Using thunderbird as email client to post pict

Hello everyone,
does anyone know if there a way to setup aperture to use thunderbird instead of mail to send pict from the share menu ?
Thanx for your help
SebM

There isn't. Thunderbird lacks the scripting support necessary for this. You can, however, access your Library from the Attach dialogue in any mail app or from a Media Browser.
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the Aperture Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
or
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser

  • Using Thunderbird as email client in iPhoto

Has anyone figured out how to use Thunderbird as the email client in iPhoto? I have searched the forums and there is only one reference to it and they did not know.
    Thanks for any help.

    Strangeite:
Not at this time. This web page discusses the subject. The reason seems to be that Thunderbird does not support Applescript and that's what iPhoto uses to add photos to email clients.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Thunderbird as Email client in PSE9?

I'd like o connect my pse9 with an actual version of thunderbird to send photos via email attachment. My Problem is, that it isn't possible to choose Thunderbird as Email-client in the Menue (Edit/presettings/relay) - here I can only choose between outlook, Adobe mail and windows live mail. I 've already choosen Thunderbird in the Windows System Control as the Standard Email-Client of the System.
    The System runs on Win7
    thx!

    Hi,
The link to Thunderbird has never been supported - you will need to use one of the others.
In Photoshop Elements 13, the email system has been revamped and should talk directly to your service provider.

  • Can i use blackberry builtin email client with wifi without BIS or BES

Hello everyone, I am using blackberry 9300 curve 3G. is it possible to use blackberry builtin email client through wifi without having the Blackberry services (BIS or BES)? i want to use my official email id (POP3 and smtp) on it. if possible please share the method..
    Thanks in advance

Not that I know of.  You have to have a blackberry data plan in order to use the built in email.  After that, you can use WiFi only.

  • To use Thunderbird to email .jpgs fm Elements 9...

    Hi;
I use Thunderbird as my email account, and it's set in there to be my main email account.  Mostly that works, but whenever I use Elements or some other Mac type software, Mac Mail comes up only.  I don't know how to make it so it does not come up.  Help!
    Cindy

    Thanks.
I hope you mean that Verizon supplies the email services, and that they provide the standard Post Office Protocol (POP)  that works with Outlook and Thunderbird and I guess all email clients.  Not plain web mail or IMAP.

  • Can I use Thunderbird for emailing photos from iPhoto?

Under +Preferences>General>Email photos using+: gives me two options. One Mail and another Entourage. Now I am using Thunderbird for my mailing needs. How can I make iPhoto to use Thunderbird instead of Mail? Thanks!

In the Preferences to Mail there's an option to "Check for New Messages" and if you select "Manually" I think that will do what you want. However, as it's more a Mail query than an iPhoto one I would pop it on the Mail forum for your version of the OS.
Of course there are other ways to get photos to an email client. Does Thunderbird have a Media browser? You can access your Library from one - or make one in Automator which takes a couple of seconds. Or you can access your Library from every Open... or Attach... dialogue in the OS.

  • Is there a way to force href="mailto: to use the default email client

I would like to use the href="mailto:" in my website to automatically open an email but the end user gets the message "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action..."
Is there a way to force to the mailto to use the and user's default email client?
    Thank you for your help

    Hi James -
That is the default behavior of browsers when handling the mailto link.
Please keep in mind that nearly half of website visitors do not have an email client as they are using mobile devices or public computers or web-based email like Gmail, MSN mail etc.
Please don't feed the spambots. Best practice is to use an HTML "form" in conjunction with a server-side forms processing script. Ask your hosting provider if they provide one for you.

  • Using Thunderbird for emails, how do I send a copy of an incoming email to another email address and still retain the original in my inbox

    see above question

If both accounts are set up in Thunderbird, you can probably just drag-and-drop it from one account to another. Hold down control whilst doing so to make it a Copy rather than a Move, or use right-click and choose "Copy to…".
If you don't have both accounts in Thunderbird, you can send it by email. Forward it, or use "Edit As New", or use the Mail Redirect add-on.

And your Java question is?Relax, Thunderbird is written (predominantly) in Java. What? No! It isn't! Why do you think so?
Thunderbird is based on XULRunner, which is a lot of C++. And Thunderbird itself is a mix of C++, JavaScript and XUL.

  • Trying to add my thunderbird work email account to my new iphone, how do I find my "incoming mail server" and "outgoing mail server" host names?

Got a new Iphone 6 and I need to add my work thunderbird email account onto the phone. It is asking me for the host name of my incoming and outgoing mail server and I have no idea what this means- please help!

First off there is no such thing as a Thunderbird email account. Email providers issue email accounts and Thunderbird is email client software and not a provider.
You can look at the server settings in Thunderbird to see the settings it is using or you could get a list from your provider.
In Thunderbird go to the menu bar and select Tools-Account Settings-Server Settings to see the Inbound settings and Tools-Server Settings-Outbging Server(SMTP) for Outbound settings.
No menu bar with Tools showing? Press the alt key.

