Using the DPS Web Viewer "Web Viewer Only" option
upon investigation of the folio producer page, I noticed that there is a check box option for "Web Viewer Only". Can anyone explain how this option works? or where there is some documentation regarding how to use this option?

I have read that article. I just am not sure if you have to "create" 2 separate folios. 1 for the "tablet device" and 1 to be accessed on the web.
I ask because you mentioned this: "In most situations you can just ignore it and publish an iPad rendition that will automatically get used for the web"
Thats where it gets confusing, I don't know if the ipad version will just automatically show up for the web viewer once that option is clicked. Without creating 2 folios. 1 for tablet. 1 for web viewer.

If you create an Apple ID for your daughter, signing out of the existing Apple ID with the iTunes & App Store on her iPhone will not change anything on your iPhone.
All apps include DRM protection which is tied to the Apple ID that was used to download the apps.
If she starts using her Apple ID to download apps, when there is an app update for an app on her iPhone that was downloaded with the current shared Apple ID, she will need to use that Apple ID and password to download the app updates. -
I do not need another wireless network but want to use the airport express for printer access only. Can this be done and how?
You can configure the AirPort Expess to "Join a wireless network" and enable the Ethernet port so that Ethernet devices will be able to connect.
In order to print from the iOS devices, you will need to have an application like Printopia installed on your Mac. The Mac must be active when you want to print.

Creating multiple tab reports using the same query in Web intelligence

I have created a Universe on a BW Query which has fields as below
AGE Depaatment Gender Grade
25 FIN M A
27 LES F A+
60 SWS M A++
Based on this data i have created a WEbi report which shows all of these data under one tab.
Now i create a new report tab in the same Webi Document by right cliicking the existing report and going to inset report and saving it.
Similarly i create two more new report tabs.
in each of these tabs i want to show data only for the concened departments.ie =1st report contains all the departments.
2nd report contains only finance data, third contains only Les data and fourth only SWs Data.
Is it possible to create this report using the same query?

Raj.You should use report filters, not query filters.
A query filter will affect the entire document. Every report tab that pulls data from that query will be impacted. If you start with a single report, by default it shows the data from the query. If you duplicate that report tab, then it's still attached to the first query. There are various ways to create report filters (input controls, quick filter, invoking the filter area from the toolbar) and a report filter impacts only blocks on that report tab. You can even create block filters by clicking on the block first, then creating your filter.
This is a fairly confusing bit for folks that are new to Web Intelligence. -
Unable to update a field using the Data tab on a VIEW
When viewing data using a VIEW instead of going to the table directly, am unable to change the values in any of the fields
When I click on the list of VIEWs for a schema, then select a view that is based on a SELECT statement for a single table with a Primary key, and then click on the DATA tab to modify the value in one of the fields, SQL Developer does not allow me to change the value.
Went into SQL Plus, and was able to execute an UPDATE statement against the same row of that VIEW, and update that field ("UPDATE vw_mytable SET thisfield = 'YES' WHEN row_id_number = 1'").
Does SQL Developer not allow updating tables through a VIEW?
Will it allow updating in the future? Please say yes.

The JNDI approach should work-we will try to reproduce this internally.
I would recommend leveraging the OSGi service registry, instead of using JNDI, however. The Event Server is a modular server based on OSGi, so one should use the OSGi service registry whenever possible instead of using the jndi registry. Jndi is primarily there to support legacy code that requires Jndi.
Any data sources that you configure are automatically registered in the OSGi service registry. When there is more than one data source they can be distinguished using their name.
There are a couple of options.
If you want to inject a reference to your datasource into a Spring bean, you can use an annotation, @Service, to annotate a setter method on your bean (see my previous post). The container will then inject a reference to the data source into the bean.
You can also put the following in your spring application context file
<osgi:reference id="myDataSource"
interface="javax.sql.DataSource"/>
This creates a bean proxy that references the datasource by looking up the datasource in the OSGi service registry. It works similarly to JndiObjectFactoryBean, but it uses the OSGi service registry instead of the JNDI registry. You can read more about it here

The iChat application will allow that.
If you have a .mac account, then you can use that as your ichat user id and password, otherwise you can also use AIM - go here to create a user id and password and then enter them into iChat (remember to specify that it's an AIM account)..

