Using two Mighty Mice (Mouses)??

I have a MacBook Pro set up next to my G4. I have a wireless Mighty Mouse for the laptop. Can I get one for the desktop or am I asking for trouble? The two computers are a foot apart. Thanks!

Should not be z problem. The mouse is "paired" to the computer if it's a BlueTooth mouse.

  • Two mighty mouses, one macbook pro.

    I have a wireless mighty mouse for home. Sometimes lately when I take my macbook pro somewhere, I noticed I have forgotten my mouse. So, I splurged and bought a 2nd mouse to leave in my case so I never have to remember to bring my desk one.
    Well, it's not working as planned. I have to re-sync them (or whatever the term is...). I use the one in the bag all day, shut it off. Go home, start up mac, and now my desktop one doesn't work. It's really very, very annoying and time consuming to do this every time.
    I did a quick search here, but just didn't see any definitive answers on why you can't use two (or more) wireless mice with one computer. Each has a unique hookup, so it should work fine.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello syn:
    This is from the Bluetooth help database:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Bluetooth/1.0/en/blu24.html
    If I read the last bullet correctly, you are trying something that Apple says you should not do (the why, I do not know).

  • Two Wireless Mighty Mice losing connection on two macs - what's going on?

    I have a PowerMac G4/466 and a Power Mac G5 Dual 2GHz. Yesterday I bought two wireless apple keyboards and mighty mice, with D-Link BT dongles, for both computers. I have the same problem on both. Basically, the mice lose connections so frequently (actually, the connection is lost constantly) that I have had to go back to my wired mouse to get any kind of quality work time on my Macs. For some reason, when the wireless keyboard wasn't connected, the mighty mouse on the G4 worked fine (haven't tested this on the G5 yet). I have looked through a few of the topics in this forum and all I seem to find is other users who have the same problems but no answers. Can anyone give me a few pointers to try and sort this problem? I would like to use the wireless mighty mouse and for it not to be a waste of money buying.

    It might be worth your while to view the iMovie tutorials at http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/imovie/index.html because they can answer a lot of questions you may be having with your new computer.
    If your iSight camera was on while you were trying to import video from your camera into iMovie, something was set wrong.

  • I have two IMacs and I want to set them up so i can use one keyboard and mouse-   How do i make this happen?

    How do i make it happen so I can use two seperate iMac computers as one set-up with one keyboard and one mouse?

    If the keyboard and mouse are wired, then a USB KVM switch will work.
    If they are wireless, you should be able to connect the wirelessly via Bluetooth settings. discover the same keyboard and mouse on each iMac.
    However, you cannot use them on each iMac simultaneously. I think it would be rather difficult for you to switch between them (disconnecting and reconnecting them over and over again).
    Most iMacs come shipped with a keyboard and mouse by default. How come you only have one keyboard?
    Keyboards and mice are not that expensive either.

  • I just purchased a used wireless Mighty Mouse. Do I need to have Blue Tooth installed on my machine to use it?

    Hey
    So I just purchased a used wireless Mighty Mouse at a Goodwill very inexpensively on the 50/50 chance it would work. Right out of the gate I figured I might need to have Blue Tooth installed on my machine to use it, is this the case?
    I have a Mac Pro Tower running 10.6.7, but I didn't opt for the Blue Tooth a few years ago when I purchased it. I knew I should've!
    Thanks.

    Well I purchased the Mac Pro in 2009 I believe. It could've been late 2008, but I can't quite remember. When I ordered it from the Apple store online I customized it. I had the amount of Ram I wanted put into it, and had two hard drives installed. While doing all of my customizations I could've opted to have the Blue Tooth card installed into the computer but for some reason I didn't see myself using it. I did get the generic wired mouse that came with the computer.

  • Upgraded to Maverick.  Can't use my mighty mouse

    Using an IMac desktop.  Upgraded to Maverick.  Can't use my mighty mouse anymore.  Bought a trackpad, hate it.  It is so touchy....constantly opening any window I scroll over.  Any suggestions on another mouse that is compatible?

  • How to use two or more mics simultaneously on a firewire interface?

    hey i have the fireface 400 and am using it with logic. how do i use both mic pres on the front of the fireface simultaneously. for example i want to record an acoustic using two mics. probably a simple question please help me out.

    How do you "use" them? Please be more specific...
    Make sure you choose the correct inputs on the relevant tracks..
    If that doesn't help you I've heard stamp collecting can be fun.

  • Mighty hopping mouse?

    My mighty mouse is behaving strangely. It makes sudden random jumps over the screen as I work. This sample is almost new and the lead looks fine (came as a replacement for one whose cable insulation was thorn). Is this a known problem?

