Using the FCB1010 direct, or through an Interface

Hi,
I am wish to use my Mac to create the effects I wish to use for my playing (guitar) with Logic and Mainstage. I will need a foot controller, so I am considering the FCB 1010 (as many have). I will also be purchasing an interface which will allow me to record, and sing. I have a couple of questions:
1 - is it better to plug the FCB1010 directly into the computer when using it with mainstage, or can I use the MIDI IN/OUTs on the interface?
2 - would I be better of sending the output of the interface to my aplifiers, or powered monitors?
3 - if I had a mc + the pedal baord plugged into the interface (assume the answer to 1 allows me to do this), will the output of both go to the lineouts of my interface (say a presonus for example...)
4 - if the answer to 3 is yes: would I be better with a Firewire or would a USB interface be ok (I understand that firewire is always better for latency, but if I could use a USB with satisfactory results... that may be ok)

1 - you can only connect FCB1010 by MIDI IN/OU not USB (directly). But it´s very easy. Any hardware with MIDI IN/OUT can be connected to the FCB1010.
2- Depending on what you want to do. Please be more specific (use a guitar amp, use monitors in studio)
3 - In Mainstage/Logic you can configure and route any input to any output of your audio interface. So yes
4 - The answer is: firewire BUT there´s no diference if you just use a few tracks in/out USB is most capable, but use firewire, and if you do that you can still leave a free USB slot for others things

Congrats on your new Z10! I know having the right features is important. The Z10 uses Blackberry link software. The device uses the mobile hotspot feature to non-cord tether the device. The mobile hotspot feature is an additional cost. You can add this feature online http://vz.to/1di2TlT .

Has anyone used the QuickUSB module (Bitswise Systems) to interface to a USB Camera via IMAQ for USB?

Has anyone used the QuickUSB module made by Bitwise Systems with LabVIEW for image acquisition. I have a USB camera and I'm trying to use the IMAQ for USB controls to no avail. Any input is appreciated.

Are you using the NI-IMAQ for USB functions or are you calling the QuickUSB libraries from LabVIEW? Unless the USB camera is DirectShow compliant, then it will not work with the NI-IMAQ for USB driver. You can use the Code Interface Node in LabVIEW to call external dll's, and it looks like from QuickUSB's website that is the best way to go. Hope this helps.

Double click home button for camera to show up (and iPod). Notifications seem to show up on lock screen that way, too.

Using the "Include" directive

Does anyone know how to specify the location from where one
action script or mxml file can include an other actionscript code?
For example, I have a file mypanel.mxml that is in project1 and
myshared.as in project2. I need to "include" myshared.as in

I think you go to your project properties Flex Build Path
area and add a path to the "Source path" tab.

1) Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <--> ports on your existing wireless router to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule
2) Go through the standard configuration suggested by the setup "wizard"
3) Then manually turn off the wireless function using AirPort Utility

Yes sorry, I can see that from your question title. Are you in the US? Ifv so movie redownloads should be available, but I believev some studios aren't onboard.
In iTunes, go to the Store home page - on the right in Quick Links is there a Purchased/Purchases section? If so check if you can download the movies from there.
If you can't see them go to expresslane.apple.com and raise a support ticket for iTunes store, asking them to enable download via iTunes.

I have recently received a project from someone who has already captured the footage, can I use the footage directly from the capture scratch for my new project?

Will this in any way effect my footage when working/exporting? I will be working off the same hard drive.

If all the footage played in FC to begin with and all the media is included in the capture scratch folder you should be good to go but I would check a few things.
Pull the new footage into your project and look under the compressor column. If any files are H264 or MP4 I would recommend converting these to a PR422 or another FC friendly format. Also confirm any audio only files are aiff/48Khz(not mp3 or 44.1Khz).
In my experience you can work with H264,MP4, mp3 & 44.1 in FC7 but you are almost guaranteed to have problems later.

How to use the direct bytebuffer in JNI? Accessing JDBC from C application.

I am working on a project to access JDBC Driver within C application. The invocation JNI is used.
To get better performance, I use the preparedStatement for dynamic sql. This need to transfer much parameter data from C to JDBC for PreparedStatement object in JVM. I think this maybe get improvements by using the new direct bytebuffer function from JDK1.4. However I cannot find an example code to get start. Could someone provide some ideas for this?
Currently, I directly call JDBC API in C application through JNI, so there is no java codes. Only c file using JNI call.
My understanding is to use the direct bytebuffer feature, I also need to have java codes to process the JDBC API call and then can share the same memory between Java and C. Please correct me if wrong.
Any input is appreciated.

Nothing to do with java, jni nor C.
Major (or perhaps everything that is a real 'database') comes with additional tools. Amounst those tools will be command line tools capable of importing and exporting data from the database. In processing bulk data they will always be faster than anything you can do in JDBC.