Do I use the organizer to use Elements 12 as a simple photo viewer? Typically with photo viewers, you can access each photo in a file and go from one to the next without opening a specifc file such as with the Editor. I am new to this.
Or am I expecting too much from Elements?I was digging around with the instructional videos offered at the Adobe site and I believe I have answered my own question. The key is to import the photos into the Organizer and then it can be used as a simple viewer. I have always been hesitant to import any of my photos into any kind of "organizer" in the past and always just viewed the photos from the file folder as I wanted. But the MS viewer is not very handy from my point of view and I always used Photo Impressions in the past on my other computer. I don't want to download this software again due to all the adware that I expect will be present in the free version. My virus software will choke on it I'm sure.

At my new job they want us to start creating versions of certain marketing books for the iPad. It was originally decided that we should use iBooks Author but it seems a waste of time to have to create the print version in InDesign and then recreate it in iBooks Author (especially since there are so many design limitations with that program). Since the books are very image heavy and they really want us to keep features like the gallery widgets, just exporting the InDesign document as an ePub doesn't seem like it will work. From what I understand the Digital Publishing Suite is the best option but I'm still not really sure how the actual publishing portion works. As I understand it the completed folios get published as an app? Does this mean each 15-20 page marketing book would get published as a separate app or could each "issue" be within one app so that way the people who need to view it only have to download one app at a time? Is there any better, more economical option aside from the DPS? Especially since we're using CS6 and not the Creative Cloud

Publish a folio to iPad - without using the DPS and iTunes?
I have an In-House publication that is not for public consumption, so the features offered in each of the Adobe DPS subscriptions are a liability in my case rather than an asset. Does anyone know if it's possible to publish an InDesign (5.5) folio using DPS to select recipients outside of the iTunes app store?
Also, if this isn't possible, does anyone have a definitive list of what interactive features (and their limitations) are available when publishing to Interactive PDF? I've seen the .swf page flip tutorial on Adobe tv, but can't find other resources that discuss functionality/limitations of interactive content in the PDF.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried to set my email to reply from my iphone 5 both of which use the same SMTP server. I can't change the settings on the others as it will only allow one mail account. Can I add multiple with the same smtp?
I Am not using gmail I use seperate company for my mails both use the same smtp server. The problem is when I set my first account it them uses these details and passwords when I create the second account saying that the smtp server is already in use by the primary account. I therefor can't set the password.

My itunes library is much bigger than the 64gb on my ipod touch, but I want to update the touch to ios5.1. I tried the ipod backuo funnction, but this only produced a small file, much smaller than 64gb. If I upgrade, will i lose all the music and books as currently constituted on the ipod touch?
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.. See the following for what it contains.

Can't use the DPS Tools because I need to update but can't do that...
I want to use the Indesign dps tools but when I try to make a folio my Indesign Folio builer says that I need to update my InDesign in order to use it.
But when I look in the creative cloud app and under 'help' in Indesign it says that my progam seems to be up to date...
So it says that it needs an update of Indesign but I cannot execute an update.
Does anyone have the same problem or knows how to solve it?

Nick MeeuwsI'm not sure what causes this problem. I haven't been able to reproduce it, but I've seen it before. You might want to try creating a new account with admin rights and installing InDesign and DPS using that account. I'll ask around to see if anyone has a better solution.

If I us the paremeter "1,[~0]" It doesn't find the line 1,0.831262,0.000... which is the one that I want. I also tried :1,[0-9].+[~0] and that didn't work either. the problem is that the first digit after to 1, isn't allways going to go from 0 to 0.0 sometimes it might go from 0 to 2.??.

1,[~0] matches a "1" a "," and then any character that is not "0".
1,[0-9].+[~0] matches a "1" a "," and then any character that is "0-9", any number of anything!! (1 or more) and then anything that is not "0". Note that you have to escape a . to match a ".". Like this "\.".
There is no way to check if there is anything other then a "0" in the match, from within the match pattern function. So I think you won't be able to find a pattern that does the trick.
Why not use a whileloop to find the first item? Or use the Spreadsheet String To Array, and then compare the desired row or column with the string "0.000000"? (Or replace all ,0.000000, by a string like ",NULL,", then match the pattern?)
In LabVIEW 8 there is a new Match Regular Expression function. Haven't tried it, but it should be much more powerfull then the Match Pattern function. But also much more complex.