    You might do a search of Discussions to see if there are any related posts to this being a problem. My only other suggestion is to use a mousepad that has no pattern or print on it - solid color only. I have had problems with optical mice on mousepads that have patterns or pictures on them. I have three Mighty Mice (two corded, one wireless) and haven't had any problems with them, but all my mousepads are solid colors.

  • Has anyone used the 3M Ergonomic Mouse with Logic?

    I'm particularly interested in whether:
    (a) the *scroll function* works with Logic, and
    (b) does the simple, non-programmable 3-button design hinder the functionality of Logic?

    I am a big fan of mice with many options, and while I have never used a blue tooth mouse before, I do have a Logitech MX1000 mouse that I use for my Powerbook, and I love it. I originally used it for my PC, but when I picked up the new laptop, I just setup the PC with the older MX700 which I also love, and used the laser mouse on the laptop. Either way, I am sure anything with more than one button or the really ridiculous Mighty Mouse from APPLE will be better than a trackpad for any serious use.

  • How to move node in treeView using two buttons ?

    Hello ,
    Am starter , and am working on a Winforms application.
    I browse an XML file , then I populate treeview in my interface. I want to move selected node in the two sens ( up and down)  using two button ( so not with events , normal drag and drop with mouse ) .
    - I select the nod
    - I click on the up button , then the node take the new place ( something like , drop and insert maybe )
    I don't know if is possible to affect this events to button or they are another way to do this
    this is my code concerning populating treeView :
    private void browseSourceFileBtn_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    var openSourceFile = openSourceFileDialog.ShowDialog();
    if (openSourceFile == DialogResult.OK)
    fichierSourcePath.Text = openSourceFileDialog.FileName;
    // Connect the XML FILE DATABASE to the application interface
    private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    if (openSourceFileDialog.FileName == String.Empty)
    MessageBox.Show("u should open a file", "Erreur de chargement", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error);
    else
    try
    MessageBox.Show("plz wait ");
    statusLabel.Text = "Début de chargement du fichier";
    var doc = new XmlDocument();
    doc.Load(openSourceFileDialog.FileName);
    sourceTreeView.Nodes.Clear();
    var rootNode = new TreeNode(doc.DocumentElement.Name);
    sourceTreeView.Nodes.Add(rootNode);
    sourceTreeView.CheckBoxes = true;
    sourceTreeView.AllowDrop = true;
    DateTime starteTime = DateTime.Now;
    BuildNode(doc.DocumentElement, rootNode);
    DateTime endTime = DateTime.Now;
    TimeSpan duree = endTime - starteTime;
    sourceTreeView.ExpandAll();
    sourceTreeView.Nodes[0].EnsureVisible();
    string chargementTemps = "" + duree.Minutes + "min : " + duree.Seconds + "s : " + duree.Milliseconds + "ms";
    statusLabel.Text = "Chargement effectué avec succés en :" + chargementTemps;
    catch (Exception)
    sourceTreeView.Nodes.Clear();
    statusLabel.Text = "Echec de chargement";
    thanks u a lot

    Hi Nico68er,
    According to your description, you'd like to move up or down the node in TreeView.
    By reseraching, I found this post in StackOverFlow is similar with your issue.http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2203975/move-node-in-tree-up-or-down
    From this answer.
    You can use the following extensions
    public static class Extensions
    public static void MoveUp(this TreeNode node)
    TreeNode parent = node.Parent;
    TreeView view = node.TreeView;
    if (parent != null)
    int index = parent.Nodes.IndexOf(node);
    if (index > 0)
    parent.Nodes.RemoveAt(index);
    parent.Nodes.Insert(index - 1, node);
    else if (node.TreeView.Nodes.Contains(node)) //root node
    int index = view.Nodes.IndexOf(node);
    if (index > 0)
    view.Nodes.RemoveAt(index);
    view.Nodes.Insert(index - 1, node);
    public static void MoveDown(this TreeNode node)
    TreeNode parent = node.Parent;
    TreeView view = node.TreeView;
    if (parent != null)
    int index = parent.Nodes.IndexOf(node);
    if (index < parent.Nodes.Count -1)
    parent.Nodes.RemoveAt(index);
    parent.Nodes.Insert(index + 1, node);
    else if (view != null && view.Nodes.Contains(node)) //root node
    int index = view.Nodes.IndexOf(node);
    if (index < view.Nodes.Count - 1)
    view.Nodes.RemoveAt(index);
    view.Nodes.Insert(index + 1, node);
    Child nodes will follow their parents.
    You could use this class in your program.
    If you want to move the node up. Call the Extensions.MoveUp(this.treeView1.SelectNode)
    private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
                if (this.treeView1.SelectedNode != null)
                    Extensions.MoveUp(this.treeView1.SelectedNode);
    If you have any other concern regarding this issue, please feel free to let me know.
    Best regards,
    Youjun Tang

  • Anybody using an Apple wireless mouse on the Mac Mini ?

