Hey guys i have searched for this through the threads but cant find an exact answere. I have a E51 that was from Finland, I know there are diff models from diff areas, I live in the US and the phone is unlocked, on Tmobiles network, Tmobile works in Tahiti, but when i was down there i had no signal, at all, when i go into my network settings:
Dual Mode
UMTS
GSM
I have it set by default at Dual Mode, from what I understand is that the E51 is a world phone which works on most GSM bands, and if i set mine to GSM it should pick up all GSM bands, but in Tahiti I had no service whats so ever, not that im complaining the break was nice, but I am worried if I will have that same problem when traveling to other parts of europe or asia. any advice? do others have the same options? or do i need to get a better software or is this just way off wack? please help .

Tikiphone uses a GSM 900 network standard but some operators do not use the same frequencies or bands. Therefore, to make sure your mobile will work on the Vini network, you should get a dual band (GSM 900 / 1800) or a tri band (GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900).
If you can see any providers in your "Operators Selection" you are online, but your provider has no agreement with any Tahiti one.

Where did the phone come from as most of the UK carriers unlock phones, but the fact that you are now abroad may be a problem.

First, you do not have a 3G if you could upgrade it to 6.1.3, because 4.2.1 is the last version that will work on the 3G. So you either have a 3GS or you somehow hacked the phone to install an incompatible version. You can check the model you have by entering your serial number here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Assuming you have a 3GS the most likely reason for your problem is you have a gray market phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it. When you upgraded it you removed the hack, so the phone is now locked to its original carrier.

I have sprint phone and service without simcard, Sprint and Verizon use CDMA. But if I can get the Verizon iPhone 4S unlocked, I can use it let's said in the caribean, canada, europe etc., with a local simcard from the service provider and country that I visit . For the iPad, iMac you need to create verifyible e-mail addresses created with one of the providers such as Yahoo, Gmail,etc. For the iphone you should use it's phone number, but an e-mail could be used for it too. If you want to associate these e-mail addresses with a single ID, I'm including a link to give you info about how you can do that. Read it carefully, as it can be a bit confusing.

I got the same problem. The percentage of getting this problem is around 10% of all my dial/receive calls.
The problem usually appears when I receive calls. The phone app will freeze, and I cannot dial or receive calls even I closed the phone app, however, most other apps work properly.
Once this problem happens, I will not be able to turn off the phone by holding sleep button, the only way I can get rid of it is holding sleep and home button at the same time to reset the iphone.

The update did not do anything.
AT&T cannot and will not do anything, they do not provide support for iPhones, Apple does.
The issue is not with the iPhone or iOS if you've reset network settings and tried forgetting the Wi-Fi Network, it is specific to the network.
Check the settings on the router, try disabling the security settings first... that will clarify the issue is not with the device but rather the Network.

Unfortunatly the only way that you can get it off is to get the old user to input the password. You may need to contact that old user and see if he can put the old password in. hope this helps.

Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

This isn't an issue. Notice the screen prior to the one that shows usage has an iCloud section and a Manage Storage button. For this button to activate ios needs to download a few kb from icloud. Switching back to this screen forces ios to download those few kb.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.