  • Microsoft Outlook is Wrong Email Client for Form

Forms I have developed using the Forms button in Acrobat 9 Pro that have an email button properly launch the default mail client in Windows, even if Microsoft Outlook is installed but is not the default mail client. Forms I have developed in LiveCycle, however, try to send the form with Microsoft Outlook if it is installed, even if another mail client such as Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail is the default client. Where the user has not configured Outlook as a mail client, the user cannot send the form. Is there a way to force LiveCycle to use the default email client instead of Outlook? Or am I missing a configuration someplace in setting up the form?

Solution on how to set the Default Email Client can be found in http://forums.adobe.com/message/2005281

  • Default Safari email client

I get and preview some email using a webmail account before actually popping it into an email client.
One of the webmail options is to save the email directly which I had never done before.
Curiously, when I saved it, it downloaded and then opened my unused Microsoft Office 2004 and forced me to save it in Entourage. I never wanted to "test drive" the MS Office prouct, but now I am.
My real question is how to set the default Safari email client to my Mac Email?
I am not sure if my webmail service automatically looks for a MS client first but there are no setting there. It seems to me that since I am using Safari, the email client should be user-selectable.
It's not clicking on an email-to link, which works fine, but this is saving an email directly from a webmail account in Safari, and for some reason MS Office email was the default client.
I could delete the MS office trial and see what happens, but I would like to know if it is possible to set the default "save email to" link.
Dual G5 and MacBookPro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Yes, I could pop it with Mail, but that's not the point. I eventually pop all my webmail onto a PC which contains all my email stored in Outlook, only because I started out using it.
When I do a "save as" using my webmail account directly, the extension of the downloaded file is .eml.
I did as you suggested and right-clicked it, selected "other" and chose Mail.app
The mail then appears as an attachment in Mail and when I click on the attachment, Entourage opens again.
I can only surmise that the webmail software, which I cannot control, uses MS as the default encoding for downloading. I don't know when the .eml extension is assigned but the encoding may simply be the result of the original sender's client. It makes sense that if the sender used MS to send the email that my webmail does nothing so the format of the email remains that of MS office.
    That makes sense to me.

  • Submit form using web based email service

I regularly get sent forms by my printers which I fill in to approve print jobs. There's a submit button the forms which has always nicely opened up Mail (Mac OS X) in order to send a data file that the sender can read. However, I've just recently started using a different email client (Postbox) and I get this error from Adobe Acrobat...
The SendMail doesn't know how to talk to your default mail client.  Please select a different mail application to use.
I can't find a way to change the settings though. I used to be given the option between sending via a desktop or web based email service but a while ago I ticked the box to 'not show this message again'.
Anyone got any ideas how I can maybe use Gmail or similar to send these forms?
    Cheers,
    Jon

    Dear Frances,
The "Submit by Email" button enables to submit your form data in two modes.
    1) Default Email Application (MS Outlook)
    2) Use Webmail
You can use option 2 to submit form data through Webmail.
    Thanks,
    VJ

  • Share: where Mail is not default email client

    Hi All
    History
Moutain Lion is a great and some challenging update
I have serious problems with Apples Mail App and it drafts keep popping up. See this link.
So I use a different email client. Sparrow Mail App or Postbox.
    Problem
Now, when I want to Share my work through Pages, Numbers or Keynote and my default mail client isn't Mail App I just get a fail sound and nothing happens.
If Mail App is selected as default mail client share works.
This issue has risen since Mountain Lion update has been installed.
    Solution
Does anyone know how to get around this issue? How one can make iWork apps accept other mail clients to send of work.
Right now is old style save on Desktop and drag into mail client for me. - It's not death, just very annoying.
If anyone has some supreme solution, please let me know.

Hi Peggy. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I might repeat my self: The problem is not selecting the default email client. You can do that in Mail, Sparrow, Postbox and Outlook too.
Setting anything else than Mail as default mail client is not the issue. Done! Easy!
What's the issue is to get iWork applications to accept it! After ML update my iWork apps only want to Share if Mail is standard mail client. Not if any other mail client is selected as standard.
    Hope it clarifies
And once again, thanks for helping out.

  • IMAP push on native email client and dovecot

    Hi.
I'm using nokia's email client (declined the agreement, so the client makes the connection) to connect to a dovecot IMAP server.
My question is, I'm using IMAP push and it works, but the client disconnects from the server (cca 5 min) and makes a traditional sync (if using freq. syncing). If I disable the freq. syncing, it just disconnects.
    Best regards.

It is quite simple: The native email client on e72  does not support IMAP idle / push IMAP.
(The client on my old E51 did though).
If you use Nokia Messaging and give Nokia the email account credentials there should be a push-like function but I did not test that.
I addition, there is no way to get the sent messages to the "sent messages" folder on the server, which makes the use of IMAP totally pointless.
    Get another email client.
