Using Tv as second screen - not all shows?

I have to do a presentation of some stuff that's on my MBP (original) and there's a big Sony TV in the room. I can connect using the DVI, but I only get the photo from my desktop - not the program or any icons. Do I need to shut my screen off? If so, how? Is there a setting I haven't found to do this?
Also, the mouse cursor could travel to the TV - do I just need to drag the program screen to the TV?

Is there a displays preferences other than the one in system preferences? That one only has resolution choices and number of colors choices - not arrangement or anything else. There is a "detect displays" button, but it didn't seem to do anything.
Hopefully, dragging the program over will work - thanks again Stedman - I was hoping that was possible.

I do not receive all my e-mailson all my devices. I seem to get them all on my iPhone 5s, but not all show up on my iPad and iMac. they are all set up the same. Any Ideas on what is going on and what I can do to remedy this? thanks

I have an iMac with OS X Lion 10.7.5,an iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1.2 and an iPad with iOS 7.1.2. all software is up to date. My problem is I do not receive all my e-mail on all 3 devices all the time. I seem to get them on my phone , but not all show up on my iMac or iPad. Any ideas as to what is going on and what can I do to resolve this issue? thanks

On the iPhone, go into Settings -> Store and turn off "Automatic Downloads" for Apps (and Music and Books, if you wish). You can also do that on the iPad to prevent it from going in the opposite direction.
That will stop any automatic downloading... to prevent them from coming over when using iTunes, select the phone (under Devices), Apps, and then uncheck "Automatically sync new apps." Again, do the same for the iPad if you wish.

You don't need an application, just plug a compaitble monitor into the display port of your MacBook Pro, set the screen up in System Preferences>Displays

Using lightroom 5.7.1 not all the meta-information is copied when exporting pictures

using lightroom 5.7.1 not all the meta-information is copied when exporting pictures: city and country are not copied, although this information appears if i open the original file in photoshop. if i export this file via lightroom, the information dissappears.

although i did not change anything updating from lightroom3 to lightroom5, this box was automatically checked in all presets. now i unchecked it and everything works fine.

On the second screen disappear all application windows

Im running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 on MacBook Pro mid 2012.
Description of the problem.
I connect a second screen to the mini display port of my macbook and extends the desktop to it.
Then I send the web browser on the second screen. On the first screen I run an application that goes to full screen.
On the second screen all windows disappears and become gray background.
If on the first screen in the application exit full screen mode, on the second screen appears again desktop and applications running there.
How i can fix it, without upgrading to OS X Maverics?

"Full Screen" is a concept dragged over from IOS, the land of tiny screens. If you have a reasonable-sized screen or multiple screens, it is useless to you. Do not use it!

Loop at screen - not all fields are available

Hi all,
I want to set some fields on the screen invisible.
When I do the loop at screen in PBO not all fields from the screen are available.
Just four fields are available. In the screen there are about 20 fields.
I try to use the chain. field xyz. endchain... But it was not the problem.
Any ideas?

SMS messages not all showing up in OVI Suite

I am trying to transfer all my text messages from my Nokia 3600 to my Nokia X6 using Ovi Suite. Not all of the texts (in the inbox, sent and saved folders) are showing up in OVI. There doesn't seem to be a pattern either, it's just random texts not showing. Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this as I'm really keen to transfer everything over? I tried using the old PC Suite but same thing is happening. Many thanks in advance for any help.

Not sure if this will work too.. because here also some errors are reported.. but no harm trying..Instead of sync.. back-up your messages and then restore..
...other method is .. try the SWITCH function on your new phone.. If your old one is compatible to respond..( do not know whether it is..) you may get all the messages on to your new one..

HT3986 Second screen not recognized under windows7

I have windows 7 64 bits running ok But I it can not recognize a second screen (that MAC OSX does easily), the standard windows control pannel just see the macAir screen and cannot detect the other.
Anyone with similar problems?

I only have one optical drive, so I can't check it out, but you may want to try this:
Remove the eject icon from the menu bar, dragging it out by holding down .
Make sure both drives have a cd/dvd loaded.
Restore the eject icon by double clicking /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/Eject.menu
Any difference??

