Using the Component AV Cable to Listen to Music Through the TV

I expect that this will be a simple Yes/No question but..
I have the Component AV Cable for my iPod Classic (120GB). It works fine for watching, videos and viewing photos, but is there any way for it to use the TV speakers to listen to music? If so, how?

I have 4 places where the red and white Audio cables could go:
The red and white audio slots for "Componant."
The red and white audio slots for "DVI"
The red and white slots for "AV In" (Typical yellow white red slots.)
The red and white slots in the SCART adaptor for "RGB"
Which of these four? I have previously tried all of them to no avail.

Everytime I'm trying to listen to my music on the iPhone 4s these are the list of problems I'm getting
1. It will show the play symbol in the top right but the time on the track is not moving and nothing is playing.
2. I will be listening to one song and it will show I'm listing to a different song.
3. At some songs it won't let me go back to the song before.
4. Some song will not play anymore it will only play the song after but show a different picture.
Is anyone else having any or all the above problems.?

I have never heard of these issues.
Have you tried basics from the manual?
Restart, reset, restore?

My ipod app on my iphone 4 will not let me listen to music through the headphones it came with.

It is quite annoying. I plug in my headphones that came with the phone into the jack and I can hear the instrumental music just fine but the voices sound like they are very far away. I have had my phone for two months and it has been doing it since I got the phone. I tried different headphones thinking that was the issue but it wasn't. I like working out and I have had zero motivation lately b/c I can't get the stupid headphones to work on the phone! I have tried EVERYTHING. If anyone has had similar issues please please let me know what you did to correct it. Thanks.

What do i get with the component video cable and "new" universal dock?

I've got the component video cable and the original universal dock. it doesn't seem to want to pass audio/video. do i have to have the "new" universal dock to pass the signal? i realize i can just hook up my 3G to the cable directly, but i am in the process of building a small home theater and i want to have a dock i can set my phone in. i like the idea of being able to use a remote as well.
also, what signals get passed. do you see everything as you see it on the iPhone screen? do you see album art on the tv? can you move through iPod menus with the remote looking at the TV?

You only see the video of the TV show or movie you are watching. You don't see album covers or any navigation. If you are playing music there is no video, just audio. You can also see photo slideshows.
You have to start the video on the phone. The remote will pause/play the video, change the volume out of the phone, move forward/back chapters of video, move forward/back songs playing or go fast forward/reverse of songs and video. There is no navigation of your songs/videos via the remote.

it might be worth checking your TV settings to see if it has an option for different settings based on whether using the tv speakers or headphones.
Normally you should be able to control the sound via the tv.
Have you tried it without the headphones?

Or, you can try to add a special application like Airfoil that may allow you to stream any audio signal on your computer to the AirPort Express. It might work.

Are you using HDMI or an Apple Airplay Module to go to the TV Speakers?
If you are using an HDMI it's straight through output. The internal speakers are disabled.
If you are using an Airplay Module:
- Go on iTunes
- Locate the Airplay icon that has a TV with an up arrow icon much like your iPhone has for Bluetooth
- Click on that and Airplay to ModuleName

The Classic does not have an internal speaker, so either you need to:
plug in headphones
connect the iPod to an amplifier and speakers (from the headphone socket)
connect it to an iPod Dock cable and plug that into an amplifier
Place the iPod into the Dock on something that has a Dock connector and amplifier built in.

Hi all,
Can someone please help me - I can't seem to keep my Music playing in the background on my ipad 2 when I then open Safari.
All Music automatically stops playing, it's like background Multi-tasking doesn't work for listening to music and using safari at the same time. Is this the same for everyone using iOS 5.0.1 on ipad2?
Any advice would help. This is driving me nuts!

I can't offer much. I'm typing this in Safari on my iPad2 while listening to music from the Music app.

BTW, most Apple support documents lately give a "file not found when" using a link, but load correctly when you reload the url.

You can share your "cellular data" with the computer and other devices through "personal hotspot". You may use USB cable, Bluetooth or Wifi for sharing.
Reverse tethering (sharing internet connection of your computer with iPhone) is not supported.
Call your carrier and activate the cellular data/3G plan on your package. Note that "personal hotspot/internet tethering" is operator dependent feature. Confirm with your carrier or go through this article to see if your carrier is listed and offers this service.

Sorry, iOS will pause the music playback when you are on the phone call. You can set iOS to use bluetooth for your audo playback on your music app, and select the earpods for the phone app, but as soon as you answer the phone call, iOS will pause the music playback. This is a core OS feature, so you will not find any certified iOS app that will do what you want.
As a side note, please use extra caution when using your ear pods while driving. It is not safe as you may not hear emergency vehicles, car horns, railroad crossing bells, etc., and it is illegal in many states (in the US).

Yes it does. An hour of music streaming may use around 120 MB. If you do that every day it could easily go past your cap.
However, streaming audio is not as bad as streaming video.

Try running Pandora in its own tab and leaving that tab open (Safari 7.1.5, OS 10.9.5). I don't have Pandora to try this, but it works for me otherwise.

The only limit is that of the device. No restrictions on how much of it you can use for music. Is part of your music library unchecked?