    Just bought the bluetooth wireless mouse and keyboard for my new Mac mini core due. The performance of the wireless mouse is disappointing. I believe the timing gap between the hand movement with the cursor movement on the screen is far too long so it is difficult to control the mouse smoothly. I have been using radio type wireless mouse on other PCs and the Apple wireless mouse is the worst mouse I have ever used. Don't know whether anybody here has smiliar experience. Any recommendation to retify or improve this?? I'm happy with the new Mac mini though, and the wirelss keyboard is only okay ( it loses connection with the Mac occassionally even in short distance).
    Mac Mini Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   Window XP PC
    Mac Mini Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   Window XP PC

    I had a same trouble in my Core Duo 1.66. I posted the same message in Apple Japan Discussions. There is no reply. Then, I checked U.S. Discussions and find your message.
    First, I think a low battery issue in Apple wireless mous, but not. The mous was working for Mini G4. I asked replacement the Mini, then I got another new one. It had the same trouble.
    I found It depends on a distance between Mini and the mous.
    <30cm, it worked perfect.
    <div class="jive-quote">30, <50cm, it did not work anytime, cursor movement was not smooth.
    1m, it did not work smooth, every time cursor was skipping on the monitor.</div>
    I tried it on two new Minis. Mini G4, it works perfectly even it is >5m.
    I believe that it is bletooth issue.
    Could you check the distance dependance between Mini and the mous.
    Finally, I returned the Core Duo 1.66 and refund. If This issue is solved, New Mini performance will be good enough for me.

  • Trying to use Two Speakers IN Two Jacks on an X-Fi. Microphone Question As We

    I just bought the X-Fi Fatalty Champion Series card, with the front dri've. Love the sound quality and the novelty of the front control set-up, but having a few major problems.
    . I can't seem to connect my two powered speakers to two different jacks correctly.
    I have two powered monitor speakers. Both have /4" outputs, so I'm using two /4" to /8" cables so they'll work with my card. However, I can't get them to work correctly in two separate jacks. They do produce sound, but not at the same levels, or as "Right Speaker and Left Speaker"
    Example.
    Left Speaker into Line Out
    Right Speaker into Line Out 2
    I can't get them to function as a stereo (Left Right) pair (which is very important to me). Yes, they both make sound, but the Left Speaker is extremely dominant. About 75% more dominant in fact.
    How can I plug both my speakers to the card to get what I'm looking for.
    2. I can't get the microphone jack (front or back) to record, or work correctly.
    I can plug a mic in, and hear it in my own speakers (or headphones. I've tried both), however recording in Windows sound recorder, or using voice chats like Teamspeak... nothing. I can hear myself, but others can't. What do I need to do in order to use a microphone correctly with the sound card? What are the exact settings from Windows Start Menu to finish that I need to follow (if any)?
    I'm very frustrated, and have given myself a few gray hairs over these matters today. I played around with settings and combinations for close to 2 hours today.
    If anyone can help me, I'd be thrilled.
    Thanks in advance
    -Z

    You are not supposed to connect a pair of speakers(as in left and right in a stereo pair)to two separate out jacks on the sound card.the place on the card where headphones/speakers with the mini jack goes is the right place.

  • Use of old ball mouse technology with G5?

    Other, maybe most, people, really appreciate the optical mouse technology. Of course that is what I've also used for years. Before that, the ball mouse. At work I still have to use a ball mouse, that is all there is. And it is a Windows system. At home I have a dual G5 and optical devices. I find that I can work more accurately with a ball mouse. This probably sounds like an opposite sketch to people. But it is true. So I end up with less hand aches. I find it frustrating the way the optical device operates in terms of selecting items on the screen, there is a slight "bump and drag" effect. I have four such optical mice and a Kensington Big Ball type, the kind you use with your palm. I really want to use a regular ball mouse with my G5. Does anyone know if 1) this is possible or not; and 2) if so, what company makes them?
    Thanks very much.

    Any USB mouse should work, such as

  • Two Headsets/mics simultaneously on the PS4?

    My wife and I both love to play games online with some of our family members that live far away.  However, it has always been a pain to try and make it possible for both of us to communicate with the other family members playing with us online because the ps3 always only permitted one chatting device at a time.  Is there any news or knowledge of whether or not we will be able to actually have two seperate mics connected and working with the ps4 at the same time so that my wife and I could both easily chat with our friends and family online together? Some people argue this is a stupid request and that split screening sucks, but it is a lot of fun for my wife and I who like to play games together.  Also, we use gaming as a way of socializing and staying in touch with our other familiy members by playing online, so it would be awesome if we could have two mics for our family gaming get-togethers, so to speak... I've been hoping that each controller headset jack will offer it's own ability to provide chat support.  Is this a foolish hope???
