44.1 khz data stream to the decoding device. In the case of ATV G2 and G3, as has been discussed elsewhere, the unit resmaples all audio - including 16/44 PCM (Redbook CD)  - to 16/48. While this is not a big deal for conventional audio CDs, MP3s, and AAC files, it mangles the fragile DTS datastream and renders it undecodable. The resulting static that you hear is just like the static you would hear if you played a DTS CD on a non-DTS capable system.
Sadly, I'm not aware of any easy way around this. You could use a program like Foobar (and the DTS plugin) to convert your DTS CDs to 6-ch .wav or .flac file. From there you could transcode the file to AC-3 and then mux it into a video container that ATV supports. You may need add a dummy video track, for iTunes/AppleTV to be ok with the file, though I'm not sure. This may be a lot of work.
Sorry for the bad news. I wish that the iTunes/ATV ecosystem had better multi-channel audio support.

  • Is there a way to share ai or psd files using the cloud with non-cloud clients?

I am interested in sharing the progress of a work in progress.  I have not used the cloud file storage yet and was wondering if there is a way to give clients access to a specific files using the cloud.

Yes. Files are either Private or Public. Once a file is made Public anyone with that url can see the page for the file. You can control whether comments or dowloading of the original file is allowed.
Your client does not need an Adobe ID to view the page, just a web browser.

  • How do I stop iTunes from using the cloud?

I use iTunes primarily for listening to podcasts.  I recently upgraded to version 11.1.
Now, it used to be that I'd refresh podcasts, download the subscribed ones, listen to them, delete them. done.  I just opened iTunes and under one of the podcasts, there were about a hundred old ones; I used to be able to show everything on one page, now I have to scroll 4 or 6 pages to see what I want.  The "new" podcasts have a little cloud icon, so I guess that's where they are, or downloaded from.
Two questions:  how do I delete these files, and how do I stop from using the cloud for podcasts?
(This is a repeat question, because SoonerDoc1 marked it as solved, and it's not)

That doesn't fix it as the podcast with the cloud logo show up as/in unplayed, I subscribe to CNET First Look Podcasts, some download and some don't download but have a cloud logo. Seems very random. iTunes is a badly written application that is getting worse after every new release.  If iTunes doesn't improve soon I'll downgrade to iTunes 10.7 which was just about use-able. for the second time.

  • How do I upload CDs from my PC to my ipod using the cloud?

How do I upload CDs from my PC to my ipod using the cloud?

The iTUnes sync syncs the contents of a folder you choose. ANd it handles only one folder at a time.
What I did to keep things straight, was to make a separate folder inside the 'my photos' part of my computer. Then put in that folder copies of things I wanted on my iPad. I could then add/remove from that folder as the mood struck and since everything in there was a copy I wouldn't lose any. (you would add/remove from the folder, then do a sync to allow iTunes to update that folder on  your iPad to match the folder on your PC)
Another way, to get away from maintaining a folder, if you don't have a ton of photos, just e-mail them to yourself, save them from that e-mail. Keep them on the iPad as long as you like, then you can delete them as you wish. Photos that are synced onto the iPad must be synced off (as in removed from that folder then a sync performed to remove them)
E-mailing the photos to yourself gives you more flexibility in managing them on the iPad.

  • I just bought a brand new iPhone 4s from a Three store. When I used the cloud restore to put the data from my old 3gs onto the device, it's prompting me for an Apple ID login with an email address that isn't mine!

I just got a brand new iPhone 4S on a contract from my local Three store. When I used the cloud restore to put the data from my old 3GS onto the device, it's prompting me for an Apple ID login with an email address (hotmail) that isn't mine! My old phone has NEVER had any Apple ID other than mine log into it, and the new one's a sealed box that I've opened and set up from scratch. Can anyone please explain this? I'm worried there's some kind of problem with my iCloud data being mixed with someone else's or something... Since I logged in with my own ID, it's downloaded the data perfectly fine, but I just got the Apple ID prompt again a moment ago with this same hotmail address in it... I'd be very grateful for any explanation!

In iTunes on your computer, select the Purchased section under STORE in the left column. Click on the first track and choose "Get Info" from the "File" menu.
In the "Summary" tab you'll see details of the purchaser of the track. Click Next to go through all your purchased music one by one until you find the ones you need to get rid of.
Unfortunately, there are no smart playlist rules that can filter tracks by the purchaser that I know of.

That is true - I apologize for not being specific - what I was mainly referring to is iLife applications. I have a notice on the App Store that says 3 apps need updates, I look at the apps and they are huge so since my connection is so slow I use my work connection and d'load the files from support to my Windows machine and carry them home, once d'loaded my MacAir states it cannot install, the update must come from the App Store.
I do the same thing for large Leopard and Lion files and I can install them without error, it is just the App Store files that the system stops.

  • Why Has Adobe Removed The Option For Individuals To Purchase Software And Not Use The Cloud?

As an individual who has been using Adobe products for about 25 years for my personal use and not as a business, I find the new policy of "renting" the software and using "The Cloud" for, at least in my case, a prohibitive monthly fee, to be totally unacceptable and will result in my no longer being able to afford using Adobe products.   I do not understand why Adobe cannot offer their new cloud program for individuals and companies that may wish to use the new system and have the resources to pay in perpertuity, but they should also have the option for those of us who would rather purchase upgrades for whatever programs we use and keep them on our computer without "The Cloud" service.
I am 67 years old and living on a fixed income.  I basically use four adobe programs... Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Audition as I do volunteer work at a local non-profit radio and tv organization.  If I were to "rent" those individually it would cost $80 per month... so I could take the next deal and get access to all software for $50 per month... I cannot afford either of those.  If I could upgrade one or more of the  programs every two or three years... keeping them on my computer and not using "The Cloud," then continuing to use the products would be doable.  However, being forced into a program that requires a monthly fee and use of "The Cloud" which I do not need to use, seems totally unfair.   I certainly understand that there are  businesses and individuals who will love the new program, but why not have the option?  Or perhaps a "Senior" discount as you do for educators and students?
Something to think about.  It seems Adobe may be moving to the "Cable Television" model of monthly fees that will go no where but up.

Hey there, you may have heard that Adobe is continuing to sell and support CS6 for customers who prefer traditional licensing.  It's last year's version instead of the latest-and-greatest CC release, but it's something to consider if that's important to you.
As far as a "senior discount" on Adobe software, there has never been one – but one thing to consider is becoming a student or teacher because there is no age restriction on that, in which case you may become eligible for education discounts.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I delete some of my contacts using the cloud

Today I bought a new iphone the set up person at the store downloaded my contacts and there are duplicates of all of them he said I could use the cloud to delete them

You can delete contacts just as you would if iCloud were not involved.
Or you can delete them from the iCloud using the internet as follows:  From any computer, visit http://www.icloud.com  Sign on using your Apple ID and password.  Open contacts there and delete as you wish.