Aperture album contents not all showing on Apple TV photos; random photos missing

Only noticed this problem by chance when searching for a particular set of photos while viewing Aperture photos via an Apple TV 2. Some Albums are fine others have a random number of photos missing (compared with viewing in Aperture itself) with as little as one photo being shown when there are hundreds in the Album. Any suggestions/ideas as to whether the problem may a set up issue or systematic?

You may not have previews built for the photos that are not showing up. Select all the pictures in the Album that is not displaying all photos, right click while holding the mouse over one of the selected photos, and then select "update previews". After Aperture has built previews for all the photos in that album, you may have to quit Aperture before they will all show up on the AppleTV (when you quit Aperture you will see a progress bar saying "updating sharing preferences", or something to that effect).
If there is a way to get Aperture to update sharing preferences without quiting, will someone reply to the method to achive this? So far, quiting is the only way I have discovered to force Aperture to update the sharing prefs.
Let us know if this works. Usually photos not showing up outside of Aperture is caused from not having previews built for those photos.

HT202157 hulu plus queue not all showing

My Apple TV - since the update and new hulu plus design - has not been showing all of my queue or subscriptions/favorites. I have cross-checked it with my hulu account online, and the Apple TV is cutting off roughly the last 10 of my subscriptions and queue. There is no way for me to get to those shows or episodes on the Apple TV. I have the latest update installed for Apple TV and also restarted several times incluing my entire wifi system, and no luck. Has anyone else experienced this?

When using crop tool the screen goes all black

When I select the crop tool and drag it across the photo to select crop area, the screen goes all black so that I cannot see the area selected or modify its size.
All the boxes (size and resolution) of the tool are clear.
Can somebody help me?
I did try resetting all tools but didn't change anything, I restarted the program, I restarted the computer and is still happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The advice that seems to work most often with this kind of failure is to update your video drivers from the web site of the maker of your video card.

Why on my screen is the text not all showing, it is overlapped by other txt or graphics?

on some windows the graphics are out of place and over lap text, in other cases text overlaps text as if the entire page is not showing as it should, it makes reading the window, page impossible.

If a page specifies absolute positions for text and other elements then any change from what is specified can cause text to overlap. A missing font can be enough to cause that to happen.
Can you post a link to a web page where you see this happening?
I assume that you have set the Minimum Font Size to none and are allowing pages to use their own fonts.<br />
If you use full page zoom to zoom a web page instead in increasing the minimum font size then Firefox can increase the full page and such issues are less likely to happen.

Pics from iPhoto Albums not all showing in iPhone tab in iTunes

I am trying to sync several of my iPhoto albums with my iPhone. With most of my albums when I click on the photo tab in iTunes, it shows WAY less pictures than are in the real album. Does anyone know what could be causing this or how to fix it? I really want all pics from the albums I choose to move to phone.

Apparently sometimes, for various reasons (replacement of a track in the Store with another copy, slight changes in the release identification, etc.) the link between the track and your Purchase History can break, which will result in the track not appearing as eligible for iTunes Plus upgrade even though it exists as Plus in the Store.
Contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form at the bottom of the Purchase Issues FAQ web page (there is no category specifically for this issue, so I'd suggest just picking one under the Purchases - problem area) and explain the problem to them. It may take a couple of email exchanges to get past the "form" email responses, but eventually they should work out a solution for you. You may need to provide the track name, artist and order number so they can confirm the original purchase.

Black lines not all showing up the same color when exported as any type file

Hi everyone,
I could really use some help as this is driving me crazy! Whenever I upload my Illustrator file with my logo online or export my logo as any type of file, certain black lines are lighter than others. I checked in Illustrator by clicking the lines that were showing up different shades when exported and all have the same #000000.
Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Unfortunately my file is set up like a hot mess. Everything is in the same layer and I should have definitely done multiple ones. This is only the second logo I've designed and I'm learning as I go. Basically I did an image trace of the drawing and then went back and manually fixed lines. Instead of having only a few to select I have many all in the same layer as my color.
I noticed my vector logo works fine when exported. It's the files where I am resizing it that are coming up in the different colors.
