Using the number paragraph style.

Hi Guys
Just wondered if there is a way when applying the numbering within the paragraph styles to choose a format that does not put a full stop after the number
i.e current the number would read
1. Say hello
2. Say goodbye
3. Hello again
I would just like to have
1 Say hello
2 Say goodbye
3 Hello again

Open paragraph style options dialog.
Choose Bullets and Numbering category.
Assumes list type is "Numbers".
Within "Numbering Style",
in the field labeled "Number:"
remove the full stop character.
original value: "^#.^t"
modified value: "^#^t"

There are two types of defaults: defaults for all new documents and defaults for the current document. To change the default for any open document make sure no text frame is active and change the formatting as desired in either the Control panel or the Character and Paragraph panels. To change default formatting for new document (those not yet created) do this while no file is open. You can’t change the defaults for several documents at once without a script.

When I had verizon before and my phone got disconnected it allowed me to still iMessage off my number.

If your phone service is disconnected, it's not your number any more.
If you "just got AT&T", how can it be disconnected?

IDCS3 Getting the "next paragraph style" to work

Hi there Adobe Forum.
If you make a paragraph style there is an option that allows you to choose which paragraph style will follow the current one. But I can't seem to get it to work. If I just select one paragraph in my document and make it have a paragraph style that has got a "next style" option in it, the next paragraph does not change.
I tried to select all the paragraph and do the same thing, but then they all just got that paragraph style, no next.
How do you do to make this work? It would be really smart to just select the first paragraph of a text and then choose "ingress paragraph style", which is followed by "first paragraph", which is followed by "normal text". And then be done with it.
Any clues?

Select them all then in right click the first paragraph style in the
paragraph styles panel. Select apply style and next style.

When i tap a name in favorites it uses the number from the name below the one i want

First, turn FaceTime off in Settings>Phone. Then, delete all of your favorites entries. Next, turn FaceTime back on, then add all of your favorites back.

Using the Number Pad on my non-Apple bluetooth keyboard on MBP Retina

Hi, I was able to easily connect my bluetooth keyboard to my MBP Retina, but my Number Pad doesnt seem to work. I was trying to find an option to allow the numpad in keyboard settings, but couldnt find anything. I was hoping somebody would know what to do so that I could use my Number Pad for punching in numbers on Excel, online, etc. It's a huge pain to use the straight line of keys above the letters and I'm used to using the number pad. FYI, I'm using a Logitech MX 5500 Keyboard, if that makes any difference. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Not really clear yet but try either pressing the two shift key for a few seconds (or pressing many times both at the same time) or pressing shift with space. It worked with me. Funy that the problem only happens in excel.

Computer freezes when I use the number keypad

When I use my number keypad it freezes the computer and I have to turn it off to be able to use it again.
I use a PowerMac G4 to interface with an instrument at work. Anyway, a while back I got a new Kensington wireless mouse and started having problems with the computer freezing up when I use the number keypad.
I thought it was the new mouse, but when I plugged back in the old mouse I still had the problem.
I thought maybe the keypad had gone bad on the keyboard because the light didn't illuminate when I pressed the "Num Loc" key. So, I got a new keyboard with a number keypad and it does the same thing.
I don't know what to do with it. Does anyone have any idea or suggestions to try. I'd really appreciate some help.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for action in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Using "Next style" with the same paragraph style for more than one paragraph

I have been using paragraph styles with the "next style" option, it's a huge help. But I need a bit more. So I have the following paragraph structure: ABCCCABCCCAB...
I defined paragraph styles for each kind of paragraph, then in paragraph style A, I added paragraph style B as the next style, and so on. However, when I get to paragraph style C I reach a dilemma. Should I define the next style as the same, or define three paragraph C styles (C1, C2 and C3), link them to each other with next style, and then loop the C3 style into the A style again?
My hope is that there is a way, something like the nested style options, that allows me to define that style C should be used for 3 paragraphs and then the next style becomes style A again.

You just need two styles, almost identical, you can duplicate one. The only
difference is one has the next paragraph c and one has the next paragraph
a. After that I don't see the problem.

Multiple typefaces in the same paragraph style

I use APA formatting pretty often, and headings at the third level begin indented with bold for the title, followed by a period, and then the text for that paragraph, not bold.
Example:
Going to the movies. Going to the movies can be a fun...
Is there a way to create a paragraph style that begins bold, but once the first period is entered the rest of the text goes to regular (not bold) text? I think I've seen this in Microsoft Word.

Why is the Pages paragraph styles list incomplete?

Dear Support Community,
I created a new document and selected the 'Note Taking' template. The default document says 'Subject' in a line under 'Title'. The 'Subject' line is shown to have a paragraph style called 'Heading 3'. But when I click on the drop-down list of paragraph styles, I see no such option.
Why is there a paragraph style that is not listed?
I am using Mavericks and Pages 5.2.

How do I use the same css style but different attributes, Without affecting another page.

Hey everyone,
I am using the "NivoSlider", for my dreamweaver page but I am not sure how to tell styles that one page has one attribute and the other one will have a different attribute.
For example: in my "about us" I have a small slideshow with its own pictures. I then put a gallery page with its own pictures, yet, I want to make that slideshow box larger without affecting the other small slideshow.
I am using just one Style.CSS for the slideshow.
Anyways, is their a way to tell tell the code that one page is going to be a different width then the other?

Embedded CSS rules take priority over styles in external style sheets. So you can add page specific rules between your document's <head> tags and after all other links to external CSS files.

IMessage is not working for my new number it will let me use the number the phone was originally set to and my email address but since I updated to iOS 7 it won't let me select my new number; it is just in grey

I just updated to iOS 7 and now my iMessages won't work. It just keeps saying activating iMessage but it's not doing anything; I tried signing in with my Apple ID but then it just lets me send them using my email address and the number the phone was originally set to; even though that is not my actual number that I use as I changed it through Vodafone so the SIM card now has a different number.
It won't even let me click on my number to select it; it is just that faded grey colour and there are no ticks by it;
And when it says "may be a standard SMS charge to activate" I'm not even getting a text through to be able to activate it anyway
How can I fix this?

Using the number in a name

i need to use a number from a name i get
i have an array of thumbnails, when i rollOver them and
trace..., i get the name of the thumb, for example
_level0.thumbLoader_mc8. is there a way to use the 8 (or any number
that will be for that matter) so i can use it in a for function, i
need to write a function that goes from 0 to the number of the
thumb thats rolled over.
i remember that there is a way somehow, but i dont know how
anyone know?

Put the following code in the main timeline and along with a
movieclip with an instance name of, “thumbLoader8_mc”.
Read the comments in the code. However if your thumbLoaders has a
double digit (10, 57) you need to modify the code slightly.
