Using the iphone to view a video recorded on a separate high speed camera
I use a high speed video camera to film athletic motion. Can I play this back on my iphone? The files are in avi format and would I require any adaptors. Thanks, I am very new to using the iphone.

No. Only the iPhone 4S, iPad3, and TV3 currently support 1080p30 content. Even then the 1080p30 playback support for your monitor may depend on how the device is connected. The iPhone 4 is limited to 720p30 playback.

I have previously saved my .mov file as Apple TV, but the quality is reduced from 1920x1080 to 960x540. When I go to create a new project in imovie using the iPhone 5, I am not able to see any of my video clips or photos that are saved on the device.
When you move or copy the compound clips with their events into an external drive all the events should be there. Not clear on why you want to move them into a single event. You can drag and drop from one event to another.
Why are you using compound clips? You can simply copy the project from each machine with used media onto the external drive and that should do it. -

When using Safari on the iPhone can you watch videos and listen to music?
Ok, this question might be stupid, but I just need to know.
Lets just say I use the iPhone and use Safari to go on myspace.
Can I watch a video on myspace? Can I listen to a song on someones profile??
I know you can just click the Youtube button and instantly watch a video. But on all the videos of the iPhone using Safari, NO videos show the iPhone using Safari to watch a video and listen to music on a webpage.

Thanks for the response! I use Display Record with various sound/video themes and would like to include them in my presentations. For what it's worth, I will make a suggestion to Apple, to make the muting of sounds, during recording a user preference/setting.

Had iPhone for a while and generally happy, but it seems I still need to keep my old nokia E72 because I cannot seem to use the iPhone as a modem, nor does it support rSAP.
Also, while I like the threaded sms view, I'd also like the option to create sms folders to stash away my banking sms info, all of which comes from different numbers, and filled the sms inbox with hundreds of messages.
Lastly, having the meeting for the day diplayed somewhere on the home screen would be great if there were a way to do it. Yes, I can go into calender easy enough, but unless I develop the habit of checking it all the time, I often forget about a meeting whereas on the old nokia, it was always displayed.
What gives with the lack of flash support? Maybe ol Steve dislikes adobe, but it seems like a serious lack to me. Even the old nokia has some flash support.
Given that, I must say I love the seperate calenders and contacts. It's great to be able to keep home contacts seperate from work ones, but still have them on the same phone. Email is great two - full html support seems like a given but it works really well.rSAP has largely been supplanted by ABAP, which the iPhone supports. Most modern smartphones, including the iPhone do NOT store any information on the SIM.
SMS inboxes. Not much to say. I've never had a desire to do this. I understand it could be useful, but it's unlikely to change.
As for meetings on the home screen... Wait for iOS 5
Flash: it's not JUST that Steve doesn't like flash. Adobe has failed to produce a workable version of Flash for iOS. Blame has to go to both sides. I say good riddance to it. -

Can I use the iPhone as external microphone for my iMac?
My imac doesn't have a mic in, only a line in. Is it possible to use the iPhone as external mircrophone with some extra software maybe? I want to create video tutorials and the internal microphone isn't good enough for this.

When using the iphone 6 Plus. I use iMessage and then attach a photo or take a photo... the app does not show the camera fully or even to attach a photo does not work. I have about 8-9000 phones and like 10 short videos in there but it is incredibly slow and almost unable. I have the 128GB iPhone 6 Plus with 46 gb still available. I think this should not be so slow with so much memory still available. Please help. I am using 8.1.2. Yes I have set up the phone as a new phone. After erasing and setting up as a new device, your device is now in a factory configuration. Test to determine if erasing and setting up as a new device resolved the issue. Content on the device may have caused unexpected behavior.
- If the issue is still present, you may want to contact Apple Support.
- If the issue is now resolved, sync one type of content at a time back to the device. For example, if you had an issue playing music, add songs from iTunes and confirm they will play. If your contacts weren't loading successfully, add the contacts back. After each sync, test to see if the issue has returned.
