Using the Mic in Windows 7

I sometimes like to have conversations with my friends on MSN Messenger and other programs (like online games and such), but I noticed that there are no drivers installed for the mic. Is there a place where I can go to download drivers so it will work?

Download and install Windows Management Framework 4.0 (Powershell 4.0) to both your computer and your servers:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40855. Once installed, make sure the Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) service is running on the server.
Once that is done, get RSAT (if you don't already have it):
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7887.
You should now be able to connect.

When I try to save an emailed-to-me document to an existing file on my hard drive by using the little "search" window the recipient file is inactive and does not open to recieve the document I want to save (nothing happens when I click on it and it's a subdued color).
If I click through my files manually by starting on the desktop and working my way to the location of the recipient file I can save.

OMG!! It also happens when I try to open a file from inside a program like Adobe Reader. If I use the little corner search window all the files are inoperable.

DVD drives read the bottom of the disk, not the top. Smooth out the paper & try again.

Garageband is not picking sound from builtin mic (rMBP). I recorded some tracks, now it is not working. All other apps can use the mic. Monitoring is switched ON at GB, it picks sound only some other app, eg. Skype, is used to access the mic.

I have foud the solution - rather stupid. The system setting for audio input was at 70%, increasing it to 100% solves the problem!

Why can't we use the 9400M in Windows

I know that it doesnt seem to be possible to use the 9400M in Windows but why is that? Is it a driver issue or what? Is it totally impossible to use the 9400M in Windows or is it the switching of graphic cards that isn't supported?

At the moment it is most definitely a driver issue, not only of the graphics driver for the 9600M but also of the chipset driver of the 9400M (which is an integrated part of the chipset).
Is it totally impossible to use the 9400M in Windows or is it the switching of graphic cards that isn't supported?
It is possible, since there are reports of a Tool for Vista only (XP is not supported) which does the switching.
But I haven't found any source of download for it.

I just spoke with Tesco technical support (having been transferred to them by Clubcard support), who told me that the problems people are experiencing when visiting the Tesco site via Safari aren't currently being addressed because "not enough people have called to complain about it".
I asked what percentage of people he thought might make the effort to call instead of just giving up. He replied that he would be one of those who just gave up.
So it would seem that if we would like the problem to be resolved, we each need to take a few moments to CALL TESCO and ensure our complaint is logged by the technical support team.

Try turning Siri off and on again. Siri must be enabled for Dictation to be enabled. Settings>General>Siri>off. Give it a minute or so and them turn Siri on again.

I want to create a vi such dat when I press a button on the frontpanel of the vi it opens the same vi in another window..and I should be able to work on this new window also able to work on the previous window without closing it...Just like opening a new window when using the internet explorer....
I try to make my vi a reetrant vi but when I click the new window button on my vi..a new clone windows open up that I can control but the previous windows is not accessible not I close the current window...I want a way that I can acces both vi window and d operation of one will not affect the other like when the indicators are updating in one window the other window will not update...

The picture attached shows what i want to achieve as a vi or executable...The new window button opens a clone of the vi, but the previous window can not be operated on until i close the clone window...i want to be able to work on both window at any time without closing one of them....The vi was design in labview 2010

Synaptics touchpad blocked & delay when using the keyboard in Windows 8.1

Sometimes (possibly when I use the keyboard and then quickly attempt to move the mouse arrow on the screen with the Synaptics touchpad), I am unable to move the cursor for a half of second-or-so.
Sometimes I cannot tap to click, maybe, few seconds (it is very annoying).
There are some Mouse and touchpad settings in Windows 8.1 ("To prevent the cursor from accidentally moving while you type, change the delay before clicks work") which I set to "No Delay (always on)" but it does not work, either.
I also checked the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PrecisionTouchPad
but "AAPThreshold" is set correctly to 0 (No delay).
But I still experiences problems and touchpad does not work while typing and sometimes also few moments after.

If you trying connect two Universal apps through Bluetooth, can you check if the
Windows 8.1 Bluetooth RFComm sample runs fine on both the devices? I successfully tested the Windows 8.1 Bluetooth RFComm sample on Laptop (Windows 8.1) and Windows Phone 8.1 (paired).
Make sure the service which you are trying to advertise/listen is supported by both the devices.

Using the mouse in windows

Okay this is going to be a simple answer I know, so don't roll your eyes. But when it asks me to "right click" how do you do it on this mouse? If I click the right side of the mouse it just moves all of my documents apart and back together again. Same if I use the left. Help thanks Deb.

make sure you only have one finger on the mouse when you click the right side of the mouse. The button/scroll ball in the middle is set up by default to bring up Expose ( all the open windows) Even a slight touch with a second finger on the mouse can cause the mouse to NOT right click properly.
All of this applies on the MAC and Windows side but I'm not sure what the default windows set up is.

The 5. works but the top mic jack on the
XI-FI Music will NOT work.
The only way any mic works is on a 2 speaker
setup and using the lower mic jack.
But that aint the way im paying 00+ bucks.
And btw wheres my software ? Is this crappy

even switch sub/mic with that i have no 2nd mic
option either. No equalizer no 3d sound test no

I'm confused by your comment. There's only mic in jack on the X-Fi XtremeMusic card and it's at the top sharing with the Line IN and Digital I/O. Also, the installation CD is bundled with the full retail box package of the soundcard. Didn't you get the CD in the package? If the CD isn't in the retail box package, you should contact Customer Support at let them know about this.

Any suggestions on how I turn on the mic jack in Captivate 2?
I’m using the 30 day free trial” any chance the mic
record option has been turned off in this version?
The mic and the jack work fine in other programs.

Hi Joe, and welcome to the Captivate User community!
Nothing is disabled in the trial versions. The inability of
Captivate to recognize some mics has been a problem forever, and
all I can suggest is that you run a search (here) to see how others
handled the problem. Wish I could tell you just to "turn it on" but
it's just not that simple.
You will have to use trial and error with various microphones
or follow the suggestions of others herein, to solve the problem.
Try searching for the string "Audio AND mic". Search at least the
"General", the "Editing", and the "Recording" forums for that
string (hold down CTRL while selecting (clicking) multiple fourms).
That will yield several pages of "hits" on your problem.
