Using the HTML Validator for Firefox, I have found that every page I open has errors, not just the ones I have designed; why?
Even using it on this page there are 5 errors geneated.
I am using HTML Tidy.
Is there something wrong? Am I using it incorrectly?
I checked and agree this page does not pass validation
* http://validator.w3.org/unicorn/check?ucn_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fsupport.mozilla.org%2Fen-US%2Fquestions%2F992639%23answer-551039&doctype=Inline&charset=%28detect%20automatically%29&ucn_task=conformance#
That validator is an official w3.org validator

I suppose it could be expected these pages would pass validation. I will mark this for escalation lets see what HelpDesk's observations are on that.
I also note that ''html tidy'' appears to be a utility originating from w3.org

As for your own problems with web design that would best be discussed elsewhere. <br />Ordinarily I would say a Mozillazine forum may be a good place to try

Several weeks ago I added the Heartbleed Virus Monitor - o.2.1. I also changed a number of passwords.
Understood that main sites like Yahoo, bank, Outlook, gmail, etc. had already taken steps to guard against the virus. Several days ago, I began to get notices from the Monitor in the lower right corner of my desk saying that each page I went on was susceptible to the virus. Do I need to do something else to be safe. Is the add-on not working correctly?
Please help, if possible.Who is the issuer of the certificates?
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If <b>"I Understand the Risks"</b> is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
*Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
*Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate. -

Hi there
The Student membership is an annual plan so you'll pay the same price each month for 12 months regardless of when you graduate during that year.
Thanks

This warning appeared when I tried to do the update installation.
The [http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ Adobe Flash Player] page refers to 10.1, but the full version details for the latest release is 10.1 r85 which is a security update. You can get it from the above link, or use the manual installers available from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller
You should not have to disable the Anti-virus software in order to install Flash, only do that if is is interfering with the installation. -
'The version of mozilla in my program list has 45.5 mb of space but when I look at the download it says it should only be around 15mb.
If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -

My issue is that I'm trying to connect a PC to my wireless network run off of a Time capsule/airport router. My macbook pro connects fine but the network password is hidden and set to autoconnect. I thought I wrote the password down but when I try to connect the PC laptop and type in the timecapsule network PW is doesn't work. Trying to verify if the passwird I wrote down is correct but there doesn't seem to be a way to recover this.
Does anyone out there in the community know how to do this? (or do I just have to do a reset on the time capsuleReset the TC.

When I am at a website that contains a button for printing (Gmail, for example), is there a way to change the way that functions, so that when I click "Print", Firefox will open Print Preview instead of taking me to the default system printer?
You can apply system-wise "negative" color effect under Settings > General > Accessibility, by toggling the White and Black switch - and, in iCab Mobile (and some other, better browsers / PDF readers), its own "night mode" negative color scheme.
Otherwise, no, you can't do anything else except for asking third party app authors to add selectable back/froeground (=text) colors to their apps.

my bank only uses FF 3.0 or 3.5 but it is no longer valid for firefox, will I still have some protection. When I upgraded the bank site failed to work and I even got a warning that it was not the right version for them.
You can use the free Pacifist and look inside the installer disks for your comptuer and transfer the Mail program back to your computer.
http://www.charlessoft.com/
You really need to update your operating system, likely some things have changed and the old Mail program might not work anymore correctly.
You can use the free MacTracker to find out what operating system your comptuer can handle, likely 10.5 if it's a PowerPC.

I have Windows 7 Professional and I used to be able to move the curser over the Firefox Icon in the taskbar and it would show me a telescoped view of all open tabs, now it just shows the tab that I'm currently viewing. How do I fix this?
Hey MikeDo,
Do you have the option checked for ''Show Tab Previews in the Windows Taskbar''? If not, just go to ''tools->options->tabs.'' You can find more information on what each of these settings do in the Knowledge Base article [[Options window - Tabs panel]].
Hopefully this helps! -
After installing the new update for Firefox 3.6, no matter what I do, I cannot connect to the internet using Firefox. I can get on the internet using my other browsers (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer), so Firefox is the only one that doesn't work. I have already checked my firewall and have added and removed Firefox from my firewall to no avail. I've also already uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but so far it hasn't helped.
I have already tried removing firefox from my firewall. Even when I do that, my firewall doesn't detect firefox and prompt me to add it. And when I manually add it, it still doesn't work anyways. I've already tried the link as well, but it has been unhelpful. :/
I'm not sure if it matters, but a few weeks before this, I did download Microsoft Security Essentials. -

Does anyone have the HTML code for the Buffy Font
Does anyone have the HTML code for the Buffy Font?
1) download one of the Buffy fonts @ font space, just as Hans-Günter wrote.
2) go to FontSquirrel, and use the web font generator: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/tools/webfont-generator
3) load up your buffy font, and generate the web font.
4) download the zip package, and check out the included demo file
Copy all the font files (all four of them) to your web folder. Then copy the code that looks like this to the top of your css:
@font-face { font-family: 'FontName'; src: url('FileName.eot'); src: url('FileName.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'), url('FileName.woff') format('woff'), url('FileName.ttf') format('truetype'), url('FileName.svg#FontName') format('svg'); font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; }
Check that all file references are set up correct, and use the font name in your css rules.
h1 {
font-family: 'FontName';

Basically I recently installed Firefox 3.6 on my Mac Laptop, only 3-4 months old, so latest Sea Leopard OSX System whatever
Anyway once installed I decide to have a theme, then add some add on applications. This seems to be the problem
When I first tried to run it all the apps opened home pages and I kept trying to close them as they did
Next time I got less pages but then I could not access the Tools>AddOns menu before the Firefox browser crashed
What seems to be happening is that the Weather app takes forever to load, my Apple Mac goes into the circle (thinking) mode which means I cannot activate any menus or move my mouse. Then by the time I try and type in say google in the blank www URL address the browser crashed. I have tried going into safe mode using the Option but makes no difference
If I can somehow instal the irksome weather app or get access to the Tool >Add ons menu and uninstall each of the several apps I have daftly installed I know I can get a solution
Any help or suggestions appreciated since I still think Firefox is cool:-). its the apps or some of them that suck!Maybe you did't understand my previous statement. There are no crashes in FF 3.6, There is no previous evidence FF 14 was ever here, I completely uninstalled all trace of Firefox, no app data, no preferences, no cache. I will upgrade to FF14 so I can send IDs,
so here ya go.
